Regardless, whether or not a coming earthquake is why the witnesses there saw the sun wobble and change position in the sky—a possible harbinger of the earth shaking and tilting during a massive earthquake—we can only speculate. FYI, you can see for yourself the global satellite temperature record every month without the need of the media or "climate experts" - they are published by UAH and RSS since 1979, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite_temperature_measurements) . These are the most accurate global temperature datasets to date. If you look at global satellite records there has been some warming, but not much, just 0.15 C on average per decade. And since 1998 the trend seems flat and considerably cooling in the last two years or so. Jarg, Thank you for posting all of this information. I have to admit that I find this topic difficult to follow. I am not saying that I agree that human-kind is causing global warming if the temperatures have in fact been going up it could be due to other factors. Overall, I do believe that the average temperatures have increased since 1978 per the first chart that you have provided. If we convert 0.15 Celsius to Fahrenheit it converts to 32.27 F which is pretty significant imho. There have been colder cycles and warmer cycles throughout time so we could be in a warmer cycle right now but also according to the first chart the you provided we have been in a warmer cycle since 2012 and this current cycle is the longest one on that chart being 6.5 years and the next longest one is 3.5 years but I admit that I have not looked at this enough to really understand it all. Edited to add: Several months ago when I looked into the seismic activity throughout the world, I noticed that there has definitively been an increase since the year 2000. Some years since the year 2000 are more active than others but overall there has been an increase since the 20th century.
Just to clarify, you would need to convert the amount of 0.15 C to F, and not 0.15 C temperature to its equivalent temperature in F. 0.15 of a C degree is equivalent to 0.3 of a F degree, so the temperature has increased about 0.3 F degrees per decade, or about 1.2 F degrees in the last four decades.
