    3 Girls went into convents.

Many people have commented over the years “ Why didn’t the girls become Nuns after the apparitions ?
Most people don’t know that actually 3 of the 4 girls did enter convents ! Conchita, Jacinta, and Mari Loli did for a short time, then left for different reasons, and became boarding students instead. Mary Cruz did not go at all. On February 7,1966 Conchita (on her 17th birthday) enters the Discalced Carmelites Missionaries of Pamplona. On February 13,1966 she has a locution from Jesus, where he tells her this was not his wish to be here. Both Jacinta and Mari Loli were 16 at the time they decided to enter a convent. On September 30, 1965 they left for the Sisters of Charity of St. Ann, in the Aragon town of Borja. Jesus said to Conchita: “ I choose you in the world, that is, in the normal condition of the faithful, so that you would remain in it. “
I guess our Lord had other plans and vocations for the girls, to remain in the world, and not hidden away in a convent.

Spanish bishop makes statement on alleged apparitions at Garabandal
    Oct 20, 2022

    https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/...tatement-on-alleged-apparitions-at-garabandal

The bishop of Santander, Manuel Sánchez Monge, has stated regarding the extraordinary events of Garabandal that “my position, like that of my predecessors, is that Rome’s assessment remains valid: ‘There are no signs of supernaturality.’”o_O

God bless the good Bishop, but me thinks he may be in for a surprise or two at some point in time ~~

Unfortunately like many of the other Bishops, this Bishop DID NOT TAKE A MINUTE TO INVESTIGATE THE APPARITIONS, and this is proven by two of his claims which are completely FALSE ! The Vatican HAS NEVER RULED ON GARABANDAL ! And I dare anyone to show me any document from the Vatican or any Pope. (As a matter of fact, Popes (Saints) Paul VI, and John Paul II were both supporters of the apparitions! Funny how the Bishop forgot to mention that.) Furthermore, he quotes the wrong prior ruling meaning. IT WAS NEVER CONDEMNED BY ANY BISHOP, it was ruled Non-constat de supernaturalitate - It is not certain that the events are of supernatural origin.

Here is the portion from the letter BISHOP VILAPLANA LETTER July 8, 1965
Diocese of Santander (English Translation provided by EWTN)
    June 8th , 1993
    Santander,
Some people have been coming directly to the Diocese of Santander (Spain) asking about the "alleged apparitions" of Garabandal, and above all for the position of the hierarchy of the Church concerning these apparitions.
    I must communicate that:
    1. All the bishops of the diocese from 1961 through 1970 asserted that the supernatural character of the said apparitions, that took place around that time, could not be confirmed. [no constaba].* (that is not condemnation ! )

This reminds me of what Mary said in her 2nd message to us on June 18, 1965: “Many cardinals, many bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them.”

The previous Bishop Zamora was a noted believer in the apparitions, to the point he said two masses in Garabandal, and kissed the crucifix that Mary kissed at Garabandal, a sure sign of his support and belief.

So, the TRUTH of the matter is really that he was upset at the San Pablo Center of University Studies (CEU) to express his displeasure because they had not consulted him before hosting an event of devotees of the alleged apparitions. So in retailiation he issues this blatantly biased statement. The Bishop of Santander intervened in a conference on Garabandal being held in Madrid, that is outside of his jurisdiction ! If Cardinal Osoro of Madrid had no problem with this, then the Bishop should have kept quiet, its not his place to say anything, when his Superior didn't !
I have shown he is incorrect in his statement, and either lying or completely uninformed about the truth of Garabandal’s status. Either way, he will answer one day for misleading his flock, and disrespecting our Blessed Mother. Mary will prevail !

OCTOBER 22: FEAST DAY OF SAINT JOHN PAUL II
SAINT (Pope) John Paul II - on Garabandal

There is a book on Garabandal, written by Albrecht Weber in 1993, entitled Garabandal Der Zeigefmger Gottes (Garabandal: The Finger of God), of which a first edition copy was presented to Pope John Paul II. He later asked his secretary, Fr. (now Archbishop) Stanislaus Dziwisz, to write to the author after which the Holy Father adds in his own handwriting at the end a personal greeting and his signature.. In the subsequent printing (2000 ,2nd Edition) of the book, on page 19, a portion of the Pope's message is reprinted, as follows:"May God reward you for everything. Especially for the deep love with which you are making the events connected with Garabandal more widely known. May the Message of the Mother of God find an entrance into hearts before it is too late. As an expression of joy and gratitude, the Holy Father gives you his apostolic blessing."Weber writes, "From the attached greeting in the Pope's own handwriting, with his signature, it is clear how deep an interest he has in the events of Garabandal, and how anxious he is that they should be made known in a credible way."
During a special general audience with the Pope at the Vatican ... "special" because it was held on Saturday, rather than the usual Wednesday... Father Robert introduced Garabandal Visionary Mari-Loli and family to him. Father Robert who was holding 7 year old Maria Dolores, one of the three Lafleur children, said to the Pope: "Your Holiness, a special blessing for your littlest children who come on behalf of The Blessed Virgin from Garabandal." Our Holy Father exclaimed "Garabandal!" (picture below )

Please read the letter I found below. This is an honest man, (Cardinal Osoro ) seeking the TRUTH about Garabandal, not like the Bishop, who does nothing.
August 28, 2014 Archbishop Carlos Osoro Sierra
of Oviedo was promoted Archbishop of Madrid. In 2016 he was promoted to Cardinal !

Conchita received a letter, dated February12, 2007, from Archbishop Carlos Sierra of Oviedo, then the acting Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Santander, which read:

“I want you to know that I am open to receiving and considering all information about Garabandal, and would like to continue—as long as our Holy Father wishes me to serve as Apostolic Administrator—the work that my brothers at the Bishopric have already done in reference to this subject. What I have just done is authorize the priests to go to Garabandal and hold Holy Mass at the Parish, at any desired time, and to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to anyone that wishes to receive it. I am sure the next Bishop will promote further studies to examine in depth the Garabandal events and will send the findings to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome. I respect apparitions and have known of authentic conversions. How can we not always feel the need to open our heart to our Mother Mary to tell her that we need her protection, her help, her courage, her hope, her faith and her love when faced with these events! I encourage you to keep maintaining such devotion toward our Mother”.
-Carlos Osoro Sierra, Archbishop of Oviedo

Conchita on behavior during Holy Mass.
    Interview with Conchita , February 7, 1974

Question : In light of what our Lady said concerning the Blessed Sacrament ( less and less importance is being given to the Eucharist), can you tell us what is it that offends Our Lord most, in your opinion?

Conchita: “ Indifference. When we are in church we talk with one another and do not think who is in the tabernacle. If the Pope or the President were sitting in this room, would you waist time to talk to me or to someone else ? No, your attention would be on the great person present. In too many ways people forget that it is Jesus on the alter and in the tabernacle. We must believe in faith that it is He.
Besides daily Mass and Communion ,and the Rosary, we must go often to pay a visit to Our Lord in the churches, where He is alone."

In one of their videos that I watched recently I got the impression that the founder of the order, including the Servant of the Home priests, might have some mystical connection with Garabandal - more than just a believer.
But I can't remember which video it was in to check, and I got the impression that the details are not in the public domain.

I suddenly recalled this - during one of the apparitions, didn't Our Lady say something would happen just before the Warning/Miracle (I can't remember which) to make many doubt the authenticity of the apparitions/messages? I'm sorry I can't quite recall details but I'm pretty sure there was something like that.

On December 6, 1962, she (Conchita) had a 90 minute ecstasy around 5:30 in the afternoon after which, she provided two more pieces of information regarding the Miracle: 1) One day, a little before the Miracle, something will happen that will cause many people to stop believing in the apparitions of Garabandal. The doubts and desertions will not be due to an excessive delay of the Miracle. 2) On the day of the Miracle, the note that she signed in Santander (stating that the apparitions were not authentic) will disappear.

TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: OCTOBER 24, 1965:
LAST LOCUTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN OF MOUNT CARMEL TO MARI-LOLI

The final locution, and what a remarkable one, of the Blessed Virgin to Mari-Loli, then a boarder with Jacinta, at Borja, in the College of the Sisters of Charity of St. Ann where famous Madre Maria Naya herself had spent several years: "I had a locution from the Most Blessed Virgin. She told me that I would have much to suffer in this world, that I would be subjected to many trials, that this is what would make me suffer most." I asked Her to tell me if I was to become a sister. She did not answer me. She told me that She was very happy that I was here in the boarding school. I asked Her if She would come back to speak with me. She did not answer. I asked Her to give my father a proof of the apparitions so that he might believe. She told me that he would soon believe in them and that everyone would also believe. She told me that She was very happy with my sacrifices, but that I ought to be better and more mortified in everything each day, that, as I had done until now, I ought to recite the Rosary every day, a devotion most agreeable to Her, that She loves us all very much, that She wanted us to be very good so that we may soon be together with Her in the glory of Heaven." Mari-Loli Mazon

From 'Garabandal' Book, J.Serre, pages 199-200

    * NOTE : The Blessed Mother can not tell Loli she will see her a few days before the Miracle ( because Loli will have passed away already in 2009 )

Today in Garabandal history: October 25, 1966
Conchita remembers a conversation with Our Lady:

Conchita: " What should I do so as not to have empty hands? I examine myself and I see that I don't do bad; but . . ."
Mary: " It is not only not doing bad, but also practicing good".
Conchita: "That is just what the Virgin said to me!"

    ARE YOUR HANDS EMPTY ?
    The Last Apparition at Garabandal
November 13, 1965. The Virgin appeared with her Child to the teenager but it was to be for the last time at Garabandal.

Conchita said to the Virgin, "I am so happy when I see both of you. Why don't you take me now to heaven with you?" She replied, "Remember what I told you on your patronal feast day? " When you present yourself before God, your hands must be filled with good deeds done for your brothers and for His glory. At the present time, your hands are empty."

Mary said “ Conchita, I am not coming only for you but I am coming for all my children, with a desire to see them closer to our hearts”.

This day in Garabandal history: October 26,1966
Conchita describes how they were "called" by Mary, before she appeared.
(Conversation with Sister María Nieves García, from her Boarding School )

Q.” I heard” — said the Sister — “that the Virgin
called you prior to our falling into ecstasy. What
    were those calls?”
Conchita: "The first was a sudden feeling of mild joy. The
second was a stronger joy. The third made us go
    outside, overwhelmed with joy.
What it was like to live in those times when we
were seeing the Virgin so often! Although we had to
remain without sleeping, it didn't matter to us. We
    were so happy! "

The day after the second message was revealed. June 19, 1965

JUNE 19,1965 - The second message of the Blessed Mother (from the night before ) is translated into Spanish, French, Italian and English and read aloud by a priest Fr. Marcelino, on Conchita’s front doorstep.
In the middle of the video (sorry no audio ) you will see a young Joey Lomangino (in light grey sweater), and later on a man puts his arm around Conchita (who’s in red sweater) that is Jacques Serre, who I famously quote from his “Garabandal “ book.
