Hoping to do it. Confession first if possible. I used to think it was challenging to do this in the old pre-virus days. I had NO idea.
Our SSPX priest announced last Sunday that we will be having Mass for first Saturday. What a joy and delight, this hasn't happened before and hopefully will become permanent. Such a bountiful blessing, the holy sacrifice of the Mass two days in a row. Praise be to God almighty
What do you mean by this? Sorry I haven't read many posts lately, but is Mass not available every day for you? +
My parish will be having 40Hours Devotion all this weekend in Reparation to Our Lord’s Most Sacred Heart while also honoring Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart all Saturday! If anyone has specific intentions, list them below. I will check each day here. They will be offered up to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament exposed continually the entire weekend.~AN
Alas no. Due to limited number of priests we only have Mass on a Sunday. For daily Mass I would have to make a 150 miles round trip with a break of dawn start and my health would not alow it, much as I'd love to be able
I will! And everyone else who posts request, if I “Like” your post, you are on the list! It’s crazy in my home but all in a good way— Helping my daughter, son-in-law and three young grandchildren and their move.
I'm sorry to hear this Here, the SSPX has been offering daily public Mass since, I think, mid-June, when the Singapore government allowed 5 people gatherings at first, then SSPX gradually increased the numbers according to government announcements. So, I have been really blessed to be able to assist at Mass daily for several months now (after the initial Covid19 measures). Deo gratias! All on MOG forum are in my daily prayers at Mass. +
Today was going to be my 5th consecutive Saturday but I'm sick today. Wasn't there something about the devotion still being valid if confession and Eucharist being within 8 days of the Saturday?
This is taken from devotiontoourlady.com: Our Lord told Lucia in 1930, “This Communion will be accepted on the following Sunday for just reasons, if my priests allow it so.” So if work or school, sickness, or another just reason prevents the Communion on a First Saturday, with this permission it may be received the following Sunday. If Communion is transferred, any or all of the other acts of the devotion may also be performed on Sunday if the person so desires. So you're ok Here's a link: http://devotiontoourlady.com/first-saturday-devotions.html
First Friday for October 2020 was the best I could ever have dreamed of. I attended Holy Mass offered by the FSSP fathers. After Holy Mass the Priest led us in the litany for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and followed with a special prayer to make reparation for the sacrilege committed when holy images, sacramentals or places are desecrated. I had found the Golden Arrow prayer and devotion to the Holy Face allowed some form of reparation; but it was powerful to hear the Priest lead us in a prayer of reparation. That was the first time I had ever joined in such a moving moment. Thank You Jesus for leading me to the FSSP. The First Saturday in October 2020, I had to get in half an hour before 8 am Holy Mass to say a Rosary. Then after Holy Mass, because there is no Eucharistic Adoration, I joined the Pro Life group at the local abortion centre to say the Rosary. I am hoping Blessed Mother will accept my compromise, because there does not seem to be a Holy Hour at the FSSP parish just now, and joining the group for public Holy Rosary is the best I can do. Just for your information. Being elderly and not in the best of health. I joined the Rosary for First Saturday in September. We stand for a couple of decades of Rosary outside the clinic, and then walk around the bloc, so as not to attract trouble. September was my first adventure, and it nearly killed me, so this time I brought a walking aid because I thought I was going to collapse on the September walk. I think the walking aid will be my buddy for the next one.
