Just wanted you to know I'm doing OK. It so happens that the vitreous membrane in my very near-sighted left eye is pulling away from the retina. This is normal for aging folk like me, especially those of us with very nearsightedness. Unfortunately it's attached to an area which includes a blood vessel that is susceptible to rupturing. Since my retina has not torn or become detached in the process, the doctors are reluctant to go in and do remedial laser surgery. They said they will change their minds if the hemorrhaging continues. Imagine surgeons that are reluctant to operate! So I'm left with a "cloudy" annoyance, but if no damage is done to the retina, it is not serious, only inconvenient.

So my blurry vision affords me a good old opportunity to "offer it up!" My Mom would be proud of me!

At least I'm reminded of:

Take this, all of you, and drink from it; this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.

It's sort of good news that they didn't need to operate, but bad that you still have the blurriness. What's that old saying? Can't win for losing. Or something like that.
