Do you believe the Blessed Mother is Mediatrix of All Graces and Co-Redemptrix with Christ?

Xavier "In the end, My Immaculate Heart will Triumph."

Do you believe the doctrine often repeated by the Popes that Our Lady and Mother Mary, by Her co-operation with Jesus Christ Our Lord, from His birth to His death, but especially at the foot of the Cross, is our Co-Redemptrix with Christ, Mediatrix of all His graces, and our Advocate with the Triune God? If yes, do you think the time for the solemn definition of this doctrine as dogma is opportune? Dr. Mark Miravalle had the conviction that the promised Fatima Triumph would come along with the Papal definition of the Fifth Marian Dogma, after which Our Lady would release all the graces hidden in Her Immaculate Heart. The below is from Our Lady of All Nations. Bp. Josef Marianus declared them to be "of supernatural origin" in 2002 after investigation.

    This Time is Our Time

Here we have the heart of her mission and her coming to Amsterdam. Ida hears Our Lady saying: “I have said: this time is Our time. By this I mean the following: the world is caught up in degeneration and superficiality; it does not know which direction to turn. That is why the Father is sending me to be the Advocate, so that the Holy Spirit will come. For the world is not saved by force, the world will be saved by the Spirit. For it is nothing other than ideas which rule the world. Very well then, Church of Rome, know your task. Bring your ideas, bring Christ anew.’ Now the Lady remains standing without saying anything, as she gazes far into the distance. This lasts a while and then she says: ‘And the Lady stayed with her Apostles until the Spirit came.’ While she says this, that peculiar change comes over her face again; it is as if she were speaking from out of former times. I see priests and other people standing about her, as she says: ‘So also may the Lady come to her apostles and nations throughout the whole world, in order to bring them the Holy Spirit again and anew.”

    A New Prayer is Given

To invoke the Holy Spirit over our wounded world the Lady of all Nations gave a new, short and beautiful prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now your Spirit over the world. Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of all Nations, that they may be preserved from degeneration, disasters and war. May the Lady of all Nations, the Blessed Virgin Mary, be our Advocate. Amen” (1). She explains that time is pressing: “This time is Our time. Now the Father and the Son wants to be asked to send the Spirit. I recited to you the simple prayer and let you see how I wish to have it spread over the whole world…This simple prayer has been given for all peoples… All of you, no matter who or what you are, ask that the true Holy Spirit may come. This you shall ask the Father and the Son. The Divine Trinity will again reign over the world. The Lady stands here as the Advocate. The issue here is the Creator, not the Lady. Tell this to your theologians….” In the last 70 years the prayer has progressively been spread throughout the whole world. It has been translated in almost all languages, and has received the imprimatur from more then 60 bishops and cardinals.

    A Message for the Pope

The prayer, Our Lady promises, has great power, especially when prayed with the Church. She then addresses the Pope directly: “I have come today to bring a special message. Ask the Holy Father to pray the prayer, which Mary as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate, under the title ‘The Lady of All Nations’, has given to the world, and to lead the nations in praying it. Tell him: Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, teach your peoples this simple yet profound prayer. It is Mary, the Lady of All Nations, who asks this of you. You are the shepherd of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Tend your sheep. Know well, great threats are hanging over the Church, are hanging over the world. Now the moment has come for you to speak of Mary as Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix andAdvocate, under the title ‘The Lady of All Nations’. Why is Mary asking this of you? Because she has been sent by her Lord and Creator so that, under this title and through this prayer, she may deliver the world from a great world catastrophe.”

    The Last Marian Dogma

The last and most climactic element in the plan of the Lady of All Nations is the repeated request for the dogmatic proclamation by the Holy Father of her roles as Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate. If the Church solemnly proclaims her mission as Spiritual Mother of all Peoples, under the titles Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate, then She will be able to unfold her motherly mediating power in its fullest possible capacity. She makes a promise: “The Lady of All Nations wishes for unity in the true Holy Spirit. The world is covered by a false spirit, by Satan. Once the dogma, the final dogma in Marian history, has been proclaimed, the Lady of All Nations will grant peace, true peace, to the world. The nations, however, must pray my prayer, together with the Church. They shall know that the Lady of All Nations has come as Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate. So be it.” (2)

    Three Thoughts in One

Again and again, Our Lady explains why the dogma is necessary, and what it means. Ida gets a vision, in which she sees a hand, which looks more like a claw. In the claw, there is a die. The Lady says: “Satan’s hand is passing over the whole world, holding a die. Do you know, Church, Community, what this means? Satan is still the prince of this world. He holds on to everything he can. That is why the Lady of All Nations had to come now, in this time. For she is the Immaculate Conception and thus the Co-redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate. These three thoughts in one. Theologians, do you hear this well?” She stressed that the dogma is not a Marian idea apart from Christ and his Cross and God’s great plan of Redemption.

    Explanation for Theologians

Our Lady repeatedly offers explanation of the new dogma to the theologians: “Once again I say: the Son came into the world as the Redeemer of humanity. The work of redemption was the Cross. He was sent by the Father. Now, however, the Father and the Son wants to send the Lady throughout the whole world. For in the past, too, she went before the Son and followed Him. That is why I now stand on the world, on the globe. The Cross is firmly fixed upon it, implanted in it. Now the Lady places herself before it, as the Mother of the Son, who with Him accomplished this work of redemption. This image speaks for itself and shall already be brought into theworld, because the world needs the Cross again.”

Still again, she addresses directly the theologians: “Because Mary is Co-redemptrix, she is also Mediatrix, she is also Advocate. Not only because she is the Mother of the Lord Jesus Christ, but -and mark this well - because she is ‘the Immaculate Conception.’ Theologians, I ask you: do you still have objections to this dogma?”

    Controversy But Ultimate Victory

At the same time, Mary foresaw that much controversy will arise over this final Marian dogma: “The Church, Rome, however, shall not be afraid to take up this struggle. It can only make the Church stronger and more powerful… Fight for and ask for this dogma. It is the crowning of your Lady.” … I know well, the struggle will be hard and bitter (and then the Lady smiles to herself and seems to gaze into the far distance), but the outcome is already assured.” This dogma will be the last Marian dogma, the Lady emphasizes, but also the most important one: “Just as the Son knew me, so did He take me back again. The final Marian dogma will be the greatest one: to stand as Co-redemptrix before the Cross in this time.”

For over 100 years, many bishops and faithful have been zealous for the cause of this last Marian dogma. Saints have spoken in favor of this. In our own time, millions of faithful and hundreds of cardinals and bishops have requested the Holy Father to proclaim this truth now, amidst our own grave and troubled global times-- not as a purely theological issue, but as a testimony of faith, that will allow the Lady of All Nations and the Mother of All Peoples to bring great grace and ultimately “peace, true peace to the world.”

Yes, I for one do believe this and pray for the dogma of the Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate be proclaimed soon!

This is from one of the messages of Our Lady of All Nations given to Ida on Mary 31, 1955:
"When you begin to ask the Holy Father for the dogma, the Lady will fulfill Her promise and true peace will come. True peace, nations, that is the kingdom of God. God's Kingdom now is nearer than ever. Understand these words well. "

Wonderful! Thank you all. Joan J, I think the "true Holy Spirit" in those words of Our Lady is contrasted with the false spirit of the world and Satan, as the following sentence suggests. Do you see it differently?

Here's a great article from Dr. Mark Miravalle over at Christendom awake from some time ago on Mary Co-Redemptrix in saintly Sr. Lucia's writings:

    "Sister Lucia and Mary Co-redemptrix

    Dr. Mark Miravalle, S.T.D.

After the inspired Word of Sacred Scripture and the doctrinal grace of the Catholic Catechism, I believe the third book that every Fatima devotee should have close at hand is the new book of Sister Lucia which has been recently released in English, Calls From the Message of Fatima. A work truly directed by the Holy Spirit through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Calls From the Message of Fatima constitutes a veritable Marian catechism of faith and life, written in a down-to-earth mode, which can be grasped by all members of the Faith and all people of good will. I have no personal doubt that Sister Lucia's recent masterpiece will eventually become a spiritual classic, rightfully identified as the fruits of a mystic and of a saint.

This veritable Fatima catechism which includes inspired treatments on "In the Presence of God" (Part 1); "Calls From the Message of Fatima" (Part 2); "The Ten Commandments" (Part III) and "The Rosary" (Part IV), provides so many spiritual insights that the only true danger is to overlook some of the individual pearls amidst the overall treasure.

It is for this reason that I would like to isolate one of the foundational pearls of Sister Lucia's great work for its deserved appreciation, namely her predominant mariological theme of Our Lady as the "Co-redemptrix of the human race." Second only to the Marian title of "The Immaculate Heart of Mary," Mary Co-redemptrix is the most often cited and principal Marian theme presented by Sister Lucia throughout the book. Our Lady's coredemptive role with and under Jesus Christ in the accomplishment of Redemption is explained and expounded upon throughout the text, and always in ways which bring new appreciation to the unique role of the Mother of Jesus, as the New Eve with and under the New Adam, in the accomplishment of our Redemption.

Just as Pope John Paul II has used the title Co-redemptrix for Our Blessed Mother on six occasions during his pontificate, [1] so too Sister Lucia on six occasions refers to the doctrinal title of Our Blessed Mother as our Co-redemptrix with and under Jesus, both from the perspective of Our Lady's unique participation in restoring supernatural life to souls and as the perfect exemplar for each of us in our call to offer our daily sacrifices.

Pope John Paul II has also, on three occasions, called all Christians to be "co-redeemers" [2] with Jesus Christ in distributing the graces of Redemption to today's world, and Sister Lucia likewise accentuates Our Mother's Fatima call for redemptive sacrifice as a foundational principal of living the message of Fatima ...

    Mary's Role as Co-Redemptrix

The Fatima visionary further explains in her treatment of "The Call to Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary" (Chapter 13), how the entire work of our Redemption began in the Heart of Mary, the inseparable union of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary and why her role as Co-redemptrix manifests the union of their Two Hearts:

God began the work of our redemption in the Heart of Mary, given that it was through her "fiat" that the redemption began to come about:

"And Mary said, 'Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.' (Lk 1:38)."And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (Jn 1:14).

Thus, in the closest union possible between two human beings, Christ began, with Mary, the work of our salvation. The Christ's heart-beats are those of the heart of Mary, the prayer of Christ is the prayer of Mary, the joys of Christ are the joys of Mary; it was from Mary that Christ received the Body and Blood that are to be poured out and offered for the salvation of the world. Hence, Mary, made one with Christ, is the Co-redemptrix of the human race. With Christ in her womb, with Jesus Christ in her arms, with Christ at Nazareth and in his public life; with Christ she climbed the hill of Calvary, she suffered and agonized with Him, receiving into her Immaculate Heart the last sufferings of Christ, his last words, his last agony and the last drops of his Blood, in order to offer them to the Father. [4] ...

Mary as a Faithful and Devoted Wife

Part of the genius of Sister Lucia's treatment of Our Lady's role as Co-redemptrix is its concrete application to the Christian call to holiness which should convict the heart of every Christian and, especially, every son and daughter of the Fatima message. In her section on "The Call to Holiness" (Chapter 21), the author offers the example of Our Lady in her example of holiness as a devoted wife in the fulfillment of all the duties of her state in life:

Our Lady sanctified herself as a pure and immaculate virgin by corresponding to the graces which God granted to her in that state. She sanctified herself as a faithful and devoted wife by fulfilling all the duties of her state in life. She sanctified herself as a loving mother who dedicated herself to the Son whom God entrusted to her, fondling Him in her arms, bringing Him up and educating Him, and also helping Him and following Him in the performance of his mission. With Him she traveled the narrow way of life, the rugged road to Calvary; with Him she agonized, receiving in her heart the wounds of the nails, the piercing of the lance and the insults of the hostile crowd; finally, she sanctified herself as mother, mistress and guide of the Apostles, agreeing to remain on earth for as long as God wished, in order to accomplish the mission which He had entrusted to her as co-Redemptrix with Christ of all human beings. [5] ..."

...Let us join our prayers and sacrifices to this petition, that the entire Church and world will soon officially acknowledge that which Sister Lucia conveys to us in Calls From the Message of Fatima: that Mary is, with and under Jesus our Divine Redeemer, the Co-redemptrix of the human race. Let us daily pray that Our Lady can be "released" by the solemn proclamation so that she may be able to fully intercede for all the graces necessary for the Triumph of her Most Immaculate Heart, and hence to bring ultimate fulfillment to her quintessential Fatima promise, that

"in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph…and a period of peace will be granted to the world" (July 13th, 1917). " http://www.christendom-awake.org/pages/marian/5thdogma/lucia-co-redemptrix.htm

Hi Ezdras. Are you sure Our Lady was reported to say that in Medjugorje? I've heard differently. See below article. The Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart are closely united in all Their actions. Whenever the Holy Spirit desires to dispense grace to us, He does it through His Bride, our Mother Mary. She is called Daughter of God the Father, Mother of God the Son and Spouse of God the Holy Spirit. That's what many Saints and the Magisterium teach us. I think Heaven asks for our prayers not because they are needed but because we can freely choose to co-operate in God's plan. Our Lady chose to co-operate perfectly, so now the Holy Spirit is now perfectly united to Her and He dispenses all His graces to creatures through Her.

[IMG]OUR LADY HAS SPOKEN OF HERSELF AS THE “MEDIATRIX” ON THREE OCCASIONS. SHE SAYS THE HEAVENLY FATHER HAS SENT HER TO EARTH IN THIS ROLE.

    1.Medjugorje Message, July 17, 1986
“Dear children! Today I am calling you to reflect upon why I am with you this long. I am the Mediatrix between you and God. Therefore, dear children, I desire to call you to live always out of love all that which God desires of you. For that reason, dear children, in your own humility live all the messages which I am giving you. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”

2.Medjugorje Message, March 18, 2012 – The annual apparition of Our Lady to Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo
The visionary Mirjana Dragicevic-Soldo had daily apparitions from June24th 1981 to December 25th 1982. During the last daily apparition, Our Lady gave her the 10th secret, and told her that she would appear to her once a year, on the 18th of March. It has been this way through the years. Several thousand pilgrims gathered in prayer of the Rosary at the ‘Blue Cross’. The apparition lasted from 14:00 to 14:05.
“Dear children! I am coming among you because I desire to be your mother – your intercessor. I desire to be the bond between you and the Heavenly Father – your mediatrix. I desire to take you by the hand and to walk with you in the battle against the impure spirit. My children, consecrate yourselves to me completely. I will take your lives into my motherly hands and I will teach them peace and love, and then I will give them over to my Son. I am asking of you to pray and fast because only in this way will you know how to witness my Son in the right way through my motherly heart. Pray for your shepherds that, united in my Son, they can always joyfully proclaim the Word of God. Thank you. ”

    3. Medjugorje Message, July 2, 2012 – Apparitions to Mirjana
“My children; Again, in a motherly way, I implore you to stop for a moment and to reflect on yourselves and on the transience of this your earthly life. Then reflect on eternity and the eternal beatitude. What do you want? Which way do you want to set out on? The Father`s love sends me to be a mediatrix for you, to show you with motherly love the way which leads to the purity of soul; a soul unburdened by sin; a soul that will come to know eternity. I am praying that the light of the love of my Son may illuminate you, so that you may triumph over weaknesses and come out of misery. You are my children and I desire for all of you to be on the way of salvation. Therefore, my children, gather around me that I may have you come to know the love of my Son and thus open the door of eternal beatitude. Pray as I do for your shepherds. Again I caution you: do not judge them, because my Son chose them. Thank you. ”

Mediatrix of all graces is a title that Roman Catholics give to the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Mother of God; it includes the understanding that she mediates the Divine Grace. In a papal encyclical of Sept. 8, 1894 Pope Leo XIII states the following:

“The recourse we have to Mary in prayer follows upon the office she continuously fills by the side of the throne of God as Mediatrix of Divine grace”[1]

    — Pope Leo XIII, Iucunda Semper Expectatione
The Second Vatican Council referred in its document Lumen gentium to Mary as “Advocate, Auxiliatrix, Adjutrix and Mediatrix”.

    Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces
    by Father William G. Most

Closely related to the Catholic teaching on Mary's cooperation in the redemption is the teaching that, with through and under her Son, she is Mediatrix of all graces. What exactly does this mean?

The term Mediatrix in itself could refer to either the objective redemption (the once-for-all earning a title to grace for all men), to the subjective redemption (the distribution of this grace to individual men), or to both. It is most usual to use it to refer only to subjective redemption, i.e. , the process of giving out the fruits of the objective redemption, throughout all centuries. We must consider whether or not the term Mediatrix applies to all graces or only to some. We will ask also about the nature of the mediation: is it only by way of intercession, that is, does Mary simply pray to her Son that he may give us grace, or does God also use her as an instrument in distributing grace.

To begin, we can say without doubt that the title "Mediatrix" is justified, and applies to all graces for certain, by her cooperation in acquiring all graces on Calvary.

The Second Vatican Council (Lumen gentium ## 61-62), said:

... in suffering with Him as He died on the cross, she cooperated in the work of the Savior, in an altogether singular way, by obedience, faith, hope, and burning love, to restore supernatural life to souls. As a result she is our Mother in the order of grace.

This motherhood of Mary in the economy of grace lasts without interruption, from the consent which she gave in faith at the annunciation, and which she unhesitatingly bore with under the cross, even to the perpetual consummation of all the elect. For after being assumed into heaven, she has not put aside this saving function, but by her manifold intercession, she continues to win the gifts of eternal salvation for us. By her motherly love, she takes care of the brothers of her Son who are still in pilgrimage and in dangers and difficulties, until they be led through to the happy fatherland. For this reason, the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Auxiliatrix, Adiutrix, and Mediatrix. This however it to be so understood that it takes nothing away, or adds nothing to the dignity and efficacy of Christ the one Mediator. For no creature can ever be put on the same level with the Incarnate Word and Redeemer...."

We notice that Vatican II did not add the words "of all graces." However, as many papal texts point out, Mary's role in dispensation flows logically from her role in acquiring all graces. Further, the Council itself added a note on the above passage, in which it refers us to the texts of Leo XIII, Adiutricem populi, St. Pius X, Ad diem illum, Pius XI, Miserentissimus Redemptor, and Pius XII, Radiomessage to Fatima.

Leo XIII, in the text referred to, spoke of her, as we saw above, as having "practically limitless power." St. Pius X said she was the "dispensatrix of all the gifts, and is the "neck" connecting the Head of the Mystical Body to the Members. But all power flows through the neck. Pius XII said "Her kingdom is as vast as that of her Son and God, since nothing is excluded from her dominion." These and many other texts speak in varied ways of Mary as Mediatrix of all graces, so often that the teaching has become infallible.

I do believe in the Final Marian Dogmas. Though I confess to deep feelings of Humility as I do so. I still wrestle with mysteries like the Incarnation, the Assumption, and the Immaculate Conception. I suspect if I am in heaven a billion, billion years and with the help of a billion super smart angels I will not even be at the start of understanding.

However perhaps we are at the beginning of learning when we know how far we have to go.

Parents have rights over their chi ldren. She is his mother. So I think she is co-redemptrix because she cooperated fully in the redemptive plan. First by saying yes to the incarnation and therefore his body was made from hers entirely. Then by offering him at the presentation in the temple, when he was then ransomed back by the doves. Thirdly by having her heart transfixed at the cross after witnessing his excruciating torments and death. Fourthly by becoming the mother of the church at the foot of the cross. This takes nothing away from our Lord. It is merely representing full cooperation on a scale none of us can comprehend.

Yes it is possible. There are many reason people are concerned, from flinching visionaries in esctacy, to The messages that you pointed out that seem to contradict Fatima’s messages about Our Lady’s role, to the major Cardinal who is their biggest cheerleader (Schonborn). I don’t want to get into the Medjugorje debate on this thread, but using an unapproved apparition to dispute messages from Fatima and also Church tradition is not a very strong case.

The 5th Marian Digma goes much deeper than Our Lady of All Natuons ( which I also have some questions on and feel it may be another Lipa moment). Dr. Mark Miravalle does a wonderful job of explaining how the Church has taught this through the centuries.
