Every time a bishop uses the term "synodal church" to justify reforms, it seems to be a reference to the birth of a new church.
What does it say about these bishops if they promote a church in preference to the one their Creator founded? It seems to leave two answers: either they do not believe in Christ or they believe they are superior to Him. If anyone can provide an alternative answer, please forgive my effrontery. Luan, I have made an edit, probably just before you 'liked' (I think the term 'agree' would be more dignified and accurate) my original post. I'm just saying this as a formality, but I don't think you'd disagree with my add-on.
It seems that they believe in the "civilization of love," in which Christ is obliged to accompany his children in their "weaknesses" without imposing the heavy burden of the commandments, even if this means giving up the preaching of the Church.
All well and good, but how are they going to 'oblige' Christ to do it (Him being God and all, being the obvious difficulty)?
To quote Malachi Martin: "they have lost their faith. It is as simple as that." A kind of humanism in place of Christ centered faith and worship has taken over.
I was studying the Second Council of Nicaea (787), the last council of the undivided church, and something that caught my attention was that Canon 6 says that provincial synods must be held annually. Perhaps liberals will take advantage of this specific canon to transform a pastoral requirement that was in force in the early church into a rule, but this time with the clear intention of carrying out reforms through a decentralization of power in the hands of local synods held annually. https://www.papalencyclicals.net/councils/ecum07.htm
And to think that the holocaust of WWII was supposedly the primary impetus for the creation of the State of Israel in the first place! Such evil!
There seems to be something about people in power that makes them turn dark as though some kind of switch had been thrown. They seem to think that because they are working for the interest of their State ordinary morality can go out the window and that they can do whatever they like to forward the State's interest. It reminds of what Jesus said about Satan being Lord of this World. But it is not only in Government but anywhere people gain power, the film industry, the Church, business, colleges, everything. Its as though gaining power gives a license to do whatever you like.
I believe I may have an answer to this. It relates to the the paradoxical nature of Christ. The last are first, God raises the lowest and so on. Positions of power have an inverse relationship with the reality of God and have a high likelihood of polarizing their hearts in the opposite direction via temptation to abuse power. In order to use power correctly they must imitate God, becoming the servant.
That is insightful. I think it also has to do with the nature of the Fallen Angels themselves. They fell because of pride and their prideful nature leads them to view the World in a skewed way. They would see it, for instance as much, much more important to bring say Emperor Nero under their control that say a little old slave lady who lives in the cave in the desert. So in a sense they are drawn to people in power because they love power so much themselves. They follow the powerful in a particular way. Whereas the the little old lady in the desert might well be a saint. It is not that they do not attack the little people but I think they are specially skewed to attack those in power. We see this so well in their attack on the Church at the moment. I think a lot of their effort has been to take over the Vatican. To take over those in power. So ordinary Catholics, the little people can see things often very clearly while those in power in Rome are massively deceived.
Yes, I believe it goes along the lines you have written. It is in reflecting on the words of the mystics this insight became apparent to me. Oddly enough it was a quote from Lao Tsu from 5 centuries before Christ where this really made itself known to me. I wasn't even looking for the quote, it was mentioned in a documentary on water featuring the Kirill. https://documentaryheaven.com/water-the-great-mystery/ Jesus called Himself the living water.
Yes. Every revolution starts out to liberate the downtrodden but quickly turns into a worse tyranny than the regimes that were overturned. The French Revolution and the Russian revolution come to mind. I think power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely as Lord Acton famously said. It's tied in with pride--the deadliest of the cardinal sins. The root of every other sin if you think about it. CS Lewis called it the tap root. The ultimate Non Serviam that infects every sin big and small.
There is increasing, credible evidence that the Holocaust was exaggerated. For example, the numbers that died in Auschwitz has been officially lowered from 3 million to 1 million, but the 6 million (a number that Zionists were throwing about for decades before WWII, for some reason) was never reviewed on that basis. Also, gassing seems to have been an invention after the fact. This is not to say that terrible things were done to the Jews-huge numbers were murdered, starved and worked to death. Unquestionably, the Nazis had a particular animus for the Jews, perhaps because the latter were primarily responsible for the massacres perpetrated by the Bolshevik revolutions in Russia, Hungary, Berlin and Munich. Even if everything claimed about the Holocaust was true, the Jews have completely obliterated any moral rights owed to them for equalling it in evil in Gaza. Netanyahu has managed to almost completely dispel the power of the words ‘Holocaust’ and ‘antisemitism’. This is a phenomenon that is probably irreversible and is probably a product of the thinking that rejects ‘The Word’. They forget that words will lose their power if they represent an untruth.
I sometimes wonder how people involved with all this can live with themselves without going insane with guilt. Bu I suppose what makes it possible is extreme racist hate. That they don't regard Palestinians as human.
How sad the above highlight is! Where would we be without the Two Hearts? Whom else to lean on in the midst of trials? How shortsighted when life is so brief as compared with eternity! And in her humility what power she wields!
Maybe that is one of the reasons Our Bless Mother keeps defeating Satan? That her humility baffles him. He can't understand it and doesn't know what to do with it.
I believe it is possible that early Christianity was called the way for this reason. The paradoxes are a stumbling block to those who hold to the conventions of the world. 1 Corinthians 1:23 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
That is exactly what I tell my friends and family. This perfect creature, who humbled herself before God and men, is more precious and powerful than anyone else...we call her Mother. Just the name of Mary is enough to stop the bad guys in their tracks... the evil one would never accept a woman being above him.
