This is where left and right in politics cannot be syncretized into the church. There is only the faith. Also nothing good will come from the protests unless they are done with Love which is God. We see this with all the angry protesting that has happened over the last decade, no change has come of it. But God does seem to be changing things through the march for life rallies.

You're wasting your time, Orangina, because, to most Americans, opposing genocide in Gaza is the same as supporting anti-American terrorism. That's the narrative. The propagandists have done their job very well. You know who controls the media and the politicians there, and America controls the IMF and many other international institutions, both financial and social. We're seeing now how money makes the world go round. Nobody is going to stop the genocide. I wonder how many will remember the abominations in Gaza when they're the wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time. We know that God will have the last word. Waiting until He calls a halt to it will be painful but all we can do now is pray and wait because those who could do something are bought and paid for, and their followers just can't or are unwilling to acknowledge that awful truth.

Pray for peace, pray for your enemies. Only then does it seem that God acts. I also remember the evangelical minister Derek Prince once quoting his wife as saying "bless our enemies Lord, you know how to bless them really good". Implying that sometimes when we pray for our enemies God does things, like give a dose of humility to them. Everything can change on a dime.

I love Fulton J. Sheen, what a thinker he was. We need more people like him in this world.

Wise words. I think that sometimes our prayers for enemies take the form of trying to manipulate God into making them do our will. Really, we should pray for their ultimate good and leave the rest to God. I find myself asking the Lord why he is allowing the children pf Abraham mislabel as the seed of Amalek those who are also the descendants of Abraham in justification to themselves and the world of the slaughter of innocents. Truth be told, those so-called seed of Amalek could well have closer ties to Abraham than the likes of Netanyahu who is an Ashkanazi Jew as, I believe, are most Jewish settlers in Palestine. The jury seems to be out as to the bloodline of the Ashkanazi. I think it likely that prejudice influences either side of that argument. Not that a person's bloodline makes a difference to their human dignity, but there's no way today's Palestinians could be the seed of Amalek. Anyway, I know that I have been guilty of expecting God to answer my prayers as I think he should. Shame on me.

I was touched by the words of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem during Holy Week:https://www.franciscans.ie/latest-news/powerful-call-for-peace/
It's all worth reading but especially where he says "........I cannot live this extremely painful time without looking upward, without looking to Christ, without the faith that enlightens my view and yours on what we are experiencing, without turning my thoughts to God. We need a Word to accompany us, to comfort and encourage us. We need it like the air we breathe."

    Then he quotes Jn. 16.33:
I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have tribulations, but take courage, I have conquered the world".

Regarding the first few sentences in your post above. I think there is a difference between the political class, the news media, and the general public in America. Don't assume the majority of the general public believes "everything" they see coming from the politicians and news media. Times have changed and the general public has lost "some degree" of trust in the information provided by these 2 groups. Most of the ppl in my limited circle support Israels fight against Hamas but they strongly dislike how Israel is conducting the war (via utter destruction of Gaza) and they also support some means of providing support and aid to non-Hamas Palestinians. The political class supports Israels war in Gaza, the news media stopped reporting on the war, and most ppl in my limited circle, although they support Israel, think its past time to end.

Thank you for sharing the link and highlighting the quote from it. It touches my heart very much, everything in it is incredible, I could weep. I hope and pray he is the next Pope.

It would be great if the Pope called for churches to open their doors for everyone to come in and light a candle for peace worldwide. People can do it anyway I know, but often people don't know that.

I've been very impressed by the Patriarch. He's one of Pope Francis's better appointments. I watched his Mass at Christmas. I can't recall whether they had managed a video link with the faithful in Gaza but I think there was some kind of link. His message for them was so heartfelt that it brought a tear to my eye.

I don't doubt for a minute that those people are genuine but, frankly, I don't believe that the politicians (both Republican and Democrat) would be so open about their wholehearted support of the genocide if they weren't confident that it plays to their base as well as to their donors.

Your friends might find this video informative. It's an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi talking about Zionism with two youngsters, one of whom is Muslim but I'm not sure about the other.. Naturally, I wouldn't agree with everything he said but sometimes he actually sounded rather Catholic. Thanks be to God, he made it clear to them that Catholics don't hold the same beliefs as Evangelical Zionists. (He pointed out that it's a Protestant belief but, in fairness, I think it's a subset of Protestantism that started out as a tiny sect in England before spreading to America). If the proposed anti-Semitism law that annoys Judge Napolitano is passed in the US, I think it possible that the Rabbi could end up in gaol for his beliefs.

It is interesting that not only is the youth starting to turn back to the faith in a genuine way. But they also seem to be waking up to zionism much more than older generations as well. What is God setting up?

American Protestants are not Christians, they are Zionist slaves...
According to them, this law is completely normal.

This is the official definition of antisemitism that Congress will vote to codify into law today, and then use it to prosecute Americans for “hate speech.” It’s extensive on purpose.

Don't worry. I thank the bill has to be passed in the Senate. They'll amend it to exempt anyone who blames the crucifixion on Putin,

Let's see America sink into the mud of the heretical teaching that the culture (this time the Jewish Zionist) has the prerogative to honestly persecute Catholics who pose a threat to it, who knows how dangerous it will be to warn that the messiah the Jews await (he who is not God Incarnate) is actually the Antichrist. Perhaps in a short time Judaism will acquire the status of official religion of the American State while Catholicism (in its authentic essence) will be prohibited from proselytizing and exercising an active ministry.

Stuff like this just spreads the exact thing they are trying to contain. I believe they call it the Streisand effect, which is somewhat prophetic because she is also Jewish.

This might be the setting of the stage for Protestants to come back to the Catholic church.

Yes, indeed, an implicit proof that Catholicism is the only religion founded by Christ is that, while Catholics follow the apostolic biblical canon of the Septuagint, Protestants follow a biblical canon defined by a Jewish synod in the second century of the Christian era. who rejected the authority of the 7 deuterocanonical books, that is, the principle of their authority in the primordial sense, is in the hands of a group of Jews who also rejected the ministry of Christ and his divinity. In a sense, Protestantism and Judaism are intertwined, but when the Bible, in its entirety, becomes the target of censorship and persecution by Zionist groups, then many evangelicals may wake up.

It appears this way, and the more that Zionists try to force their hand the more it seems to backfire. So when I see stuff like trying to censor the bible, a book which well over 2 billion people in the world ascribe to, it shows me they are losing control of the narrative. Which I believe directly translates over into what is occurring in Gaza among other activities.
