The Church in Australia is under attack at present.

We have a politician who is focused on having a 'Royal Commision' into the Catholic Church and their sex scandals. :(

He isn't wanting it with the scouts groups, school teachers Anglicans or any other group. Just the Catholics.

    I'm hating it.

People are left thinking this is what the Catholic Church stands for, and it isn't.

The Church is suffering isn't it? :(

It is people like me who hold some of this responsibility.

When I first heard about Garabandal some 30 years ago.
Did I pray for our priest?
NO. I didn't. I just thought.... "Why do they need our prayers?"

If only we could turn our clocks back.o_O

      • Dear brothers and sisters after the great Pope, John Paul II, the cardinals have elected me, a simple and humble worker in the Lord's vineyard. The fact that the Lord can work and act even with insufficient means consoles me, and above all I entrust myself to your prayers. In the joy of the resurrected Lord, we go on with his help. He is going to help us and Mary will be on our side. Thank you.

    • As the trend in the ballots slowly made me realize that — in a manner of speaking the guillotine would fall on me — I started to feel quite dizzy. I thought that I had done my life's work and could now hope to live out my days in peace. I told the Lord with deep conviction, 'Don't do this to me. You have younger and better (candidates) who could take up this great task with a totally different energy and with different strength.' Evidently, this time he didn't listen to me.

      • During interview by Niels Christian Hvidt in 1999
We do not seek a Christ whom we have invented, for only in the real communion of the Church do we encounter the real Christ.

"He has the intelligence of 12 professors and is as pious as a child on the day of his first communion."
Dear young people: What will you leave to the next generation? Are you building your lives on firm foundations? Are you living in a way that opens a space for the Spirit in the midst of a world that wants to forget God, or even rejects him in the name of a falsely-conceived freedom? How are you using the gifts you have been given, the 'power' that the Holy Spirit is even now prepared to release within you?
    • That the Jews are connected with God in a special way and that God does not allow that bond to fail is entirely obvious. We wait for the instant in which Israel will say yes to Christ, but we know that it has a special mission in history now ... which is significant for the world.
      • from Ratzinger's book, God and the World, published October 2000, as reported by National Catholic Reporter.
    • Our Christian conviction is that Christ is also the messiah of Israel. Certainly it is in the hands of God how and when the unification of Jews and Christians into the people of God will take place.

    • REGARDING THE SEX ABUSE SCANDALS--
    • How much filth there is in the Church, even among those who, in the priesthood, should belong entirely to Him. How much pride, how much self-sufficiency.
      • At a Good Friday Mass in 2005, seen by many as a statement about the clergy sex abuse scandal
    • In the Church, priests also are sinners. But I am personally convinced that the constant presence in the press of the sins of Catholic priests, especially in the United States, is a planned campaign, as the percentage of these offenses among priests is not higher than in other categories, and perhaps it is even lower.
    • In the United States, there is constant news on this topic, but less than 1 percent of priests are guilty of acts of this type. The constant presence of these news items does not correspond to the objectivity of the information nor to the statistical objectivity of the facts.

    • I think the essential point is a weakness of faith.

  2. You can. Unite yourself everyday to the DIVINE WILL OF THE TRINITY. UNITE yourself to all the Masses said from the last supper until now for the intention you desire to pray for. Unite yourself between the two hearts of Jesus and Mary and pray for 'all the things I've done, and all those that I have 'failed to do'. ...not through your merits, but through the merits of our dear Blessed Mother and her FIAT!

Sins of omission are often ignored in our examination of conscience. I wonder if the Illumination will also make us more conscious of this?

I'm sure those sins in which we never confessed will be very clear during the warning.

Brother Stanley said when Jesus showed him his life, the film went very slow when he was in sin especially those sins that weren't confessed.

We have to give it our best now.
How lucky we are to have a merciful Father. :)

There is one thing that is bothering me very much.

I think it was Conchita who said to Mary 50 years ago.. "please take me with you now."

Mary answered something like.."You have to have your hands full of 'good deeds' before you can enter Heaven, and your hands are still empty."

So I ask myself. "What have I done?"

I haven't got my hands full of good deeds.
Ok. I have done a little, very little. But not enough and I'm certainly doing nothing now.

    I keep thinking about it.
But when am I going to get off my backside and do something about it?

Something is holding me back. What is it? What am I scared of?
    Is it committment?

I wonder if Jesus will accept me when I say "I was thinking about serving and taking the load off Your shoulders."
    Oh my. :(

Jane you are sweet! I too have this on my heart and I know there is alot more I could do. It seems everyday is such a struggle and so much to do, and time flys so fast!...I just took to offering up my whole day, and trying my best, and telling Jesus to PLEASE put something in front of me and I will definately do it! Otherwise, I'm just not on track...

If taken to court for being a Christian there would not be enough proof to convict me at the minute:oops:.

I am most definitely a 'work in progress' and proof that God chooses the weakest of this world for His own kind purposes. Thanks be to God that he is the 'Prodigal' Father otherwise I would continue to eat of the husks of this world. He calls us to devine sonship yet we prefer the baubles and trinkets of this life.

Carmel333. That is a lovely thing to say about me. But I'm sorry, I find it hard to see myself as a "sweet" person.
There are lots of lovely words you can use to discribe a person. Not too many are fit for me. But I suppose if there is one good word that can be said, I suppose I am generous.
Sad to think there aren't many good words I can put together about myself.

Gee, i hope I don't die soon. What can they say about me at my funeral. o_O
To tell you the truth. When I write on this forum, I just write what I am thinking, it seems to be easy as no one knows me, and I can speak from the heart.

Oh, I bet you're wrong. I bet there is plenty of proof to convict you. :)

I have sometimes wondered?..... When push comes to shove, would I truly stand for Jesus Christ? I would like to think I would. But even Peter denied Jesus.
    Would I be that brave?
    Can I die a martyr?
To be there for Christ in our last moment.
Could be easier said than done.
But this is something we need to consider and prepare for just in case. :)

But this seems to ignore Our Lady of Fatima's promise that in the end Her Immaculate Heart would triumph and that a "period of peace" would follow this event. Her Heart definitely hasn't triumphed yet and every period of time has an ending and so clearly the start of this period cannot coincide with the 'end of time'. The Church is suffering some of the symptoms of an apostasy but this doesn't necessarily mean that this is the 'Great Apostasy' which comes with the worship of the person of the Anti-Christ.

I too don't believe that 'the' anti-Christ is in the world today. There are many who oppose Christ and are anti-Christs in that sense. Also the NWO is anti-Christ system attempting to subjugate us all. My take is that we are going into a period of purification which will be followed by a long period of peace. The warning and the miracle are part of the purification of the world as are the tribulations - these are in the Book of the Apocalypse.

Catholic prophecies speaks of the anti-Christ coming after the period of peace.

Someone asked if I could post some of Glen Hudson's posts from Facebook, saying they couldn't get FB. There are alot and all of them about truths of Garabandal and also news on Conchita, whom he is a friend of in New York. Here is one showing Conchita's relationship with Mother Teresa I thought was interesting:

A new member asked did I confuse Mother Angelica and Mother Teresa, as supporters of Garabandal, obviously the answer is "no". She had not heard that Mother Teresa believed in the apparitions. So here's some info & pictures I promised.
The famous Foundress of the Missionaries of Charity has never expressed any doubts about her profound belief in the divine origin of Garabandal: "It was in 1970 that I heard about the apparitions of San Sebastian de Garabandal for the first time . . . From the beginning, I felt that the 'events' were authentic . . ." (Letter of November 10, 1987 to Msgr. del Val).
During her frequent trips to the United States, notably to New York, Mother Teresa had the opportunity of meeting Conchita who has lived on Long Island since 1972. This was the beginning of a strong human and spiritual friendship that never faltered. Mother Teresa is the godmother of Conchita’s third daughter, Anna Maria.

I thank you Carmel for 'waking up' this thread. I had forgotten I had asked my first question about Garabandal here. :)
I think it would be nice if we could use this thread together with Garabandal News. But the difference would be that with this thread there would be no tip-toeing about because of the feeling that the thread belongs to someone that is easily offended.

    Anyways.

Your link provides photo evidence of the friendship of Mother Teresa and Conchita, but i don't find any text.
I am not a member of Facebook. I would like to read a sample of the posts of Glen Hudson.

Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a major earthquake (or earthquakes) right before the Warning? I though I read that, but now I don't recall if it was a legitimate condition stated by the visionaries or not.

Just curious, because I stumbled across a group that believes they discovered an earthquake pattern that runs every 188 days (+/- half a day), dating back to 1965. Apparently they have been increasing in magnitude for the past few years, and they are predicting large earthquakes on the next 188 day date.

Apparently these dates coincide with Jewish feast days somehow, and in the last couple years counting backward, they were September 25-26, 2012, March 21-22, 2012, September 15-16, 2011, March 11-12, 2011.

The next is supposed to be April 1-2, 2013. (which happens to be 9-10 days prior to a date some have predicted for the Miracle, so if that miracle date were actually true, the Warning would have to occur by April 3, 2013, which I suppose could happen just after major earthquakes, if they occurred on April 2...).

...Or...this could be total craziness, and belongs in the "wierd and paranormal thread".... ;)

On Joey's website one of the books he has to download is Garabandal The Village Speaks. On page 42 it talks about prophecies not yet fulfilled. One is about a religious vocation. It states {One day when Maximina had given up her beds to host some visitors to the village and had made her own children sleep on the floor, Conchita, in ecstasy, stops where her cousin Pepe Luis is lying and says in a loud and intelligible voice, as though answering her vision. "Ah! this one will be a priest? Ah! good!" She gives him the crucifix to kiss, then leaves. Pepe was then 3 or 4 years old.} Has anyone heard this prediction?

I had a vague feeling that i must have read something similar in the book She Went in Haste to the Mountain.

An internet search on Pepe Luis has led me to the pleasant discovery that the Garbandal site whatisgarabandal 'serialized' the book ( thus page # 167 assigned is rather the 167th installment posted by the site) It makes this important book accessible to an internet search from without : wow :)

I paste the relevant part that would seem to answer your question.

But I do not want to pass over a letter that Maximina González wrote to Dr. Ortiz on the following Sunday, which is dated simply August, 1962,3)

« . . . I didn’t hear it personally, but some of those who were there heard it, among them a priest. And it was on one of those nights that Conchita came to my home, where I was lodging some people from Catalana.(4) My children were sleeping on a mattress laid on the floor, and I had put chairs around it so that no one would see them like this. Conchita came in ecstasy and went into the downstairs rooms and made the sign of the cross over the beds. And then she
went where some children of the people from Catalana were sleeping and she gave them the crucifix to kiss.

Then Conchita left; but she stopped on the stairway and said a few things. And later she let out a laugh and turned around and went straight toward where I had hidden my children. (I was perspiring with dread that they would be seen
on the floor like that.) She made her way through the chairs and fell on her knees next to the children. She spoke for a while and at that time she was heard to say, Oh! So he is going to be a priest?

And she gave the cross to both of them, but to the little boy she made a cross at his feet — only the little boy.

I mentioned this yesterday, Saturday, to a missionary priest from Bilbao who was in my home for a while. And he told me that the cross that Conchita made at the feet of the little boy was something very mysterious . . .(5) I don’t know how he explained it to me, but I’m very happy. Fr. Luis Retenaga prayed for the child and blessed him many times; and it could be that the Virgin heard him, since my son from his youth has been saying that he wants to be a priest. May God will it! May he be a good one.(6)

    4. Maximina used to provide lodging in her home for the visitors to Garabandal. This time she over-committed herself to such a point that there were no beds left for her own daughter and son to sleep in.

    5. I do not understand the explanation of the missionary father (who surely was the Claretian that Father Valentín mentions in his notes, since those of the congregation founded by St. Anthony Claret are officially called Missionary Sons of the Heart of Mary). But it well might be related to the ancient words of Isaiah (52:7), repeated later by Nahum (2:1), and finally applied by St. Paul (Romans 10:15) to the Church and the preachers of the Gospel, to the traveling missionaries: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things.

    6. This desire of a good Christian mother like Maximina is understandable; and also her concern for his being good, for there is nothing more lamentable than a priest unfaithful to his calling.

The boy to whom this refers, Pepe Luis, after starting his studies at the seminary near to Fr. Retenaga in Rentería (Guipuzcoa), continued for some years at Comillas (Santander).

After this, prior to being ordained, he did leave the seminary. During his first Christmas vacation in 1964, his cousin Conchita wrote him a beautiful prayer entitled The Prayer of a Young Seminarian. The students in our seminaries today could be inspired by the letter and the spirit of this prayer.

I do not know about the rest of you, but I feel that my hands will be full very soon. I am currently in a prayfull time of preperation and sacrifice, trying to wean myself of many imprefections. Yet, I am confident that my preperation: daily rosary, fasting, First Satruday Devotion, confession, always thinking about God, and family life are all in preperation for what God through His Blessed Mother are making ready for me soon. I don't know how....I don't know when...but I am convinced my opportunities are not far off. Currently, no one... I mean I can count on one hand the number of people in my family, friends, chruch, anywhere.... who doesn't think I am somewhat nuts for all the things I am doing to prepare. When the day comes, I know that I will not have to wonder how God desires to use me. Soon we will all know why we bother....bother to study, bother to discern, bother to want to speak to anyone who might want to listen. But for now, I am an island in my preparations, like the calm before the storm.

  19. I think we think a lot alike Fatima. I too am preparing and find myself outside of my body and looking in. All is SO SUPERFICIAL!! I just saw some red lipstick in the bathroom that my 12 year old and her friend were using to 'dress up' with. I put some on and looked at myself in the mirror...and I had to laugh. THATS how I see the world! Everyone is walking around with red lipstick on and its so false, so full of pretense, so flagrantly flawed...I know we are all sinners and I am REALLY trying not to be judgmental, because I am pathetic. But I REALLY don't want to talk about anything else but God, and the reality of his blessings and the struggles of us all. I just want to share with all the miracles he has shown me and the awe that I have discovered in His truth. I'm not making very many friends here where I live....Its a challenge. It IS THE CALM before the storm....no doubt!
