I have him as a "friend" on facebook. But I have asked his advice in the past, and don't want to be too much of a pest. There is now another man who is also a permanent Deacon. So, if I contact the current priest for the blessing of items and the like, I'm more than likely to get one of them. I do have a few items that will need to be blessed, but I keep putting off making the call because of the COVID stuff, and they both have full time jobs. I will make the call some time soon, most probably. If I can remember to call when the church office is open. That's another draw back. The office is only open 9am-1pm. Not much of a window of time to get ahold of anyone. I do wish they had an email address I could use. It's easier for me to send an email than make a call. Maybe I'll just send Deacon Chris a message on facebook. He helped get me with one of the women in the parish who is willing to be a mentor of sorts. That's really what I needed because I kept getting off on wild tangents when it came to learning stuff about the Church and getting my head down to proper size again. I'll admit, I was a bit conceited when I first became a Catholic. I felt I was finally where God wanted me, and I was all ready to tell everyone about it and really try to get to those who are Anti-Catholic. It's weird, really. I guess I finally got to the point where, although I know I'm where God wants me, I also have to realize that the faith is so much more than what you can learn from books.
