Happy New Year to all on the Forum. May God bless and protect us throughout this new year. today’s first reading from Mass: The LORD said to Moses: “Speak to Aaron and his sons and tell them: This is how you shall bless the Israelites. Say to them: The LORD bless you and keep you! The LORD let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! The LORD look upon you kindly and give you peace! So shall they invoke my name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
A blessed New Year to everyone here! May God convert all of our loved ones and turn our nations back to Him!
I rang in the new year with a midnight traditional Latin mass in Waterford. Mulled wine and merriment afterwards. Mass was packed with mostly young people, 20s, 30s, young families. The little Trad community is really starting to blossom here since the FSSP set up a permanent base, with the blessing and support of our wonderful Bishop. I feel really blessed.
A great year for everyone, in the grace of God and in the protection of the Blessed Virgin. This is my wish on this day of the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. This image is located in the entrance hall of the Domus Pacis building in Fatima, where the World Apostolate of Fatima is based.
May Our Lady of Fatima protect and guide everyone on the forum and their loved ones in this new year which starts on a First Saturday.
May this year bring many blessings to all of you and your loved ones. I read that the Te Deum and Veni Spiritus Sanctus prayers are appropriate and provides indulgences on these days. The Te Deum You are God: we praise you; You are God: we acclaim you; You are the eternal Father: All creation worships you. To you all angels, all the powers of heaven, Cherubim and Seraphim, sing in endless praise: Holy, holy, holy, Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory. The glorious company of apostles praise you. The noble fellowship of prophets praise you. The white-robed army of martyrs praise you. Throughout the world the holy Church acclaims you: Father, of majesty unbounded, Your true and only Son, worthy of all worship, And the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide. You, Christ, are the king of glory, The eternal Son of the Father. When you became man to set us free You did not spurn the Virgin’s womb. You overcame the sting of death, And opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers. You are seated at God’s right hand in glory. We believe that you will come, and be our judge. Come then, Lord, and help your people, Bought with the price of your own blood, And bring us with your saints To glory everlasting. Save your people, Lord, and bless your inheritance. Govern and uphold them now and always. Day by day we bless you. We praise your name forever. Keep us today, Lord, from all sin. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy. Lord, show us your love and mercy; For we put our trust in you. In you, Lord, is our hope: And we shall never hope in vain. Veni Spiritus Sanctus Holy Spirit, Lord of light, From Thy clear celestial height Thy pure beaming radiance give. Come, Thou Father of the poor, Come with treasures which endure, Come, Thou Light of all that live. Thou, of all consolers best, Thou, the soul’s delightsome Guest, Dost refreshing peace bestow. Thou in toil art comfort sweet, Pleasant coolness in the heat, Solace in the midst of woe. Light immortal, Light divine, Visit Thou these hearts of Thine, And our inmost being fill. If Thou take Thy grace away, Nothing pure in man will stay; All his good is turned to ill. Heal our wounds; our strength renew; On our dryness pour Thy dew; Wash the stains of guilt away. Bend the stubborn heart and will; Melt the frozen, warm the chill; Guide the steps that go astray. Thou, on those who evermore Thee confess and Thee adore, In Thy sevenfold gifts descend: Give them comfort when they die, Give them life with Thee on high; Give them joys that never end.
