View attachment 1040 The Fourth Glorious Mystery - Mary's Assumption into Heaven – While Holy Church Tradition teaches, and the Liturgy confirms, that Mary was assumed (body and soul) into Heaven at the end of her earthly life, there is no narrative of this event in Scipture. An appropriate scripture passage for this mystery is within Mary's 'Magnificat', from the gospel according to Luke, chapter 1, verses 46-49.

And Mary said: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior. For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name..."

Almighty and eternal God, who hast taken up into the glory of Heaven, with body and soul, the immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of thy son: grant us, we pray, that we may always strive after heavenly things and thus merit to share in her glory. Amen.

"The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up body and soul into the glory of Heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Son's Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of His body". (Article 974 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church).

While meditating on the mystery of the Assumption, pray also for the release of its fruit, eternal happiness.

The Fifth Glorious Mystery - Mary's Coronation – While Holy Church Tradition teaches, and the Liturgy confirms, that Our Lord crowned Mary Queen of Heaven and of earth, there is no narrative of this event in Scipture. An appropriate scripture passage for this mystery is from the book of Revelation, chapter 12, verse 1.

A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars".

"Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death". (Article 966 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church).

While meditating on the mystery of the Coronation, pray also for the release of its fruit, devotion to Mary.

    From Mother Angelica's meditations

Dear Mother, the Justice of God was not satisfied with reuniting your body and soul so you would be able to imitate Jesus in the Kingdom. Your Divine Son, King and Lord, deigned to crown you, as Queen of Heaven and Earth.
On earth you were the unknown and unheralded Mother of Jesus. Your humility astonished the Angels and confused the proud demons. It is truly just that now your greatness be manifested to all God's children.
Your one desire is to lead us to Jesus, and your one prayer is for our salvation. I am grateful for your care and sorry for my negligence.
Your Coronation gives me assurance that one day I too shall be crowned with glory. God will wipe away every tear from my eyes and bestow upon me the light of glory.
Your heart was pierced with Seven Sorrows during your earthly pilgrimage. Now—twelve stars circle your head and the moon is under your feet (Rev. 12:1). Obtain for me, dear Mother, the grace I need to one day enter His Kingdom and be crowned with the crown of holiness.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
    Amen.
