What a timely thread for me to find today because I was just thinking of getting a second tattoo of my favorite bible verse in Latin. "My God be merciful to me a sinner". Before I was back to the faith, I got a tattoo of my daughter on my shoulder so no matter what I could always have her face to look at. She passed away at 17 months and I never wanted to forget her sweet little face even if the world had horrible disasters and all technology and photos were lost, she would always be with me and I could always see her. I definitely do not regret that decision years ago because my heart was in the right place but wondering if I need to get it blessed now.

I would restrain any comments to your sister whilst she is pregnant. Now if she getting another tat I would advise her 'not now, it might be harmful'. At a later time share the bible admonition with her. It's not good to stress a pregnant mother. My daughter is pregnant and she is the only one in our family to get the jab. I never share any negative data with her as it is not helpful to her at this time.
    That's my two cents!

Yeah, I never said anything to her. She had her baby 5 months ago. :)

As far as when to tell her...Idk. She never tells me when she's about to get a new tattoo. She just shows me eventually, after it's been done.

Indeed. The Pentagram is 'a sign of belonging'. As is the Swastika...and the Hammer and Sickle. Eritreans and other Copts might have been deploying tattoos of the Cross, a very brave witness in a Muslim-dominated culture, in truth 'a sign of not belonging', but how many (genuine) Cross tattoos do we see nowadays?

That poor little altar boy, practically assaulted by this pope. How absolutely mortifying it must have been for him.

Here in my area, women are getting eyebrows and eyeliner permanently tattooed on their faces. UGH.

    Thanks for posting, Blizzard.

Very scary. Lots and lots of younger people have tattoos. Horrible for them. What tentacles evil has spread everywhere.

Sadly the majority of young Catholics have no idea what they are signing up for with when they are tattooed. This goes for adults too, I know of several who have gotten tattoos later in life. I wish more priests would be willing to educate their parishioners, but I suppose no one would listen anyway. I got an eyeroll when I discussed this video with family members. Back in the day the only people you would see with tattoos were guys who were a bit "rough around the edges". It didn't take long before tattoos were trending for all walks of society. :( This made me think of Catholic actor, Mark Wahlburg, who realized he'd made a terrible mistake getting tattoos in his younger days. He wanted to be a good example for his children so he had them removed. He said the laser procedure he underwent was extremely painful.

Yes. I have heard it is extremely painful. Guys in the military used to get a tattoo or of course bikers--definitly rough around the edges (not you Brian!!! I am talking biker gangs)
Tatoos suddenly "exploded" along with piercings. Nothing at all seen in normal society but then.....everyone was doing it. Sometimes I feel these last decades have been evils " fullness of time". It certainly seems that way as lewdness and violence increase and children are trafficked and families fall apart and babies are murdered in the millions. That 90 year old Norwegian woman who was given a vision by God way back (maybe before WWII) saw a black box in every home that brought great evil. :(

This made me wonder if St. Peter's Basilica needs to go through this exorcism ritual after the infamous Pachamama cult on October 6, 2019.
