I'm sorry Mr. Ruffini, but this is a bunch of horse hockey. You are simply saying in a more detailed way the same roundabout thing the Vatican said yesterday. These are Jesuit answers. Okay so the Pope didn't say those exact words...we already knew that. Scalfari summarizes his conversations. That is a bad idea for a newsman, but it is the way he conducts his interviews. So what did the Pope say that led Scalfari to claim he said Jesus was merely a man? Are we to believe the conversation went like this: Scalfari: So tell me your thoughts on the Divinity of Christ Pope: As all good Catholics I believe Christ is True God and True Man. Scalfari: So you deny the Divinity of Christ? Really? That's how the inteview went? Is Scalfari so out of touch with reality that he cannot hold a normal conversation without imagining things that aren't happeneing? If so he has no business being involved in media. The reason a personage grants interviews to a newsperson is because they want to get a message or point out to the public. So why would you grant 8 interviews to the same man who keeps not only bungling the message, but getting it so horrendously wrong that he portrays you as a duplicitious liar and heretic? Again and again...
Desert Star (and anyone else thinking of this) please don't boycott Mass. That is a mortal sin. We are obliged to go. Christ wants you at Mass. You would only be hurting yourself. Find a good Latin Mass if you are able. The priests there usually do not participate in any of the errors coming from Rome.
I think I understand now the Scripture about the restrainer being lifted. Second Thessalonians 2:6-7 reads, "And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way." The restrainer was/ is the Papacy and the Catholic Church. This removal makes way for the Reign of the AntiChrist. When Ireland was under the Penal Laws and Mass and the Catholic Church was illegal on pain of death folks used the rosary to get by. It worked very well for several centuries of persecution. I think we now have two Churches. The False Church centred in Rome and the One True Church, the Faithful which will more and more go underground Back to the Catacombs. This is prefigured in The Apocalypse where the woman with child fled into hiding from the Dragon. I suspect that this will become more and more apparent as time goes on. Their next step is to remove the mass. Events will move very swiftly now. What extraordinary times we live in!!
I hope my answer didn't come across as harsh. I didn't mean it that way. I know you are new to the faith and we are so glad to have you here The Mass is the highest form of prayer we have. If anything we need to attend extra Masses
With your words, I bring what Pope Benedict (Cardinal Ratzinger) spoke to in 1969 about a "small church" coming....well it is developing as we speak. In 2009, Ignatius Press released Father Ratzinger’s speech “What Will the Church Look Like in 2000” in full, in a book titled Faith and the Future along with a collection of his other teachings from the time. The transcription the 1969 radio broadcast in full is below: In 2009, Ignatius Press released Father Ratzinger’s speech “What Will the Church Look Like in 2000” in full, in a book titled Faith and the Future along with a collection of his other teachings from the time. The transcription the 1969 radio broadcast in full is below: “The future of the Church can and will issue from those whose roots are deep and who live from the pure fullness of their faith. It will not issue from those who accommodate themselves merely to the passing moment or from those who merely criticize others and assume that they themselves are infallible measuring rods; nor will it issue from those who take the easier road, who sidestep the passion of faith, declaring false and obsolete, tyrannous and legalistic, all that makes demands upon men, that hurts them and compels them to sacrifice themselves. To put this more positively: The future of the Church, once again as always, will be reshaped by saints, by men, that is, whose minds probe deeper than the slogans of the day, who see more than others see, because their lives embrace a wider reality. Unselfishness, which makes men free, is attained only through the patience of small daily acts of self-denial. By this daily passion, which alone reveals to a man in how many ways he is enslaved by his own ego, by this daily passion and by it alone, a man’s eyes are slowly opened. He sees only to the extent that he has lived and suffered. If today we are scarcely able any longer to become aware of God, that is because we find it so easy to evade ourselves, to flee from the depths of our being by means of the narcotic of some pleasure or other. Thus our own interior depths remain closed to us. If it is true that a man can see only with his heart, then how blind we are! How does all this affect the problem we are examining? It means that the big talk of those who prophesy a Church without God and without faith is all empty chatter. We have no need of a Church that celebrates the cult of action in political prayers. It is utterly superfluous. Therefore, it will destroy itself. What will remain is the Church of Jesus Christ, the Church that believes in the God who has become man and promises us life beyond death. The kind of priest who is no more than a social worker can be replaced by the psychotherapist and other specialists; but the priest who is no specialist, who does not stand on the [sidelines], watching the game, giving official advice, but in the name of God places himself at the disposal of man, who is beside them in their sorrows, in their joys, in their hope and in their fear, such a priest will certainly be needed in the future. Let us go a step farther. From the crisis of today the Church of tomorrow will emerge — a Church that has lost much. She will become small and will have to start afresh more or less from the beginning. She will no longer be able to inhabit many of the edifices she built in prosperity. As the number of her adherents diminishes, so it will lose many of her social privileges. In contrast to an earlier age, it will be seen much more as a voluntary society, entered only by free decision. As a small society, it will make much bigger demands on the initiative of her individual members. Undoubtedly it will discover new forms of ministry and will ordain to the priesthood approved Christians who pursue some profession. In many smaller congregations or in self-contained social groups, pastoral care will normally be provided in this fashion. Along-side this, the full-time ministry of the priesthood will be indispensable as formerly. But in all of the changes at which one might guess, the Church will find her essence afresh and with full conviction in that which was always at her center: faith in the triune God, in Jesus Christ, the Son of God made man, in the presence of the Spirit until the end of the world. In faith and prayer she will again recognize the sacraments as the worship of God and not as a subject for liturgical scholarship. The Church will be a more spiritual Church, not presuming upon a political mandate, flirting as little with the Left as with the Right. It will be hard going for the Church, for the process of crystallization and clarification will cost her much valuable energy. It will make her poor and cause her to become the Church of the meek. The process will be all the more arduous, for sectarian narrow-mindedness as well as pompous self-will will have to be shed. One may predict that all of this will take time. The process will be long and wearisome as was the road from the false progressivism on the eve of the French Revolution — when a bishop might be thought smart if he made fun of dogmas and even insinuated that the existence of God was by no means certain — to the renewal of the nineteenth century. But when the trial of this sifting is past, a great power will flow from a more spiritualized and simplified Church. Men in a totally planned world will find themselves unspeakably lonely. If they have completely lost sight of God, they will feel the whole horror of their poverty. Then they will discover the little flock of believers as something wholly new. They will discover it as a hope that is meant for them, an answer for which they have always been searching in secret. And so it seems certain to me that the Church is facing very hard times. The real crisis has scarcely begun. We will have to count on terrific upheavals. But I am equally certain about what will remain at the end: not the Church of the political cult, which is dead already, but the Church of faith. It may well no longer be the dominant social power to the extent that she was until recently; but it will enjoy a fresh blossoming and be seen as man’s home, where he will find life and hope beyond death.”
Yes, the saints alwsy got sent off to clean the toilets and answer the doors while the bad boys got driven about in Chaffuered Limousins; nothings changed. I can see now that the Third Secret of Fatima referred to the Apostasy in the Vatican and the wider Church. No wonder they buried it; not a good advertisement for themselves.
Yes, Holy outrage. I worked a long shift and only now trying to absorb all these posts. As I cry and ask "How long oh Lord..." prayers tonight for all here and for our small remnant Holy Catholic church. But most of all that Pope Francis gets a wake up call from our Lord soon.
This topic was discussed on the World Over tonight with Raymond Arroyo, Father Gerald Murray and Robert Royal. I think that they ended up placing most of the blame on Scalfari because they don't believe that Pope Francis said this. Although, they also said the same that many have said here and that is why would the pope continue to have interviews with him when he has "misquoted" him so many times. Robert Royal went so far as to compare the name Scalfari to a similar word in Italian which means wiley and cunning. [I had to correct the spelling of wiley, sorry about that Dr. S. ] Ah, here it is "Published on Oct 10, 2019 THE PAPAL POSSE...FR. GERALD MURRAY, canon lawyer and priest of the Archdiocese of New York and ROBERT ROYAL, editor-in-chief of TheCatholicThing join us from Rome to discuss the Amazon Synod that began this week, the upcoming Canonization of Blessed Cardinal John Henry Newman, and much more. SHARON ROBINSON, daughter of Major League Baseball great and civil rights activist Jackie Robinson, talks about growing up with her famous father at the dawn of the civil rights movement and her new book, Child of the Dream: A Memoir of 1963."
Helps the narrative and the liberal Marxist agenda. I think the Pope knows exactly what he is doing. Causing doubt of Catholic Church and pushing his globalistic views. That release was all planned.
I have decided to change track. Since the Pope will not respond to the serious accusations placed against him I will continue to pray for him -- I will now pray for his conversion that he might be given the grace of supernatural faith. I pray that God, our Holy Mother and all the angels and saints intercede on his behalf. I cannot change the fact that he is Pope. Not one bishop or cardinal has spoken of the Scalfari scandal and the divintiy of Christ heresy. They ignore/sweep under the carpet. The Vatican is shrouded in a fog of diabolical disorientation. I will respect the office of the Papacy and pray for his conversion. I have suffered tremendous spiritual angst for the last few days somewhat like a bereavement but this must be - the church is going through it's greatest crisis - I offer my little sufferings for the salvation of souls.
If the Good God permits this trial, it must be the case that the patient sufferings of His Little Flock pleases Him more than the errors of those in Rome displease Him. Let us say, Fiat Voluntas Tua, Thy Will be done, as Our Lord taught us, and bear this Cross and offer it up for as long as it pleases God that we should. Victory will come in the end. Remember, as Sr. Lucia said, “The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families… that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary.” From: https://aleteia.org/2017/02/16/7-powerful-quotes-from-fatima-visionary-sister-lucia/ And St. Leonard said about Holy Mass: "Take my advice, and in every Mass ask God to make you a great saint. Does this seem too much? It is not too much. Is it not our good Master who proclaims in the Gospel that, for a cup of cold water given out of love of him, he will, in return, give paradise? How, then, while offering to God the blood of his most blessed Son, should he not give you a hundred heavens, were there so many?" https://www.hprweb.com/2014/07/the-glory-of-the-mass/ The Holy Mass and the Holy Rosary are our two great weapons in the fight. Let us take St. Leonard's advice and ask God to make both us and the Pope great saints.
They are very kind and charitable, but very, very innocent. I hope to God they are right. But for myself I think Scalfari was teeling the truth. Not all the turth but enough. Himself and Pope Francis are in cahoots. That tells us all we need to know.
Id you know reports from all over the world, especially from Exorcists show that Satanists request two things in their Rituals/Sacrifices; it is a Universal Formulae, 'The downfall of Catholic Priest and the overthrow of the Catholic Church' I think this plays into a lot of what is happening at the moment. If the Church had taken a much, much stronger line against abortion I thinkit would have potected us from a lot of this. Also of course the prayer to St Michael the Arcangel should never have been done away with. Never, never, nev er.
I just heard the other day that Pope St. John Paul II tried to reinstitute this prayer at the end of Mass, but he was foiled.
