It just made landfall south of Tampa. This already look devastating…… https://twitter.com/Earth42morrow/s...-powerful-category-4-florida-landfall-immient
Devastating. It didn’t reach Miami, but it’s horrifying to see the destruction to such lovely beach towns like Naples and Captiva. We used to have a house in Captiva. The most charming little island. So sad. May God help them.
As more news and pictures come out, the impact of this hurricane is becoming more evident. When you see comments from Fl Governor that this is a “500 year” event it gives one pause. Lots of prayers today for these victims, especially as the Governor also said there are likely hundreds of people who have died. Lord have mercy. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ing-2million-without-power-trapped-homes.html
Prayers for the souls lost as the sea reclaimed the lands surrounding Ft. Myers and environs. Tampa once again was spared. Thank you, Lord.
The devastation in Florida is horrific. My cousin and his family live in Naples, my friend in Port Charlotte. Praise God they are safe, but their lives have been turned upside down. It will be a very long and painful recovery from this nightmare, and many were not insured. God bless and protect those who are suffering in the aftermath of this terrible hurricane.
Thanks for the info Jo. I can just imagine how awful it is for those hit by this storm. Our cousin lives in Ft Myers Beach. We are waiting anxiously to hear. Our friends in Cape Breton came through the earlier hurricane with only minor damage but they said many places on the island were not so lucky. I guess Ian is moving up the coast now to the Carolinas. God have mercy.
Such a catastrophe in Florida! God's pathway is mysterious, but it supplies His children with a chance to be a Simon of Cyrene, even if begrudgingly. Pay attention to this Sunday's readings, especially Habakkuk.
