As someone who is a firm believer in the extraordinary apparitions and messages of Garabandal I was somewhat puzzled by some comments that some who have seen the new movie have posted. The posts come from Don Antonio Yague´s forum (the sacred astronomer - remember him?). I have not seen the movie so cannot confirm any of the information below but it seems that the new movie, though definitely worth seeing, is disappointing in some regards (the posts are in Spanish but I will translate the relevant facts below): There is absolutely no mention of the "night of the screams" in which the girls were shown the coming chastisement; There is no mention of the coming warning; Likewise, absolutely no mention of the coming miracle and permanent sign; In fact, the movie leads one to believe that the miracle already happened and it was the "milagruco", when a host materialized in Conchita´s mouth; There is no mention of the conditional chastisement, except when the messages are read; Also, Father Andreu mysteriously disappears halfway through the movie - no mention that he dies, arguably because that would require mentioning the miracle which he witnessed; No mention of the prophecy of the three (or four) popes; No mention of the end times and that Garabandal is specifically linked to the end times. These seem to be extraordinary omissions. Does anybody know why a movie on Garabandal would fail to mention topics which are at the very center of the Garabandal apparitions? Por supuesto, porque la muerte del Padre Luis Andreu implica mencionar el milagro. Además, pareciera en la película como si el "milagruco" fuera el milagro. Del aviso ni el más mínimo atisbo, y el castigo se menciona solo porque leen los textos tanto del primer mensaje (que habla del castigo, pero no lo describe como en la noche de los gritos) como del segundo mensaje. Mucho menos se atreverían a mencionar referencias temporales, como la que tuvo Conchita con su madre acerca de los Papas que quedan para el "fin de los tiempos", entrando además en esa conversación en el tema de diferenciar fin del mundo y fin de los tiempos. Todo se limita en la película a decir que el mensaje es supersencillo, que hay que ser buenos, o si no vendrá un castigo. Ninguna concesión a cualquier papel profético de la Virgen. Pese a toda esta concesión al escepticismo de la jerarquía, la película no está mal en general, y en mi caso, como profesor de religión, pienso sacar partido de ella cuando esté a la venta, siempre acompañándola de documentales y documentos que completen el mensaje de Garabandal. Creo que está bien la acumulación de pruebas, muchas de ellas peticiones internas que fueron respondidas por las niñas a órdenes de la Virgen. También me gustó el papel del brigada de la guardia civil Luis Alvarez Seco y el del Padre Valentín. Efectivamente, se queda a medias, pero al menos sí sale reflejada la frialdad burocrática con que fue tratado el asunto, el escepticismo inamovible como actitud. Ahí es donde está el papel de Alberto Bárcena (tan serio, altanero y lejano). Dice en la película Don Valentín, el párroco, que empezó a creer cuando se enteró que sus informes iban directamente a la papelera. También habla del testimonio falso de un fraile haciendo por quedar como tramposa a Conchita en el milagruco, ya que le dice a los jerarcas que la hostia se la llevó ella a la boca desde la mano en un rápido movimiento, y luego este fraile vino a pedir disculpas a Don Valentín por haber mentido. Of course even with the omissions, after seeing the movie hopefully thousands will look for further information on Garabandal and THEN they will learn about the warning, the miracle, the permanent sign, the chastisement etc.
As disappointing as that is... Yes, we can only hope & pray it will make viewers curious enough to look further! For me, the mere mention or association some time ago that it was a continuation of Fatima was enough for me to pause and question "What is this?!" since I had never heard any whisper of it.
Disappointing to be sure, but curious why the omission as the purpose is to share and inform as many as possible. Perhaps the intention was to create enough curiosity without en-siting panic in those who have heard nothing?
Well, I am hearing that it is selling out all throughout Spain, so the objective was to raise awareness of the story, and in that respect it is succeeding.
When it comes to MI..GR I will be posting it on a couple of closed Catholic websites I know of locally. I sure hope it comes here!
My thoughts exactly. I'm going to go out on a limb and say imo Garabandal is not only the continuation of Fatima but is on a par with Fatima as far as manifestations of heaven are concerned. Lets pray the movie is a BIG hit!

The commentary on these outstanding absences of the script is common in all those who have seen it. However, I have not seen any explanation from the film's authors for these important omissions. It only occurs to me that they do not want to bother excessively the ecclesiastical authority, so that at least the current status of the absence of canonical prohibitions continues so that the priests can visit Garabandal and can pray and say Mass there. Personally, I find too much concession to the hierarchy, after so many years of "none of the obvious." The fruits of this way will not be proportional to the effort that it has cost them to make the film to take out of the drawer of the forgetfulness to Garabandal. Yague is given as the source for the negative comments on "Solo Dios lo Sabe," but no definite source is given for the list of omissions. I have read most of the testimonies and professional reviews and have seen few, if any viewers, complain of these omissions. Yes, it seems like the movie left out a lot. It is difficult to cover everything in a movie. Compare, for example, any of the movies (one of them filmed within walking distance (long walk) to the west of Garabandal) about the Andes survivors with the Best selling Alive by Piers Paul Read. One criticism I have read more than once is that only two of the actors are outstanding, those playing Conchita and the Guardia Civil officer. The rest receive mediocre reviews at best. From the beginning I have wondered how college girls will be made to look like the young visionaries. Loli, for example, often wearing the same sweater with the hole in the sleeve, looks more like an eight year old than a soon to be teenager. It will be interesting to see. Even though I left Santander less than a year ago, I thought, for a moment, about going back to see the movie shown at el cine Los Angeles. With a cast and of volunteers and unpaid technicians, it seems amazing that it has been so well received. Directors of the production company, Mater Spei, seem pleased with requests coming from all over the world for the movie to be shown in local theaters. Despite imperfections, we well might see that Garabandal, Solo Dios lo Sabe, accomplishes more good than all the rest of us who have by speaking and writing about Garabandal for years. By popular demand, the movie has already been shown in a second theater in Santander. I saw a brief interview you did for a short documentary on Garabandal and I believe that everyone on MOG who believes in the apparitions at Garabandal is thankful for all the work you have done to promote the messages throughout so many years! This is what all of us who believe in Garabandal pray for. As far as Yves Dupont is concerned, there is NO reference to Garabandal in his famous "Catholic Prophecy", as far as I can remember. Possibly because it was a new phenomenon and he was discerning it? All his references to Garabandal come, I believe, from the articles he wrote for "World Trends", available on the link Carol posted above.
As Carol pointed out in another thread Dupont does mention Garabandal in his book. They are two passing references but they are there.
