    AidanK A great sinner

    As a great sinner, I know that relapses can and do occur. Certain types of sin can be very seductive and addictive. As human beings, due to the sin of Adam and Eve, it's inevitable that we will sin during our lives so the way forward is to recognise that you have sinned and seek forgiveness from God and the church then start anew and pray for strength to defeat temptation. Don't forget to forgive yourself.

    I hate this! I’m so angry and frustrated and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong and what to change!

    Maybe mistakenly believing we can do it on our own. We all need help. Go where you need to and ask for it. Just don’t stop praying the Rosary. May the Holy Spirit guide you.

    Try to take it apart and get to the bottom. Write it down on paper, write if it is lust or affection tempting you, or something evil...example, lust would be a temptation to adultery or porn, evil to doing hurtful things such as revenge or mean gossip. Then write down a schedule of your time each day, where it is spent: at work, at home, reading books, watching tv, computer time... and write down at what point of each day or night the temptation comes. If you can find it, you can do something drastic to remove the temptation by filling that space with a different habit, prayer, clean the bathroom, whatever it takes. Keep holy water on hand and use it to remind yourself that this is a sin against God, punishable by hell. Sometimes we really need to take ourselves in hand, using fear if necessary! St Therese used to just run away. I think the best to replace bad habits with good habits. Don't be afraid of your sin, take control and cast it out. You have the power and all the help of God and His angels in this. Maybe depending on the sin find some support and help. Prayers continued!

    Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

    In my own experience I would not have the courage to ask God to give me strength. He usually responds by sending temptation to give us a chance to exercise our spiritual muscles. Like preparing for sports or other occasions when we have to use physical exercise to build up strength.

    Ask God to give you Grace to strengthen your resolve, whatever is causing you to struggle. Grace is holy energy, and it is like a tonic rather than battling temptation which clearly seems to be wearing you down. Ask for a/the Heavenly Tonic, Grace.

    And the best prescription I know on the face of the earth to get urgent Grace from God is as follows;

    O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us (especially RosaryWielder) who have recourse to thee. Amen

    I think I need to work more on deeper mental prayer, and have a more childlike trust in God like Saint Therese of Lisieux.

    Sometimes all we can do is offer God our brokenness and ask for blessings that only he can give. I struggle with depression, as I have mentioned before. I have learned, when I'm at the bottom of the pit, to remind myself that "this too shall pass." God will be with me even when I feel like I have totally failed. When I've done something, thinking I'm doing good, only to have it go south. My daughter isn't speaking to me, because she says I'm "abusive," but she won't say how. So I can't fix the problem. I can only turn it over to God so he can work his miracle in His good time. I know I mess up really big sometimes, but he can fix any mess and bring blessings out of it. Give it all over to God, and allow His mercy and grace to fill you. And allow His forgiveness to sink into the broken parts and repair it into something so totally different that all will be amazed.
