I've been wanting to see Fr. McAlear for awhile. Looking at his schedule today I noticed that he's in Ireland from March 28-April 3. He has a healing ministry. See him if you can! I hear he's awesome. http://www.frmac.org/schedule.html
So I went along to Fr McAlear in Ennis Cathedral last night. There was 1500/1600 people in attendance as confirmed by the Parish Priest who knew the capacity of the Cathedral. There was young & old, families & groups of young people on their own (and a few screaming babies lol). His homely concentrated on how the LORD came to forgive sin & how we should realize that more rather than walk around feeling guilty all of the time. He alluded to the fact that nobody does guilt better than the Irish lol. The 1st reading was from Daniel 13 & the Gospel, he read John 8. Both readings concentrated on the subject of sin. Daniel 13 message was that God dealt with sin with justice as was the norm in the Old Testament, while Jesus forgives sin in John 8 from the New Testament. After the mass, he lay hands & anointed the congregation with oil. He mentioned that not all were going to be healed in the conventional sense but he can guarantee we'll all get a blessing. That part of the ceremony started at 8.30pm, I got anointed at 10pm such was the crowd. I left at this but I can guess that it would have went on 'till midnight. Fr McAlear had to be aided as his walk was poorly. Overall, a very extraordinary experience for me.
Thanks! I just read the word "schedule" and moved on. Sort of like in the movie "Up" when a certain creature is named.......that's me.
