It is very special, indeed, Josephite! Every Tuesday, Fr. Francis has me close Adoration at 10 pm. So I always arrive an hour earlier to spend time with our Savior. But singing Tantum Ergo in Latin and praying the Divine Praises as we kneel before our Lord is very special. And as I close up I will also sing Hail Holy Queen. The silence along with the hymns is a marvelous combination.

    A blest Triduum to you!

Peace to all on this Good Friday…the Reproaches are so deep and good to reflect upon. In my mind I take out “people” and insert my name. God is merciful.

O my people, what have I done to thee?
Or how have I offended you?
    Answer me.

Because I led thee out of the land of Egypt:
thou hast prepared a cross for thy Savior.

    O holy God!
    O holy God!
    O holy strong One!
    O holy strong One!
O holy and immortal, have mercy upon us.
O holy and immortal, have mercy upon us.

Because I led thee through the desert for forty years:
and fed thee with manna, and brought thee into a land exceeding good:
thou hast prepared a cross for thy Savior.
    O holy God! . . .

What more ought I to have done for thee, that I have not done?
I planted thee, indeed, my most beautiful vineyard:
and thou hast become exceeding bitter to me:
for in my thirst thou gavest me vinegar to drink:
and with a spear thou hast pierced the side of thy Savior.
    O holy God! . . .

For thy sake I scourged the firstborn of Egypt:
Thou hast given me up to be scourged.
    O my people . . .

I led thee out of Egypt, having drowned Pharaoh in the Red Sea:
and thou hast delivered me to the chief priests.
    O my people . . .

I opened the sea before thee:
and thou hast opened my side with a spear.
    O my people . . .

I went before thee in a pillar of cloud:
and thou hast led me to the judgment hall of Pilate.
    O my people . . .

I fed thee with manna in the desert:
and thou hast assaulted me with blows and scourges.
    O my people . . .

I gave thee the water of salvation from the rock:
and thou hast given me gall and vinegar to drink.
    O my people . . .

For thy sake I struck the kings of the Canaanites:
and thou hast struck my head with a reed.
    O my people . . .

I gave thee a royal scepter:
and thou hast given a crown of thorns for my head.
    O my people . . .

I exalted thee with great strength:
and thou hast hanged me on the gibbet of the cross.
    O my people . . .

Lovely service last night. I was sad to see the pub next door full of men drinking. But I can't look down my nose too much as I have done the same thing myself in the past.

I might try to get to Armagh Cathedral tonight for the vigil if it is not too far.

I’m very excited to be going to the Great Easter Vigil tonight.! I’ve heard there will be 11baptisms at it. And they do all 9 readings. It’s a obviously a longer Mass, but I just love it. The richness of our faith just echoes throughout this night.

but first, I still must remember the somberness of this Holy Saturday and get to Tenebrae .

In our country, the lines for confession are so long that people often stand in front of churches.

For the last two weeks, they has been confessing from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and then again from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Sunday.

Confessions are often held by 5 to 8 priests, and there can be about 200 people in churches, and about 50 new ones arrive every half an hour. Madness...

Yesterday I stopped by for prayer, confession was from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. I came at half past noon, the line was over 100 meters long and people were coming. I wanted to take a picture for you, but I was ashamed, and I can't do it in front of God. So I didn't...
Best of all, most of them are my age, in their 20s and younger because the older ones confessed in time.
In front of several churches, they took pictures of people standing... Although this is the case with practically all churches and everything is packed inside...

Thank you so much! These are beautiful meditations and if they come from the heart of our Pontiff, it reveals a heart that is repentant and full of hope. If there be no ghost writer in this then God is doing a marvelous work; may we rejoice!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for Pope Francis who has recourse to thee!

Antonio Banderas at the celebration of the Virgin of Tears and Favors in Malaga. The actor consoles the sad faithful of the confrary because this year the procession ended up being canceled because of the storm.

    Tis the spring of souls today: Christ hath burst His prison;
And from three days’ sleep in death as a Sun hath risen.
All the winter of our sins, long and dark, is flying
From His light, to whom we give laud and praise undying.
Now the queen of seasons, bright with the day of splendor,
With the royal feast of feasts comes its joy to render!”
