You've made plausible points, PNF, but given Pope Francis' precarious health, I don't believe he'll be able to accomplish all that is necessary to fulfill the prophecies related to the AntiChrist.
The Bible itself implies that the Antichrist will fake his death (Apocalypse 13:3): 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were [Latin= quasi = seemingly] slain to death: and his death's wound was healed. And all the earth was in admiration after the beast. Note that I don't claim to understand how this "death" will happen precisely or even if it will be a physical death. But one could imagine that an old man might be seen in "precarious health" and even be reported as having died (in surgery, for example). But, miraculously, he comes back to life with more vigor and apparent health than before. What if the "precarious health" thing is all an act, a setup for his coming "resurrection?" The thing to understand is that there is a massive deception involved in the events surrounding the Antichrist. And he will be able to "deceive even the elect." So what appears to be obvious to everyone may be part of that deception. Anyway, whatever is going to happen should happen very soon, IMO. This is because I interpret King Sedecias as a figure of the Antichrist, and because I think Bergoglio is the Antichrist, this year should be very important. This is the Eleventh Year of Bergoglio's false pontificate. As Jeremiah 52 explains, it was in King Sedecias's Eleventh Year that his reign was interrupted... 5 And the city was besieged until the eleventh year of king Sedecias. 6 And in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, a famine overpowered the city: and there was no food for the people of the land. 7 And the city was broken up, and the men of war fled, and went out of the city in the night by the way of the gate that is between the two walls, and leadeth to the king's garden, (the Chaldeans besieging the city round about,) and they went by the way that leadeth to the wilderness. 8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king: and they overtook Sedecias in the desert which is near Jericho: and all his companions were scattered from him 9 And when they had taken the king, they carried him to the king of Babylon to Reblatha, which is in the land of Emath: and he gave judgment upon him. 10 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Sedecias before his eyes: and he slew all the princes of Juda in Reblatha. 11 And he put out the eyes of Sedecias, and bound him with fetters, and the king of Babylon brought him into Babylon, and he put him in prison till the day of his death. 12 And in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, the same is the nineteenth year of Nabuchodonosor, king of Babylon, came Nabuzardan the general of the army, who stood before the king of Babylon in Jerusalem. 13 And he burnt the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great house he burnt with fire. What that historical description (interpreted as a figure) might mean for us, I don't know, but I think something big will happen to Bergoglio specifically in the next few months.
Pope francis is not the antichrist. In all the tradition of the church, it was never taught that a pope would be the antichrist.
You are correct about one thing. A canonically-elected Pope (aka a true Pope) can never be the Antichrist. That is why the Church never taught that. But when "a man not canonically-elected is raised to the Pontificate" (as prophesied by St. Francis of Assisi), then that man CAN BE the Antichrist. Bergoglio was not canonically-elected because the 2013 Conclave occurred before the death of Pope Benedict XVI. The canonically-established law governing papal elections, Universi Dominici Gregis, requires that the previous Pope be dead and his funeral mass finished BEFORE any new papal election can take place. Therefore, Bergoglio was not canonically-elected and is not a true Pope. He is a usurper and an Antipope and the Antichrist.
Kind of a dangerous position to take considering not even the best cardinals like Burke, Schneider agree with that. I'd be careful.
Not dangerous at all. What I have said is the truth. It is based in the objective meaning of the words of the law currently in force. Anyone can check it themselves. The people who need to be "careful" are those who do not investigate and care enough to stand up for the truth. Here is what Jesus said will happen to those who follow the truth (John 8): 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews, who believed him: If you continue in my word, you shall be my disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. And here is the warning from St. Paul for those who refuse to follow the truth (2 Thessalonians 2): 3 Let no man deceive you by any means, for unless there come a revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, 4 Who opposeth, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God. 5 Remember you not, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now you know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity already worketh; only that he who now holdeth, do hold, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then that wicked one shall be revealed whom the Lord Jesus shall kill with the spirit of his mouth; and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming, him, 9 Whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders, 10 And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying: 11 That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity. In other words, God will punish those who ignore or reject the truth about the Antichrist who sits "in the temple of God." He will cause a darkening of their minds, such that they will not be able to tell truth from lie. The ability to discern who "the man of sin," the Antichrist is directly connected with this indifference to the truth.
Ya, I'll stick with the faithful cardinals and bishops and the sacraments of the church. Then there's nothing to worry about. I'm not going solo in my discernment. Thats what Luther did.
Look, I'm not trying to force you to do anything. But it is dishonest to claim that my position is similar to that of Luther. Rather, my position is similar to that of St. Athanasius. He went against lots of bishops who (mistakenly) considered themselves faithful Catholics. Was he a proto-Lutheran in your opinion? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athanasius_of_Alexandria
You're presuming that your position is right and all the good bishops and cardinals are wrong. Hey if ur right, hat tip...but I'm not taking that kind of risk with my soul... When the true antichrist is revealed if that's even in our lifetime, I will know....the good and faithful bishops will know.
Padre Pio said TV was of the devil and I believe one of the saints over 100 or 200 years ago warned of "a little black box in every home"
Mother Seton? I'm not sure of the validity of this prophecy though The story that accompanies this prophecy states that Elizabeth Ann was given a vision sometime in the early 1800's which she did not quite understand at the time: "Every American would have a black box in their home through which the devil would enter.” Unveiling the Apocalypse: The Prophecy of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
I remember growing up on a street named Primrose Ave. in Syracuse, NY. Yong families, with pleasant summer evenings spent with folks on their front porches interacting with one another in the second half of the 1950s. Then came the little black box which captivated us and gradually lured us inside. Little did we know. Now we carry the little black box wherever we go and spend more time on our phones than in one another's presence. One can argue we get to spend time with loved ones who are far away. That is true, but the ability to hug, to touch, to interact over a glass of beer or a family dinner: so much is lost and we're more fragmented than ever. The treasure of hugging, of drying a loved ones tears, of climbing a hill together and gazing at the beauty of constellations is lost. When the towers go down, we will be fragmented and alone. May we learn to be hermits before that day happens. Build connections with your neighbors.

"At this point it is appropriate to ask ourselves: what will this return consist of? How many elements will it have? There are so many – all of them most wonderful. I want to speak to you about these elements. First of all, when Christ returns it will be a glorious manifestation of his Being ; therefore, let us all discard certain childish interpretations of some exalted visionaries – and by the way, the fact that some priests may get caught up in this is a real pity – who say: “Yes, it is Jesus who returns in glory – he has appeared there; he is living in such and such a person…!” Ridiculous! If He is returning in glory – He has already come in his physical nature – it is a glorious manifestation of Christ. Brothers, let us try to understand: what does ‘return’ mean? Christ is in heaven; He is returning because, in his human nature, He has already come. He is returning in a relative sense, since, with his divinity, Jesus is already present in the Eucharist. He is returning insofar as He will manifest Himself to this world in a glorious way and will bring his Kingdom to this world. Therefore, his Coming will coincide with the union of several elements:" Do not the two natures of Christ (human and divine) constitute an inseparable unity that will exist for all eternity, even when he returns in the clouds, in a glorious resurrected body, in the skies of Jerusalem?
