Happy Father's Day to all Father's here and in Heaven ! Let us not forget one special Father: St. Joseph !

    PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH

Prayers to St. Joseph, the foster-father of Jesus, date back almost as far as Our Lord’s time! Although he came from King David’s noble lineage, St. Joseph (left) lived a life of great humility and devotion to his Holy Family as a carpenter.
    ...
Matthew’s gospel describes him as a “just man” (1:19). He is the patron saint of the Universal Church, and people invoke his aid for workers, families, home buyers and sellers, and the grace of a happy death, among other things. St. Thomas Aquinas once noted that St. Joseph is unique among patron saints in that he is able to assist us at anytime for anything.

St. Theresa of Avila echoed this sentiment when she wrote “I know by experience that the glorious St. Joseph assists us generally in all necessities. I never asked him for anything which he did not obtain for me.”

This prayer is among the earliest prayers to St. Joseph, (from around A.D. 50) and also one of the best known:

Oh St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.

Oh St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your divine son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.

Oh St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while he reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss his fine head for me, and ask him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen

I say that prayer everyday to St. Joseph, placing my family under his protection and care. I also say

Hail Joseph, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst men and
Blessed is your foster Son, Jesus.
Holy Joseph, foster father of the Son of God,
pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
    Amen.

St. Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for all of our fathers who have passed on to the Lord!

My beautiful 19-yr-old daughter, Therese, made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land over Easter. Today she presented me with a brown scapular which she acquired from the monastery located near the summit of Mount Carmel. Very special!:)

Here's a wonderful father's day message posted today. I thank God for all of you prayerful men!

They quench my thirst to hear the voices of men at prayer…

    Published by pelianito under Peace,Prayer
2 Thessalonians 2:8 I desire, then, that in every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.
“My beloved child, what a world it would be if men lifted up their hands in prayer each day! Too few men are praying—and here I am speaking about the men. They are too easily discouraged from prayer, too easily distracted from making time for it. Now you see that the result is argument, wars, skirmishes, and feuds, gang against gang. Those men who pray shine like polished diamonds in a coal bin. I am drawn to them and they quench my thirst to hear the voices of men at prayer. Let those men who will pray be a beacon in the darkness. I am calling the men today to take up the banner of prayer, to hold it high, to be an example in their families. I love you, my brothers, my sons. Live in me and you will be living soldiers of peace.”
