Last week my daughter's teacher, Miss C, had a massive stroke (some are saying it was a heart attack--I'm not sure) as class was about to begin. She never regained consciousness and died on Saturday. She wasn't Catholic, but she was a wonderful Christian lady, cancer survivor and a fun-loving teacher, the kind who really seemed to enjoy her students. Miss C had never married and was only 55 years old. Pray for her, and if you don't mind, pray her dog (photo taken last year) finds a good forever home.
I'll pray for her at mass this morning Deanna..but as for the dog I suspect by its looks a good home is a certainty.
I will pray for her, and for happiness to her dog too, whom I am sure she loved very much. What a cutie.
Miss C's funeral service was held in the catholic church across the street from the school where she taught for many many years. There wasn't a Mass, of course, and the pastor from her own church presided with our priest offering assistance. Her friends and family said a few words as well. My daughter and the entire 3rd grade (except those students who opted out) attended, plus many former students in the upper grades. Even though most Protestants reject the doctrine of purgatory, this is a very catholic town and I'm sure lots of prayers are going up for the repose of her soul. Rest in peace, Miss C. I've learned her dog is being adopted by friends in a different state. I don't know anything about these people, but considering they're going to so much trouble to get him, I'm thinking that's a good sign that they really really want him and will treat him well. Thank you all for your prayers.
