Jesus comments on belief of Garabandal before the Miracle

From “Conchita’s Dairy” pages 53,54, (Feb.13,1966) : He [Jesus] replied..."I want to tell you, Conchita, that before the miracle occurs, you will suffer much, for few people will believe you. Your own family will believe that you have deceived them. I am the one who wants all this, as I have already told you, for your sanctification and so that the world may comply with the message. I wish to advise you that the remainder of your life will be a continual suffering. Do not be frightened. In your suffering you will find me and also Mary whom you love very much... I will be with whoever suffers for me. I am with him."

“One day, before the Miracle, something will happen that will cause many people to stop believing in the apparitions of Garabandal. The doubts and desertions will not be due to an excessive delay of the Miracle.”

LEG MIRACULOUSLY CURED ! AUGUST 22,1962

We have some brief notes from Father Valentin that complement those of Luis Navas and Maximina Gonzalez, helping us to better recreate in our minds the atmosphere at Garabandal during the early part of August, 1962: August 22.

The four fell into ecstasy; first Loli and Conchita; afterwards, Jacinta; and finally, Mari Cruz. The latter, on coming down from the Pines, went to the house of Daniela (who was in bed, with her leg in bad condition making it impossible for her to walk). And she gave her the crucifix to kiss. Daniela jumped from the bed and said she was cured. I think there might have been some suggestion, but she jumped up and went up the stairs as if there were nothing wrong with her. We will see what happens tomorrow.

Father Valentin did not hide his disbelief that this was really a miraculous cure. However Father de la Riva added to the words of the Garabandal pastor some of his own: "I was at the village, and I heard the joyful shouts of the people who had seen what had happened, and were discussing it as if it were a miracle. I was able to see later that there was no natural explanation for what happened. Daniela went to have an x-ray taken and a complete cure was reported. She is now married and has children, which wouldn't have been possible with the disease she had in her hip."
“She went in haste to the Mountain” chapter 3, page 61

This story has special meaning to me personally, as it was a miraculous cure on my own legs as a boy, from the medal that Joey Lomangino was given by Conchita, that “ Mary kissed”, that brought me to know and get involved with Joey Lomangino and volunteer at the New York Garabandal Center later as an adult. Sometimes we don’t understand or appreciate how a physical handicap can actually be a blessing from God, how he uses it for his glory, until later on. Praise be to God.

Today in Garabandal History: AUGUST 23, 1961:

    UNPARALLELED AND LIVING PRESENCE
    OF THE "CRUCIFIX" IN GARABANDAL

Their small crucifix in their hands,
the visionaries in ecstasy before the closed door of the church.

Within the limits allowed by the Note from Msgr. Doroteo Fernandez and never in opposition to them, the church of Garabandal remains a major pole of the apparitions. In each one of them, or almost, the visionaries returned there to pray before the closed door. There, on several occasions, the Angel even gave them Communion.

On the day following the interdiction we know, the girls, in ecstasy before the closed door and on the advice of their Vision, suddenly decided to get a crucifix from their homes . . . except Mari-Cruz (for personal family reasons). It is interesting to note that this invitation and inspiration of "wearing a crucifix" happened on the very day of the Feast, then celebrated on August 23 in the universal Church, of St. Philip Benizi who was one of the seven founders of the "Servites of Mary." At the moment of his death he had cried out: "Give me my book!" (that is, "my crucifix!"). Henceforth, the visionaries in ecstasy would systematically be equipped with one. This gesture, in its clear reference to the Passion, takes all its meaning in Garabandal, most especially with the second and ultimate Message (June 18, 1965) of which, as we shall see, it will be precisely the final word.

During the apparitions, the visionaries would present their crucifix to be kissed, sometimes kiss it themselves, or make the sign of the cross with it over those present, notably over those who, very often in secret prayer, "were asking for proofs" . . . The children also made the sign of the cross with it over persons lying down and asleep, on the forehead of the sick, on the heads of beds (twice if two persons slept in them), over the vehicles of visitors, etc.

The kiss of the crucifix played an immense role at San Sebastian de Garabandal, giving rise in those benefited from this, to profound emotions, healings and even to remarkable conversions.

LETTER SIGNED BY CONCHITA TO THE FRENCH YOUNG PEOPLE WHO VISITED THE PEOPLE OF GARABANDAL.

    Dear young French people:

From you the Virgin desires help to turn the world and avoid God's wrath upon us sinners.

She trusts you so that with your example and selflessness you will be models for the other young people who have not had the thanks that you have to hear the messages of the Virgin. She asks you so much spirit of penance, sacrifice and prayer. Without these weapons nothing we can do.

It's not much time we have, but it's enough to avoid great punishment and content our Mother's Holy Heart.

It is in the Holy Sacrament that you will find enough strength to embark on this life that the Virgin is constantly asking you to go to the Blessed, to empty your heart of worldly things that will not let you hear God.

If you do this you will start living life happy, because only happiness you have never felt will be found in the surrender to God and the Virgin.

Pray for one another, for yourselves, ask the Virgin. Order it with faith and trust. She will give you everything good for you.

And now for me and my friends I ask you to pray to God and the Virgin to be humble and sacrificial and all together to think more about Jesu s' Passion, to forget about ourselves.

In togetherness of prayers, and that one day forever we can meet in Heaven to be eternally happy.

    Conchita Gonzalez.

    August 25, 1961

On August 25, 1961, the tiny village of San Sebastián de Garabandal, Spain, experienced a massive influx of visitors. Following the initial June apparitions of Saint Michael the Archangel and the subsequent appearances of the Blessed Virgin Mary, word of mouth spread exponentially.

By August 25, large crowds, including five priests and numerous medical doctors, gathered at the site to observe the four young visionaries (Conchita, Mari Loli, Jacinta, and Mari Cruz) during their ecstatic trances. Doctors closely monitored the girls' physical anomalies during these events—such as backward "ecstatic marches," unblinking eyes under bright lights, and the inability of multiple adults to lift or move them—which helped solidify early interest in the phenomena.

I want to talk about the walking backward especially at night (which is more impressive) has been suggested as diabolical by opponents of Garabandal. The walking backwards actually started when Mary led the girls into the church, where she would appear in an apparition to them. As they exited the church, the girls always walked backwards away from the blessed sacrament, as Mary instructed them to exit backwards rather than turning their backs on Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. This happened while they carried crucifixes and recited the rosary while exiting backwards. (Demonic people don’t carry crucifixes and recite the rosary) How would the devil benefit from any of this? This was a ridiculous desperate accusation hoping to discredit the apparitions.

These ecstatic marches were obviously not a diabolical sign but instead, just the opposite, another Heavenly sign of authenticity of the apparitions, a reminder to always do a daily rosary, and a sign of respect for Jesus, before the Blessed Sacrament.

Many people have written me asking if the current visit to the Russian Federation by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Holy See Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, fulfills the Garabandal prophecy before the Warning. I can say that I am absolutely sure it DOES NOT. The prophecy must be fulfilled by a Pope, visiting MOSCOW. (As world tensions seem to be escalating, maybe this diplomatic mission, is the precursor to a papal visit).
    Here is the actual quotes:
From book "GARABANDAL: Apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary”, by Jacques Serre , contains the passage on page 132 about the pope's trip to Moscow. MAY 4, 1962,
“On that day, Mari Loli and Conchita received new and prophetic revelations about the future tribulations of a brief yet very difficult time of the Pre- Aviso. Conchita said also during her ecstasy that “ Communism will come back also to Spain.” The Blessed Virgin also predicted to the Visionary that “ the Pope would go to Russia, to Moscow.”
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
Albrecht Weber's book ( The Finger of God ) contains this statement attributed to Conchita: "The pope will go to Russia, to Moscow. As soon as he returns to the Vatican, hostilities will break out in different parts of Europe." [The source for this information was also requested. Mr. Weber responded: "Conchita said this in a long conversation at her house on November 14,1965."]

Conchita & Jesus’s comments on belief and approval of Garabandal. August 27, 1981
Conchita: “ I would also like to say about Rome that there are people there who want to put too much pressure on the Church. I believe that it is better to leave it as it is, and to do what they can. They should try to speak about the Virgin’s Message, but the rest they should leave in God’s hands.”
The Lord Himself said to me: “Don’t worry about whether they believe you or not, especially in Rome. I will do everything. “ “This is what I would like to say to all those who want for Rome and the Bishop to move ahead.”

Conchita’s Interview with Monsignor Francisco Garmendia, Auxiliary Bishop of New York on the date in New York on August 27, 1981. Reprinted in the GARABANDAL JOURNAL, March-April 2004

August 28, 2014 Carlos Osoro Sierra :promoted to Archbishop

Carlos Osoro Sierra of Oviedo was promoted Archbishop of Madrid. In 2016 he was promoted to Cardinal !

Conchita received a letter, dated February 12, 2007, from Archbishop Carlos Sierra of Oviedo, then the acting Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Santander, which read:

“I want you to know that I am open to receiving and considering all information about Garabandal, and would like to continue—as long as our Holy Father wishes me to serve as Apostolic Administrator—the work that my brothers at the Bishopric have already done in reference to this subject. What I have just done is authorize the priests to go to Garabandal and hold Holy Mass at the Parish, at any desired time, and to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to anyone that wishes to receive it. I am sure the next Bishop will promote further studies to examine in depth the Garabandal events and will send the findings to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome. I respect apparitions and have known of authentic conversions. How can we not always feel the need to open our heart to our Mother Mary to tell her that we need her protection, her help, her courage, her hope, her faith and her love when faced with these events! I encourage you to keep maintaining such devotion toward our Mother”.

-Carlos Osoro Sierra, Archbishop of Oviedo.

August 29, 1961 The day Our Lady refused to kiss a picture of Fidel Castro!

“One of the cases happened on the night of August 29, 1961. Among the objects left on the table, an unknown person left a picture of FIDEL CASTRO's face. Without seeing anything, Jacinta raised it up to the VIRGIN, AND SHE RESISTED IN KISSING him, she commented to Loli: - She said that “ this person killed all the Priests”. "And all the nuns," said Jacinta, who must also have heard the Virgin's explanation.”
Text extracted from "Garabandal": the final times.”, CESCA, Olivo. Editora Myrian, 1990. pp. 65-67

I spoke with Conchita on July 23, 2018 and she did tell me that Fidel Castro’s sister Juanita Castro had visited Garabandal several times, as she lived in a neighboring town called Asturias , and always dressed in black, as a penance. We can only assume she was the one who left the picture. She asked for prayers for her brother Fidel.- Glenn
