Patriotism and extreme nationalism are not the same thing. Nowadays, love has been redefined to mean whatever makes us feel good in the moment. Triumphalism has replaced gratitude to God for success in struggle against a mortal enemy. Statues and shrines in honour of saints have been replaced by statues of military leaders and war memorials. War is seen as a good thing rather than man's failure to love others as he loves himself and politicians' failure to negotiate. Political leaders placing floral tributes on the tomb of the unknown soldier has replaced prayers for the souls of those killed in wars. How can people who don't understand the true meaning of love understand what it means to be patriotic?[/QUOTE]

True, it is always possible to take something good, like sex, or Patriotism and turn it into something bad.

  2. There is another Church on fire in France. The sphere on the Reon. Under control but so symbolic.
