I don't remember much from my high school German class, but I do remember this: "Herzlichen gluckwunsch zum Geburtstag!" I have always thought that has a little more oomph than a mere Happy Birthday! Thank you, it was happy, we even had sunshine! Got to go for a walk in my shirtsleeves, quite the treat.
