Praying, Miker Don’t give up But don’t lose your footing God can move that mountain Praying for a breakthrough
Offering up prayer to Our Lady, Cause of our Joy, this morning and morning Mass. Is there anything sadder than loosing Joy? Of life becoming Black and White, drained of all colour and music? https://www.amazon.com/Cause-Our-Joy-Walking-Lady/dp/1621641732
Hi all - I’d appreciate your prayers for my daughter -she is suffering a depression as a result of mental and verbal abuse from her husband. She had two young children and her third is due in March. My wife and I were hoping this wonderful event of a new life might help but he is back to his ways. I know there are always 2 sides to a story but I do believe our daughter has tried . She suffers silently through this marriage. I vacillate between anger at him and prayers for his conversion. But today had been hard…. I see the weariness on my daughters face/ no joy. It causes the anger to well up inside me. She needs prayer to somehow work through. To know God is with her. And needs to know God loves him. Your prayers that this mess be resolved as God wants it. I’m drained by this tbh. I feel spiritually tired- like giving up. Pray I don’t.
My heart breaks for your daughter, she is carrying a heavy cross. As a parent it is terribly painful to watch your child suffer like this. Praying to St. Rita for your daughter and her family.
Praying, Miker. May I recommend that you pray the Fr Dolindo Surrender Prayer? Maybe your daughter could pray it as well. I say it almost daily now. Very efficacious. I will pray for a breakthrough. God bless you. Please don’t give up. The only person we can change is ourselves. But God can work miracles. The depression comes from so much unrelenting hurt, but Jesus has overcome the world.
thank you HH… I will start it tonight. I think there is a video as I’d like to listen to the words tonight. And will recommend to my daughter. Peace.
Praying now and offering up Mass this morning. A huge Cross. Some people seem to be like Fridges and suck all the joy and warmth out of life. Others come as ovens bring warmth and comfort. But ovens or fridges when we return love for hate it at least changes ourselves. Praying anyway I had a couple of neighbours a few of years ago who really, really put me through the Mill. I prayed and prayed for them both. I complained to the Lord that I was praying for them both so much that they maybe the best prayed for people on the Planet and asked the Good Lord if they really deserved it. It was only when they moved on I realised what a pain they had both been. But such a joy to see them leave. They made a point of both giving me the finger as they drove away. I suppose loving and forgiving people is not just about feelings but often about not having good feelings but praying for folks anyway. That couple also taught me that I could be mean and spiteful myself on occasions which was a very helpful lesson.
The truth that has helped me tremendously is the knowing I needn't "feel" warm toward people who are difficult or unkind. I only need to set my will toward forgiveness in Jesus's Name because He has forgiven me. And I must pray for their happiness in this world and the next. (Fr Ripperger)
I know this feeling well, Miker. I've come to this point many times. Try to picture yourself in Jesus arms... and rest there. It might be the last thing you want to do but just try to rest. Like the others here, I will seek help for you. Spring can come even in the most bitter of winters.
Prayers for all your intentions. It sounds so difficult. I’ll be praying for your daughter to receive the strength to deal with this.
