What a lesson on the frailty of life! But I'm glad you are still with us. May Our Lady wrap you in her Mantle of Motherly Love. May your apostolate go on!
This day in Garabandal history, APRIL 13, 1962 A sacramental communion given by St. Michael to Conchita in ecstasy at the Pines, on the feast day of St. Hermenegild, a martyr of the Eucharist honored as the “Clovis” of Spain. From the book : “GARABANDAL” J. Serre. p.130 Now before you jump to any conclusions about him as the “Miracle Martyr” remember there are several possible problems with St. Hermenegild, who by some accounts was Spanish, and Conchita said the martyr saint was not Spanish. We have no idea how old he was, though he was a grown, married man, and also he does not fit the description Conchita gave “The Miracle will be on the feastday of a young martyr of the Eucharist, a boy who carried Communion to persecuted Christians. So, I feel fairly confident this is not that “Miracle Martyr”.

Hi Glenn, I'm new to this forum, but I've followed Garabandal and you for years. Thanks for all of your efforts to propagate the message of the blessed Virgin. May she draw you to her Immaculate Heart and safeguard your health.
I didn’t get a chance to post this last week for obvious reasons,so I am posting today. I thought it was important for women to read this. Fashions dragging girls to Hell ? April 11, 1993, Interview with Conchita’s oldest brother, Serafin Gonzalez. Question: “ What did the Virgin say to the girls about fashions? “ Serafin: ”She told them that fashions drag people to hell and they should dress with decency and modesty if they want to be saved. These were her words. Much more meaningful now than it was back then when you consider the disaster all around (with the fashions). It didn’t make much sense back then, but it does now.” “GARABANDAL” magazine, July-September 1993

Sacrifice On November 4, 1961, barely fifteen days after the First Message's publication, the Virgin Mary gives the girls the new task of waking up early and praying the Rosary at sunrise in the "Calleja." "Jacinta and Mari Cruz used to go at six o'clock in the morning. During Holy Week, [Our Lady] told me to go at five o'clock in the morning, and so I did, because the Virgin Mary always wishes that we do penance."From "Conchita's Diary". The words of the First Message, dated October 18, were palpable during these Rosaries, "We must make many sacrifices, do much penance." Notwithstanding, the Virgin Mary teaches the girls that penance is not the most important lesson in her visits. Conchita tells us about this lesson that they learned, "One day, during an apparition of the Virgin Mary, we were wearing the cilicio, although very loosely, and we would touch it every once in a while so that She could see that we were wearing it (it was on our waist). Finally, She said, "Yes, I know that you are wearing it. But that is not precisely what I ask of you, nor that which most pleases me, but rather your faithfulness in daily life." Here the Virgin Mary teaches us that while She had asked them to make sacrifices and always do penance, these do not constitute the end that God expects of them. They are just a means to dispose the soul to be faithful, to love, and to be humble. If sacrifices do not produce humility but instead vainglory, they no longer please Her. What She expects from us is faithfulness in our daily duties and in the little things in order to be faithful in greater matters.
God bless you Glenn. Just catching up and happy that you are recovering. I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you for all you do for Our Lady.
Mary says the word "Purgatory" ! "GARABANDAL" Magazine, April 16, 1983 Interview with Jacinta Gonzalez Moynihan Q. “ Did the Virgin ever speak about Purgatory?” A. “ Yes” Q. “ Did she actually use the word Purgatory ? “ A. “Yes, because she said many souls go there”. POPE BENEDICT XVI BIRTHDAY TODAY, APRIL 16, 1927 Pope Benedict XVI & Garabandal Pope Benedict XVI knew all about Garabandal , and been very receptive to learning more about it. Not only has he met and interviewed Conchita, ( When I personally spoke to Conchita about the meeting in the Vatican 1968 , she told me she only met him when he was Cardinal Ratzinger, not as Pope Benedict obviously.) He had all the latest investigation papers, eyewitness testimonies of the miracles, etc. performed through the intercession of Our Lady of Garabandal, sent to him by the well known promoter the late Fr. Francis Benac, S.J. He has also read the Garabandal book “ O Children Listen to Me “ Cardinal Ratzinger became the Prefect (head) of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, on November 25, 1981,the Vatican department in charge of protecting the sacred deposit of the faith handed on from the apostles. Considering how close he was with Pope John Paul II, who was a vocal supporter of Garabandal, him meeting Conchita, reading up on the subject, it’s no surprise to me, that he is a believer too. The reason I say this is I have it on good authority that he has conveyed his belief to a Vatican priest ,who is also a Canon Lawyer (who wishes to remain nameless ). According to journalist John L. Allen Jr.'s 2005 biography entitled: 'Pope Benedict XVI: A Biography of Joseph Ratzinger' (pages 118-119 ) his interest in Garabandal began long before becoming Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. It actually began when he was a professor of theology at the Gustav Siewerth Haus Academy, located in Germany's Black Forest. Every summer he gave a course in dogmatic exegesis at the private academy from 1970 thru 1979. It is said that he knew of and took the Garabandal apparitions seriously even then. Author John Allen, Jr. confirmed this from several of Joseph Ratzinger's former graduate students. Monsignor Juan Antonio del Val, in addition to giving permission for the movie made by BBC, made a personal investigation for several years about the Apparitions of Garabandal and is one of the witnesses on the video, “Garabandal, the Eyewitnesses,” produced by Michael Tubberty and published in more than thirty languages by Monsignor Roman Danylak, titular Bishop of Nyssa, Rome, Italy. (January 24, 2000). 1989 Monsignor del Val finally opens the Second Commission (with the support of Rome) testifies that the findings of the investigation of the Apparitions of the Most Holy Virgin Mary in Garabandal were sent to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith; more specifically, to Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. ( This led to Pope Benedict XVI confirming belief in Garabandal).
