I know there are so many prediction of pending financial collapse but this one caught my attention as source seems credible. Also timing us interesting given discussions on MOG about the timing of The Warning and some of the recent blogs by Charlie and Matt. What is coming will make the Great Depression seem like a picknic in comparison. Only a secular article could conclude that what is coming is only a depression.
The stock market had a record day. We pulled our investments out of stocks earlier this month and put it into cash based on some of what we have read here and from Charlie Johnston. We figured we could always reinvest but today I am feeling kind of foolish. Does anyone feel that the economy is rebounding and we will just have the normal ups and downs? I just am not sure what to think anymore. We need to save for our retirement and our son's education and I hate to sit with everything in cash not growing. I need to hear what the good people of this forum are thinking. I know someone on here was a financial planning professional... what are you doing? Thanks everyone!
Joanne, Don't listen to this board or anyone else. Diversify your stocks, keep 2 to 5 thousand cash in case of emergency. And put a (not sure if it right word) stop order to protect stock from major dive. If it all goes to pot...no one will know or tell you. Best regards al
we pulled out of stocks 2 years ago....I am fine with it. It's going to pot in 6 months or so. Not sure you can be safe anywhere. Even cash will be a run on banks. I want to squirrel away in my mattress

Joanne, I definitely believe that the bumps in the road, whether economic, political, or spiritual, are not scheduled for a reset to normal anytime soon. We're moving from one crisis to another and the time lag between each is getting shorter and shorter. I believe the unavoidable collapse of the dollar is less than a year away. I bet you believe that the dollar will eventually collapse, too. But what your asking is for someone to pinpoint when, so that you can make the best use of your finances while there's time. That is a reasonable desire but an unreasonable request, because no one but God sees the whole picture. If my family stays put during the Storm then most of what my family has will be lost, used, or given away to others. Currently, my beautiful wife and I are attempting to clear debts, expand our in-house staples to survive 4 months, and discern who God might want us to financially help at this time. I would be very cautious about investing in world systems right now. We have invested in some metals which currently are taking a beating, but I'll hold on to them because they'll temporarily spike when the dollar goes down the drain. In these shaky times, I bet all of us have made prayerful, educated guesses that have made us feel foolish. Trust in God as Joseph did; the Lord redirected his decision about Mary because his heart was pure. He will do the same for us as the days become more confusing and surreal. Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
An umbrella can keep the rain off, it can't help with a hurricane. When Our Lady appears she never talks of material preparations only spiritual ones. The closest to material preparations I have ever read are talk of refuges, which I believe to be right. But all Western Societies, I believe, will collapse. Depression is not the right word for it. Total collapse would be better.
Thank you. Yes, I want someone to give me a definite answer... is the world going to go on as we know it or will there be a collapse. If I can't get a definite answer, I wanted to hear as many opinions as possible. I have had a hard week and the unknown and uncertainty of what is ahead is getting to a planner type like me. We have a limited income and we count on market gains to build our son's college fund in hopes to cover some of his schooling, but what's the point of worrying if it will all collapse anyways. I know I am being unreasonable in my request for answer. I am letting the feeling of impending doom get to me and then feel like an idiot when have a stellar stock market day.

Or you can put it into preparing with some physical assets while there is little time ahead. It's up to you. Our only hope is in the Lord, through His Blessed Mother.
I do know of people who have already gone to refuges. In some sense they show more faith than the rest of us who have not, they have given up quite a lot to go to another, simpler place. I would recommend people do not do so unless they feel the specific call of God to do so. The good Lord knows we have material needs as well as spiritual. He guards us as the apple of His eye and hides us under the shelter of His wing. Some people have written to me in the past asking for specific locations of refuges. Well a simple enough guide is this. Look for Marian shrines and Catholic religious houses, especially monasteries with farms and you will never go far wrong. Other specific locations may be found if you trawl the net. I understand family people will naturally be drawn to take specific measures and I sympathise with this, especially for those with young children. But as Jesus said, Luke 17:33 The Coming of the Kingdom …32"Remember Lot's wife. 33"Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34"I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.… The best armour we can put on for an uncertain future is a spiritual armour as St Paul tells us in Ephesians. For God has numbered even the feathers on the sparrow and will not desert us in our needs.

The soul is more important than the body. 'What good is it if a man were to gain the whole world, yet lose his soul'? These are the words of Christ. They are true because he is the truth. We are all going to be living by Divine Providence very soon. So lets try it now. Seek first the Kingdom, seek first the things of God. Trust in Divine Providence and watch it work. Give us this day our daily Bread is a sufficient prayer for today.

All of us Joanne are on the same path. We are all learning. I do believe we need to start really trusting in Divine Providence now in order to prepare us for the times ahead. Of course, none of us knows God's timetable of events with any certainty. But there are indications from secular media that all is not well with the world's economic system and it cannot be sustained by QE any more. It is like the houses of the 1st and 2nd little pigs - made of straw and sticks!
I am the worst at trying to control things. While putting great effort to die to myself the past 2 years especially, its ugly head rises here and again. Thank you Lord for the sacrament of confession. Thank you for your mercy. I no long bury my head in the sand thinking as most that it is just a 'bump in the road'. I have prepared pysically as if everything depends on me and prayed as if everything depends on God. I am prepared to either live with what God has allowed me to prepare with or loose it all if it is his will. I am completely resigned now to seeking only His will.
