Yes, well in which case we would be going to prison for Christ. But it's true we must exercise prudence and not throw ourselves on our enemies swords.

I always thought St Thomas More was such a great example of this. He clearly did not want to die, to loose his property and his high office. He did what he could do dance the dance and get out of thigs without compromising his principles. But at the end of day when push came to shove he stuck by Christ's Church.

In the Early Church under the Roman persecution there were some Early Catholics who invited death by running into Pagan Temples and recking things or going before Roman Magistrates and turning themselves in.

I always thought this was wrong if only because of their poor families who robbed of their bread winners. I think we have to love life but love Christ more.

I feel sorry for poor priests and Bishops because theyof course will be the very first to be thrown to the wolves. However the way things are turning out it may be our Cardinals, Bishops and priests who will be to the forefront in throwing we lay people to the wolves.

At the time of Henry the 8th's defection only one Catholic Bishop in England kept the Faith , St John Fisher. I don't have a heck of a lot more confidence in our current crop of Bishops. If they won't even stand up to the media what chance is there of them standing from when the Men in Black come to tkae them away? They just won't do it.

I don't want to be too cynical but I think ordinary Catholic lay people have a much better sense of the True Faith that most of our Bishops who are, to be frank, sell out merchants. Not them all, but most.

I was a little surprised to be honest with you, Bobby that the Archbisop said that the shooting in Paris caused him to doubt his Faith , Bobby ,because their is death and destruction every day acrooss the world. What was so bad about Paris that might make his Faith rock?

Then it came to me. Archbishop Justin Welby is an arch liberal. He believes that Western Societies are ' Progressing ' towards some kind of heaven on Earth . The notion that some of his key concepts like multi culturalism and that all Faiths are basically the same are being overturned.

In other words he is not loosing his Faith in God (which I am not sure was too much there in the first place) he is loosing his Faith in mankind. Or in the Liberal concept of Mankind and where Mankind is going.

It is difficult to understand why a bishop of all people, even a Protestant one, should be shocked at these events. Not only were some people killed in Paris, but God has arranged things in such a way that He kills everybody, although not always in such colourful fashion. Welby, as a liberal, is reluctant to pin the blame on Islam, so expressing doubts about his "faith" is probably code for laying the blame on religion in general. One gets the impression at times that liberals believe, if they only had their way, death itself could be abolished, at least for those worthies like themselves. They are certainly insane enough to think this way.

    From a USA Perspective!
The Lite in the Loafers Lefties have been having a grand time these past 20+ years shoving their godless PC down the throats of Fly Over Country Christians and Conservatives. Making Merry in their Urban Safe-Zones eating Quiche and sippin' Chardonnay. Touting their New Age Values-Free Utopia at cocktail parties and mocking the Bible Clinging Little People "Out-There" on their Late Night "Comedy" Shows. Well, WELL!! The SHTF Moment is upon us and those Out-There Little People who cling to Bibles also tend to cling to Guns, have basic skills and are principled. We shall see, when the gunsmoke disperses, who is left standing? The Little People or Urban Metro-Sexuals!?

    GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!

Isn't this the Masonic ideal? One religion, one world order, Utopia?

We need to pray for the Anglicans and our own Church.

Now, now, there's nothing wrong with a nice Chardonnay (although New World varieties tend to be too sweet for my taste-the French do them better)!

Considering myself a peasant and proud of it, I have to agree that the more urban types face the greater difficulty in the event of collapse. If one has a little plot of land to grow spuds and a gun to protect them, one can survive, while the suave and sophisticated would probably rather die than get dirt under their nails.

We will sadly have to forsake the Chardonnay but the spuds can be used to make poteen (moonshine).

This would just make the spuds grow faster and in more interesting shapes. And the poteen...
