I was using them more for a definition and some historical facts, not any pronouncement or decision which they didn't give. I like Fr. Apostoli also who also says the same thing re: the consecration. They all quote only what was "officially" put out there (esp. since Mother Angelica no longer has her voice heard....she had Fr. Gobbi on...and thoroughly backed him) when Lucia was strictly placed under obedience only to the hierarchy....whatever they said she had to agree to. But then, at the recent memorial Mass for Audrey Santos, while Fr. Apostoli was concelebrating, the chalices filled up with oil and the Fatima statue cried for the first time in 25 years....as he watched. Perhaps a sign for those who still claim such? Just sayin. The other info re: the backing for the MMP and messages wasn't from EWTN.
ya know. Lucia? the girl who was hung over a pot of boiling oil was afraid of a few Vatican officals....that's what decenters want us 2 believe.... get a grip... deal with our reality...
Fr Apostali is talking right now on ewtn about all our prayers that worked to convert Russia... same peeps different message!!!
Not quite. Hyperbole doesn't equal facts. From one of the best who looks at the facts both within the Church and the reality of the world today with a convincing argument beyond mere clericalism: August 01, 2014 – Part I: MMP, Consecration of Russia has Not been done! (Special Guest, Fr. Ronan Murphy of the Camden, NJ Diocese) http://radiomaria.us/tag/camden-new-jersey/ Both JPII and Pope Benedict later insinuated by their own remarks re: what is still to be expected in the future....and it wasn't any fruit that would equal a soon to be peaceful time.....which is mentioned in the above interview. Popes should now themselves be classified as "dissenters"? Russia is now converted? Got a bridge to sell those who can look at Putin's belligerence and force for continuing Atheistic control over nations and still teach such. For every live birth in Russia they have 2 abortions; Catholic priests are restricted there....not exactly signs of conversion.
Another good interview with Fr. Ronan about his calling to the Priesthood via our lady of Fatima....and the number 13: http://radiomaria.us/may-04-2015-fr-ronan-murphy-and-fr-arturo-lozanos/
Actually Russia was a country at the time and she was a member of the Soviet Union as well. The entire Soviet Union had a population only a bit larger than the U.S.A., not almost half of the world. Also when you are consecrating something it is important to specify what it is by name. If I was baptizing a baby I wouldn't say "the tiny being over there", I would say the name. All I was saying is why would she give precise directions on exactly how she wanted it done if it didn't matter? By the way please do not put words in my mouth, I never said the Blessed Virgin Mary snubbed the Holy Fathers. I felt they may have been given some benefit for their attempts even though they were imperfect, just as WWII was shortened because of the imperfect consecration done then. Things are constantly being reconsecrated, look at how many times the whole world has been consecrated, so why not name Russia?
So thats the best you got? despite Sr Lucia living another 25 years . A supposed letter from 1989? From FR FOX ???
Has Russia Been Consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary? Answering this question is like trying to find your way out of a dark, unfamilar room. Feeling your way with hands searching in the dark for a light switch and then squashing your fingers into half opened door jam, slightly changing direction and bumping your head on an ill placed lampstand, then about facing and running headlong into an opened cupboard; and as you try to recover and continue your quest you find yourself tripping over a coffee table and landing on your face. I know I need to ponder this with more prayer.
It is very difficult with good argumetns on both sides. I believe it has not been consecrated..but to be wonder I often have misgivings on whether or not I am wrong in this. There are such very, very, very good argumetns on both sides. But the the ball has to come down somewhere and in this case it has fallen on the , side of the net to disbleieve that it has.
Thank you for pointing out my error, My mind thinks one thing and my fingers type another at times...ughhh What I meant to say was communism spread thru half the world, at the time of Russias consecration. USSR, CHINA, N Korea Vietnam Eastern Europe, Cuba Any map from this time frame will show this. I finish my reply later...
In all charity, I would like to reply to this assertion. Yes, Lucia was threatened with being put in a pot of boiling oil, and would not betray Our Lady. But as a practicing Catholic, I am certain Lucia would be very vulnerable in the hands of legitimate Church Authority, and out of obedience would have been like putty in their hands if they were manipulating her to see it their way. Legitamite Church Authority discernment in Lucia's eyes would be her duty in the sight of God. But the fruits that I have witnessed since 1984 indicate to me that the Consecration was done. I believe if the full fruits are lacking ie more startling numbers of conversions, it seems to me to be more to do with our response or lack of response to Our Lady's request for 5 First Saturday Devotion. The ball is in our court, not the Vatican or Sister Lucy now. I think.
part of Fr Vendittis Homily this past first Saturday devotion... full homily http://fathervenditti.com/5-2-2015.htm Father Murphy and Fr Venditti know each other well Now, we are at something of a disadvantage, given that this talk is scheduled for only a half hour; it would require several hours to look at this devotion in all of its theological aspects, and we can't do that. And, between Father Murphy and myself, who will be presenting to you this year the various aspects of this devotion and leading you in making it properly, I have been given the more difficult task, since I not only have to introduce the devotion to you, but also present to you the first of the five reasons the Mother of God gave Sister Maria das Dores this devotion to spread. But we have to begin somewhere, and the best place to begin anything is at the beginning, and the beginning of our consideration of this devotion is simply to recognize the significance of our Blessed Lady in asking that this devotion take place on Saturday. Why is that significant? Because Saturday was, at the time Sister Maria was given this mandate, already a day the Church had set aside for prayer to the Mother of God. It had been for centuries, and was formally confirmed as such by Pope Saint Pius X in a decree he issued in 1905, in which he offered several indulgences for doing so, long before Mary ever appeared at Fatima. And the reason that's significant is because it reminds us that everything Mary has told us through her servant Lucia was said always in obedience to—and under the authority of—Christ's Holy Church. Some of us sometimes forget that. Sometimes we imagine that the veneration of the Mother of God and the messages of Our Lady of Fatima constitute some sort of religion unto themselves, with the Church being an entity of officialdom which we judge as worthy or unworthy of our Lady's favor to the degree that the Church conforms herself to what Mary says. And there have always been, and will always be, agitating people who will insist on passing judgment on the Church based on what they think Mary said. How many of us have heard it said, for example, that the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was not done by Pope Saint John Paul II the way Mary required, because he didn't mention Russia by name? What a stupid argument that is. It's also an argument that I regard as seriously sinful: the Church, according to the Blessed Apostle Paul, is the Body of Christ, which is the same thing as saying the Church is Jesus. To disobey the Church is to be an enemy of Jesus and Mary. I'll repeat that, just so there's no mistake: to disobey the Church is to be an enemy of Jesus and Mary. I don't want to spend too much time on this matter of the significance of Mary's request to Lucia being centered on Saturday as it pertains to our devotion to the Church, except by giving you this one illustration, which I probably shouldn't because it concerns an alleged apparition of the Mother of God which is still under investigation and has not yet been approved; it's not a recent one—it's many, many years old, and no one personally involved still lives—and, while the Church is looking very favorably on it, they have kept it very secret and no pilgrims have ever gone there, so please don't think you've heard of it, because I know you haven't; and, please don't ask me later where it was or “Was it this one?” because I will not answer you. Mary supposedly spoke to a young girl from a statue of the Mother of God which was in a corner of the child's parish church, and had arranged with this child to meet Her there every week at the same time. The child reported this to her parish priest, who was somewhat skeptical, as you can imagine, and decided to test her by forbidding her to enter the Church at the time the Mother of God said she wanted to meet the child there. So, this girl is sitting at home considering what she should do: Mary told her to be at a certain place at a certain time, but her parish priest told her not to go there. So, she decides in her mind that the Blessed Virgin Mary outranks a mere parish priest, and decides to go to the Church anyway; and, as she's walking up the steps toward the front door of the Church, Mary appears, holding her hand out, blocking her path, and says, “How dare you disobey one of my Son's priests!” Now, as I said, the Church is currently looking very favorably on these alleged apparitions, and if they are ever approved, then you will be told about them;—if they are not approved, then you will be told nothing—but, the bottom line is that Mary does nothing apart from Her Son and His Church, and this is illustrated so beautifully by the fact that our Blessed Mother inaugurated this devotion we come here today to practice on that day of the week that the Church had already set aside for prayer to the Mother of God. http://fathervenditti.com/5-2-2015.htm very good homily to read...its a bit long
The consecration will take place in a hard and painful moment. The whole world will see clearly that the consecration saved the world. The Immaculate Heart of Mary will be loved by everyone. The Church will be reunited. One church, one faith. It is the time of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I hope Jesus will not tell me off for sharing this little bit of humour on this very serious subject. The above post follows my attempt at sharing exactly what is in this long drawn out sermon, straight after my posting, so you know I did not cheat. LOL The reason I find humour here is because I am by no means an articulate person. In fact I have been called circumlocutory, the very opposite of articulate. LOL Now, I am suspecting that the SECRET story of a girl who saw Our Lady who told the girl to obey her Priest, is about the 5 First Saturdays. I notice, Infant Jesus of Prague (user name) shared this before on another thread. HHHMMM you've been sussed, fess up Infant Jesus of Prague, love ya really.
Why quote me and then unquote me.. well. I must submit to Rome. It is not my 'conjuring' up of the events, but from the official Vatican Site (The Holy See).. God Bless!
Prince of Peace got it exactly right. This is my problem as well. Yes communism fell as well as the end of the cold war, but is that the amazing, startling event that everybody agrees could only have been caused by the consecration? Most people don't even know it happened, even most Catholics. I just don't think so. At Guadalupe as soon as the requests were granted, the entire Indian nation was converted to Catholicism in one decade and it was clear to all who was responsible for it. We are now 31 years after the consecration in 1984 with no evidence of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
I will repost any info relevant to our conversations I don't look at this MOG forum as the 50 or so folks who post thoughts on a topic, but to all those who come to MOG and follow a thread. Im a pros and cons kinda guy in my discernment... I found this forum in this manner over the alleged locutions to the world. So I preach mostly to the World at large Thank you Padraig for answering our Ladys call...tis a Blessing to us All!!!
Devotion to Immaculate Heart of Mary has been a fire in my heart since the late 70s to my knowledge, and even before that time. I could write or in my case waffle shedloads of amazing things that happened to me in my quest to make known the importance of this devotion over the years. How do we convince everyone to practice the 5 first Saturdays devotion. I would like to share one of those amazing God incidences, so that hopefully anyone who reads my posts can understand why some may come across quirky. I hope so anyway, because I can't understand myself. On the 12th May 1981, I had a dream, actually it felt like %a nightmare as follows; My very young son John Paul was a passenger in the back of a taxi driving along a road. I saw my husband (in the dream I saw him as 'the father') who was driving. The next thing there was a terrible accident, and John Paul was going to be ok; But 'the father' was not ok, he was going away and I could not understand what it meant for the life of me. Was my husband going to desert us? in the dream I did not seem to be bothered that 'the father' was going away. This worried me. The next day on the news Holy Father Pope John Paul II was shot, but survived thank God; but I was then very worried as what the rest of the dream/nightmare meant. I was very lucky at the time to have a parish Priest who was patient with me to the point of sainthood, and I literally jumped in the car and drove straight to him, asking for his help in what this all meant. He invited me into the parlour as he always did, God bless him. He asked if everything was ok and listened while I told him about the dream, and how worried I was at not being too concerned about 'the father' going away. He assured me there was nothing to worry about. And as he had other company in the next room, I left feeling much better. UNTIL a couple of days later when another parishioner phoned me and said "have you heard the news " Father X has been told, he is to be moved away from the parish" He had been there for years and was heartbroken about it. It turned out, the person in the other room the day I went to see him with my concerns about the dream, was his superior who had come to tell him about the decision to move him. To this day, I feel so bad, because I had said to him, I was not bothered about the father going away, the dream was symbolic. He must have known the full meaning; but kept his part of my dream to himself. You might ask what has this got to do with First Saturday Devotion. Well, From the January to May 1981, I felt that compelled to make the 5 First Saturdays, I did not even know what to do, so hunted around for an open Catholic Church and all I could do was fall on my face before the Blessed Sacrament, and tell Jesus, I wanted to make the 1st Saturdays. And hoped He would understand. May was the 5th Month, and that was when Saint John Paul was shot. As a result of him being shot, he studied about Fatima, and carried a great devotion to Fatima to the day he died. Of course this included the Consecration to Immaculate Heart of Mary. I wonder how many other souls had the same sort of experience as I. For God surely calls us when He wants our service. We just have to keep motoring on. Even when no one else understands any more than we do ourselves. Sorry , if his bores anyone. It is true. I could share privately the name of Father X. I found out where he was just a few years ago by another God incidence when I shared another testimony, and he was part of the testimony. God bless him.
