I think it is likely that this will increase pressure from the populations for a diplomatic solution or an end to European interference in the war; I ask if anyone here thinks that European leaders would want to take more advantage of the pontiff's diplomatic role this time around?

When the children were asked why the Virgin came at such late hours, they answered that the Virgin told them that it was at that time most of the sins of the world were committed and that they should do penance... I think your description is close, but with a big difference. I believe "the Pope" will be "successful" in brokering a false peace (see 1 Thessalonians 5:3). A "peace deal" will be made that will be perceived to "save Europe" and "save the world." But the result of "the peace deal" will be an apostasy from the truth. Read CCC 675 closely (especially read the footnoted verses and context): 675 Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. [573] The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth [574] will unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh. [575] 573 Cf. The Antichrist, according to St. John and CCC 675 is an apostatized Catholic who deceives the majority of Catholics by leading them into accepting changes to the unchangeable doctrines of the Catholic Church. Now, I ask you, what Catholic leader specifically can change "doctrine?" Can anyone but a Pope/Antipope propose to change the fundamental teachings of the Church? Even if an Ecumenical Council is involved, the "Pope" has a veto and must approve of any changes that an Ecumenical Council would propose. The Antichrist is not Putin or Biden or Obama or some Jew or Xi Jinping, etc. He will be a Catholic Antipope who persecutes the true Faithful because they refuse to go along with his changes to Catholic teaching.
Well, that is one analysis and speculation but this is a Garabandal thread. So in keeping with the Garabandal apparitions the attack led by Russia will be overwhelming. The Warning results, and the Great Miracle follows. I don't see how your scenario gels with the Garabandal apparitions. I personally think we will see the Warning, Miracle and the triumph of the Immaculate heart far before the definitive coming of the antichrist... Just my opinion.

The Warning and Miracle will help many see the truth and give them strength. It will give everyone the grace to convert before the Antichrist. According to Father Gobbi - Antichrist is alive today. What I loved about Father Gobbi is that he wasn’t afraid of this Antichrist. He didn’t find him important enough to worry about. Gobbi’s focus was Our Lady. So, there is tremendous hope for all of us. We will get through the darkness. It won’t be easy, but God will win.

Just to set the record straight about false Internet rumors. Conchita’s house was BOUGHT AND TURNED INTO A MUSEUM, NOT BY HER OR ANY FAMILY MEMBERS. Conchita's house was purchased privately and turned into a museum, after her Mother passed away in 1990, by a couple from Florida. (NOT BY ANY FAMILY MEMBER ). Wow. Learn something new everyday. On one of my three trips to Garabandal, my first visit in 1989, I met the Outlaws, Helen & Beville. I didn’t know they bought Conchitas House there. They were very nice people and had talked about then buying a house there. God Bless them and keeping Conchitas simple but important request about giving everyone a scapular who didn’t have one upon leaving the house. Thanks for sharing Glenn.
