Husband was Protestant “A very concerned woman requested the visionary to ask the Virgin if her husband believed in God. After the ecstasy she learned the answer. “In God he believes; in the Virgin, very little; but he will believe.” This became clear on learning—the visionary did not know—that the husband was a Protestant. – Fr. Ramon Andreu “She went in haste to the mountain”, Book 1, chapter 5, page 100
Stone already kissed by Mary Cases of hierognosis (secret and mysterious understanding to distinguish holy and sacred objects from other things) have been observed in connection with the stones kissed by the Virgin. For example, one day one of the children in ecstasy held up a little cup of stones to offer them up to be kissed by the Virgin. While raising one of them toward the Virgin, she was clearly heard to say, “What? What, it has already been kissed? Oh! It is Andre’s ” A little stone is an insignificant thing, worthless; but the same stone is converted into a precious treasure by being distinguished with the Virgin’s kiss. “She went in haste to the mountain” Book 1, chapter 4, page 77
Hi Glenn, I am wondering if you could confirm that Conchita stated the following about the Warning, "I who know what it is, am very much afraid of that day. The Virgin told us that the Warning and Miracle will be the last warnings or public manifestations that God will give us. This is why I believe that after them we will be near the end of time." In addition, did any of the Garabandal seers state that the Warning would announce the end of time (which is thought to be a new era of the Church, not the end of the world)? Maybe people are referring to Conchita's statement above, in this regard. I suppose that I am thinking about Pope Francis being the pope when the end of time begins and how the Warning (and the Miracle) would more than likely occur while he is pope. I believe this is your thought(s) also on this. Thank you for your help.
Well yes, but this sentence was contructed from several different questions and answers and someone "molded this into one" it did not appear originally this way in a February 1977 interview. It was later reprinted in the " Garabandal International Magazine " Oct.-Dec. 2004 Issue. Common sense tells us that the "Warning is not the end of time , because it is later followed by the Miracle, and quite possibly the "Chastisement" (or as some like to refer to it the "3 days of darkness) and even THAT is not the end of time (because life goes on after the "3 days". ( no sense of having a 3 day cleansing,if the world is ending, right ? ) Remember Cochita was quite clear when she said " the end of the times, not the end of time."
This timeline also aligns with church teachings on the ages of the church. There is believed to be 7 ages and we are in the 5th right now. What's interesting about the 5th is that it is a time of great lose of faith and massive decline in the beauty and holiness of the church (can you say decline in the beauty and reverence of the Mass the past 60 years!). The 6th would be best classified as the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the end of the world would come in the 7th generation. So the Warning, Miracle, Chastisement all could signify the passing from the 5th to the 6th age of the church. I also find it fascinating that as far as the astrological ages go for 2000+ years. The past age from Jesus birth to now was the astrological age of Pieces. This astrological age ended in 2021. We then started the age of Aquarius. The Warning starts with an astronomical phenomenon in the sky like two stars colliding. We have lots of interesting timelines and phenomenon coming together in this time we find ourselves in now.
JANUARY 12 - 20, 1966: CONCHITA'S FIRST TRIP TO ITALY: ROME, THE VATICAN (S.C.D. FAITH AND POPE PAUL VI) AND A MEETING WITH BLESSED PADRE PIO. On the order of Cardinal Alfredo Ottaviani, then Pro-Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, who had been informed about the Garabandal "events" by the father of the princess of Bourbon Parme as early as the summer of 1965, Conchita at last goes to Rome. On this trip with her there were Fr. Luna, Cecile of Bourbon Parme, Aniceta and Professor Medi (University of Rome), former ambassador of Spain to the Vatican. Cardinal Ottaviana listened to Conchita for more than two hours. Although we still have partial information about their conversation, we know, nonetheless, that Conchita told him the date of the Miracle as well as the nature of the very important Church event that will occur on the same day, while also answering 'presumed' difficulties reported to the Pro-Prefect . . . Several other important members of the Roman Curia also welcomed the visionary. She would later meet the Pope's confessor and told him also the date of the future "D" day. But, more important, Conchita was to be introduced to Paul VI, in a very private audience attended by only five persons, which took place providentially on . . . January 18th! Undoubtedly, on this very first day of the "Week of prayer for the Unity of all Christians," the visionary told the Holy Father what she knew about the future 'reunification of all Christian Churches,' about 'the Council, the last Popes,' etc . . . The Sovereign Pontiff will eventually bless the visionary twice in these terms: "Conchita, I bless you and with me the whole Church blesses you." Taking advantage of a wait of twenty-four hours before her rendezvous with Cardinal Ottaviani, Conchita and her fellow travelers went to San Giovanni Rotondo. There she met a "friend": Blessed Padre Pio! The latter, although not feeling well that day, came nonetheless against all expectations, to greet the visionary . . . as soon as he was told that "Conchita of San Sebastian de Garabandal is also here." The interview was warm, the famous Capuchin constantly blessing Conchita and assuring her of his prayers. As to her crucifix, kissed by the Blessed Virgin at Garabandal, Conchita presented it to Blessed Padre Pio during her visit, asking him to bless it. This he did, placing the small crucifix on one of his stigmata, in the palm of his left hand, then covering it with Conchita's hand . . . From the book 'Garabandal', by J. Serre, pages 204-205
Conchita’s Diary note to Jesus “I would like to visit you more. I want to be your little light that calls and lights up for you and grows brighter to give light to souls that want to come where you are. I also want to be the part within the door of the tabernacle so I can be more united with You. I want to be so much, but I am nothing, nothing, nothing. But since I am the daughter of Mary, the Mother of God, I am redeemed with the Blood of Christ Crucified, and because of that I am something.” From “Conchita’s Diary “ Chapter 14 (1963, age14 )
Astrology has been condemned by the Catholic Church since the beginning. From the Church Fathers to the present day. It is a very dangerous thing for your soul to follow astrology... Catechism of the Catholic Church: 2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to "unveil" the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.
I do not look to the stars to diminish God and set my life but what they reveal. That is grave sin and I guess the magi would have been grave sinners as well and also the many saints who were given celestial signs as well. There is a huge difference in looking at the stars to diminish God or looking at the stars for signs because God told us to. The difference is astronomy vs astrology. What I wrote is in no way astrology or looking to diminish God but is to look for what God has told us to look for. He will place signs in the heavens for us just like He revealed to the prophets then fulfilled the prophecy of placing signs in the heavens for the birth of His Son. Jesus himself told the disciples to look to the heavens for the sign of His return in Luke 21. Luke 21:25 “There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, Joel 2:30 “I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire and columns of smoke. Jerimiah 10:1 Thus says the Lord, “Do not learn the way of the nations, And do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens Although the nations are terrified by them; Acts 2:19 ‘And I will grant wonders in the sky above And signs on the earth below, Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. Mathew 24:30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. Mathew 2: "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." . . . And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
nsd, This is a good reminder. Ty Andy3, And this is a very good clarification. Ty In addition, the Vatican has it's own observatory since 1891.
One responsibility I treasure is that of closing my parish's 6 hours of Adoration with Benediction at 10pm on Thursdays. I arrive almost always by 9pm to spend an hour before the Lord. And the time goes by so quickly! To simply gaze upon the Lord- it's like radiation therapy. When I helped out at the House of Prayer Emmaus back in 1979, Father Jim Fallon used to expose the Blessed Sacrament right at the end of Holy Mass. He would explain it was the best of two worlds. First, there was Jesus present within our souls for about 15 minutes after reception of Holy Communion, and then there was Jesus radiating His love from the monstrance on the Altar at the same time! A Holy Double Whammy!
Astrology is not astronomy. That is why the Vatican has an Observatory. Looking to the stars to assign astrological ages (Pieces, Aquarius etc.) is astrology. So is looking to the "astrological age" to explain events.
Jacinta’s Vision of the Sacred Heart, Interview with Father Benac On December 23, 1978, Jacinta was interviewed by the Jesuit missionary Father Francisco Benac at his home in California. Here are some excerpts from this conversation: Father Benac: I have read some articles in which you report that you have seen the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Please tell me how it all happened. Jacinta: I remember that this happened on a day in which the four of us climbed a little higher above the zone of the "calleja", that is, above where the Angel had appeared to us for the first time. No one, a girl from our village, followed us on that day too. Suddenly, the other three fell into ecstasy and the Angel came. At that moment I was behind, and I saw them in ecstasy, and I said, "But I see nothing." Suddenly I saw the Sacred Heart of Jesus that impressed me greatly. He did not tell me, however, His gaze came to the deepest place in my heart. Father Benac: What impressed you most? Jacinta: His eyes, all his appearance, his eyes that arrived well inside my heart in an inexplicable way. Father Benac: What did you think at that moment? Jacinta: Oh, Father, this vision of the Heart of Jesus has been etched for ever, though I have never seen Him again. Whenever I remember His vision, I feel that infinite Love that came to my heart that day. Part of the group of pilgrims who went up to Garabandal. Being in Navarrete, place that has a beautiful Baroque Church, we asked Jacinta to describe to us the vision of the Sacred Heart. Jacinta, in the center of the picture, dressed in black, with her husband, Jeff, right in front of him. His daughter, Maria, is the third to count from the left. Father Benac: Do you still feel it? Jacinta: Oh yes! Whenever I see His image or speak of Him, as I do now, I feel Him within me in a way that I can not explain. Father Benac: When you have been and have passed through the time of doubt, have you also doubted this vision? Jacinta: No, Father. This vision always remained alive in my mind. It's something I've never doubted. Father Benac: Has this vision led you to love God more? Do you think He wanted something special from you? Jacinta: I can not answer that because He did not tell me. However I feel my heart much closer to Him from that moment on. Jacinta: I remember that this happened on a day in which the four of us climbed a little higher above the zone of the "calleja", that is, above where the Angel had appeared to us for the first time. JANUARY 13, 1963 Mari-Loli's last ecstasy (two months later she, as well as Conchita, will enter into the phase of her locutions). For some time already (Fall 1962), the visionary had known the very year of the future Warning, and also that "the Aviso will come less than a year before the great Miracle," furthermore that "both of these future great events might occur the very same year . . ." (Mari-Loli first public declarations, 1975). [From 'Garabandal' Book, J. Serre, page 162]
JANUARY 14, 1963 : CONCHITA LEARNS THE DATE OF THE “GREAT EVENTS OF “D” DAY. ( THE MIRACLE ) The Archangel St.Michael finally gave the exact date of the future “D” day to Conchita alone. “GARABANDAL” by J. Serre pg.163
I have a question. I read that Conchita was told Padre Pio would see the Miracle and so she was surprised to hear of his death in 1968. Of course she was told Padre Pio saw the Miracle before he died, which was a satisfactory answer to the dilemma. What I'm wondering is... Since Padre Pio was born in 1887, he would have been 134 years old today...and the Miracle still hasn't occurred. Why would Conchita have ever thought Padre Pio would see the Miracle while alive? She knows the date of the Miracle so she would have known Padre Pio couldn't still be alive to see it.
Could Conchita have known that he would be privileged to see it interiorly before his death as a grace from God? In a vision?
IF YOU HAD PERSONAL VISIONS OF THE BLESSED MOTHER FOR 4 YEARS, AND SEVERAL LOCUTIONS WITH JESUS, AND WITNESSED COUNTLESS MIRACULOUS EVENTS , WOULD YOU REALLY QUESTION ANYTHING THEY TOLD YOU ?
