There are surely many bishops and cardinals horrified by this. However, they are in a dilemma. The mainstream media have largely ignored the statement, for whatever reasons. Maybe most Catholics have not heard of this and never will. There may be some Churchmen who do not speak out in the conviction that to do so will only publicise the horror and spread the scandal. Perhaps this applies to other issues, also. I know my wife and family are wholly unaware of all this. I have made the judgement that in our house, it is better that they do not know of it. What they don't know won't hurt them. If most people, who don't get the details, carry on with their reasonably orthodox faith, blissfully deluded that Pope Francis is just a nice ordinary, relatively uncontroversial pope with a bit of an interest in the environment, maybe this is for the best. For all we know, this might be the reason for the deafening silence of so many. For those with wicked intentions, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
This is a good roadmap Garabandal. Very good. In effect the Church is being crucified right before our eyes. The Passion of the Church. We must stand at the foot of the Cross with Our Lady and plead for conversion and pray Father forgive them. I pray they do not know what they do.
Although I do feel that the papal posse were too kind about this topic that we are discussing on this thread, they hit some other really good points. I just re-watched the first segment of the video so that I could accurately describe some of what they said and since we were talking about having horrible popes in the past the first thing I will mention is that at @ the 32 minute mark they talk about Father Weinandy's recent article about the current synod. The papal posse remind us that Father Weinandy states that this will be the first time in the 2,000 history of the Church that we may witness an internal papal schism. This is basically our fear, that changes will be made to the Church that go against the 2,000 year old teachings of the Church and there will be very little resistance to them. Robert Royal also goes on to say that the one of the big differences that they are witnessing so far with this particular synod is that unlike with the 2014-15 synod on marriage & the family and the youth synod last year in which there were a lot of criticism from the participants, there is very little criticism of this synod from the participants. He states, "There have only been 3 participants, to date, who have expressed any doubts whatever about the idea of ordaining...married men". These three are Cardinal Sarah, Cardinal Ouelltte and Cardinal Turkson out of about 200 people. Imo this helps prove Father Weinandy's point above. Because Don in particular continues to question Pope Benedict and sometimes Saint Pope John Paul II (I noticed this has occurred at least 3 times recently on 3 different threads), I want to point out that at @ the 22 minute mark Father Gerald Murray states, "that there is an attempt to re-bring back to the public discussion an agenda (ordained woman priests) that was destroyed by the clear teaching of John Paul II and Benedict..." So, again I will restate what I recently stated on the Vatican Has Fallen thread and that is Pope Francis is an entirely different category from his 2 predecessors. We can agree to disagree Don, I am just stating my case which is in defense of these two very holy popes.
I have to agree! The fact that we still have access to the Tridentine Mass today is the proof. Thank God for that. That wasn’t an accident.
But, there is an 'on the other hand'. While it might be best for the invincibly ignorant to remain unaware of what's going on, the silence of so many risks emboldening the heretics in their aims to alter the praxis, and ultimately, the doctrines of the Church.

Poor Pope Saint John Paul. I suspect not his Parkinson's Disease was not simply a random event. He was very smart, very saintly and saw what was going down in the Church well, well advance. That is correct! Without the actions of PEB we would definitely not have the widespread access to the TLM, nor would we likely have the FSSP. My husband and I have a framed Nuptial Blessing from Pope Emeritus Benedict that one of my bridesmaids managed to get from Rome as our wedding gift. In the past few days, I’ve been looking at his picture in that frame and thanking Our Lord for him in many ways. Mostly, I’m beyond grateful to him for making the TLM more accessible... we switched to a FSSP parish two years ago and as the darkness gets darker, it’s the light that keeps us from totally losing it when we see pagan idol worship, and God knows what else before this sham of a synod is over, inside the Vatican walls.
It is my pretty much my situation as well. The majority of the family believe it's all good with Pope Francis. My husband is like a Vatican spokesman always rushing to his defense, it drives me mad, so I've ended all Francis related discussions. My 92 year old mother is the only one who shares my concerns, God bless her. It is very sad that we are stuck with a bad pope. I too, will respect the office, but I cannot in good judgement walk around with blinders on pretending that it's all sunshine and roses with Francis. It is therapeutic, as well as enlightening for me to share my opinions and concerns with the wonderful members of this forum. God bless you all.
Excellent advice. The timing of this was so deliberate and I think we are all being manipulated in a terrible way with a great distraction, terrible as it was and there will be no answers. All we can do is unite our suffering in this with our Blessed Mother at the foot of the cross and offer it up with the betrayal and suffering of Jesus on the cross, fast and pray. Lord have mercy on us. Off to pray my rosary.
I saw a picture of poor Cardinal Muller the other day in Rome during the synod. I found it very touching, he looked so very sad and careworn. We should pray much for loyal Cardinals, Bishops and priests (and there are many, many, many of them). It is, I think a hundred times worse for them than it is for us. Poor people. Praying for poor nuns too. I think Contemplative nuns saw this coming long before we ever did. Prayer opened their eyes quicker than anyone and deeper too. Poor women.. In a kind of way I think it is worse for them than anyone. Their Spouse, The Church in a way kicking them in the teeth. One thing I would like to add is: Be wary of falling into complacency or to a level of agreement "just because." Just because he is Pope Francis or because your spouse's / family's view differs from your own. I only say this as time and time again (and again!) I saw this in Protestantism. You're supposed to agree with the pastor (or the leadership) "just because." Etc. As there are always very high levels of drama, wrangling, emotionalism in Protestantism (all that compounded by zillions of denominations)...be wary. I've seen people "give up" or "cave" when they shouldn't have. Stick to your guns while also keeping these situations in prayer.
