Dear Allyd May God bless you and your husband and I will pray for both of you, please pray for me and my husband. Maybe Our Lord wants us to join forces! I suspect you like me, remember the marriage vows that went something like,,,,, for better or for worse!, in good and in bad times! in sickness and in health! to death do we part and this profession of faithfulness and love to our spouse was before God in the Holy Sacrament of marriage! Thats enormous! Its a rare thing I would suspect, for anyone professing those vows, to realise that this profession may be tested in the future! I must admit that I often fail in loving as I should, especially the love I had so joyfully professed all those years ago, before my God! But God in His Mercy has given me many graces to accomplish this love! so when I fail it is I who fail and not my husband! I know your cross and I feel like you are my sister! Stay strong dear one! and like Beth said it is only possible with the rosary. And I can attest to this! To all the dear members that have prayed for me, please accept my sincere thanks I want to reply to you all individually because I am so touched by your love, prayers and support. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, there is a discernable change in my husbands attitude in the last two days and I have found this quite disconcerting to say the least as I don't know how to respond and I can only attribute this to the prayers said by the MoG forum, go figure? I have been working pretty full on over the last 3 weeks as the only other RN in our facility has gone on holidays and I have had to do many of her shifts, I will however reply to you all! For all those who are suffering - and that would include all of us, let us remember the prayer of Fr. Dolindo, “Jesus, I abandon myself to you. You take care of it!” I myself must pray this every day and trust that He will take care of everything we ask of Him - perhaps not in our time, but His - perhaps not in the way we would want - but His way which is the perfect way. Just abandon yourself in His arms like a little child and all will be well. Trust. Fiat!
A prayer that I pray every morning: My God, I consecrate myself and my family to Your mercy and I bind (names) to the Immaculate Heart of Mary with every Rosary I pray. Novena of Abandonment by Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo (d. 1970) Day 1 Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying? Leave the care of your affairs to Me and everything will be peaceful. I say to you in truth that every act of true, blind, complete surrender to Me produces the effect that you desire and resolves all difficult situations. O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times) Day 2 Surrender to Me does not mean to fret, to be upset, or to lose hope, nor does it mean offering to Me a worried prayer asking Me to follow you and change your worry into prayer. It is against this surrender, deeply against it, to worry, to be nervous and to desire to think about the consequences of anything. It is like the confusion that children feel when they ask their mother to see to their needs, and then try to take care of those needs for themselves so that their childlike efforts get in their mother’s way. If you say to Me truly: “Thy will be done“, which is the same as saying: “You take care of it”, I will intervene with all My omnipotence, and I will resolve the most difficult situations. O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times) Day 4 You see evil growing instead of weakening? Do not worry. Close your eyes and say to Me with faith: “Thy will be done, You take care of it.” I say to you that I will take care of it, and that I will intervene as does a doctor and I will accomplish miracles when they are needed. Do you see that the sick person is getting worse? Do not be upset, but close your eyes and say “You take care of it.” I say to you that I will take care of it, and that there is no medicine more powerful than My loving intervention. Satan tries to do exactly this: to agitate you and to remove you from My protection and to throw you into the jaws of human initiative. So, trust only in Me, rest in Me, surrender to Me in everything. O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times) Day 7 I perform miracles in proportion to your full surrender to Me and to your not thinking of yourselves. I sow treasure troves of graces when you are in the deepest poverty. No person of reason, no thinker, has ever perform miracles, not even among the saints. He does divine works whosoever surrenders to God. So don’t think about it any more, because your mind is acute, and for you, it is very hard to see evil and to trust in Me and to not think of yourself. Ally’s...and all who have posted prayer request most recently.... I’ve just thought that so many of us usually have our cross and typically do not share it...lately, a few of us have. Many of us are surprised to see the raw suffering of so many here...hardships before unknown to most of us. Makes me realize that most people we encounter throughout our daily life are most probably going through something. It makes me feel like I need to be more understanding and charitable....and less judgmental. We don’t know the struggles our neighbors are living with. For anyone reading any of this, I’m sure that any...and all of you have had their moment too. I pray that if you need Gods grace today, that He will bless you....especially those who have no one to pray for them. I offer my rosary today for you...+++

Carolyn thank you. I prayed for you and all our MOG family at Adoration this morning and continue--adding Allyd to the list. I am uniting my prayers to everyone 's prayers here. No prayer ever goes unanswered that is in line with His Will. We k now conversion is the prayer He loves and always answers(DM diary)
Blame it all on the pot. Get to a meeting for family members of drug users if you can. I know something about this and have been blessed to have come out on the other side. Prayers for this.

Starting this novena today, as Jesus said, A thousand prayers cannot equal one single act of surrender, remember this well. There is no novena more effective than this.

A tremendous novena indeed, Sam! The Novena of Abandonment w/the attached decade is now simply part of my daily walk. For me it is a moment of catching my breath and surrendering into Jesus' hands once more; trusting in Divine Providence! O Jesus, I surrender myself to you; Take care of everything!

Thank you, Beth, for this post because it expresses what I couldn't find the words to say. Reading this thread reminds me of the old saying "God makes the back for the burden" because I know that I don't have what it takes to carry the crosses folk on this thread have been carrying for years. There's a very special place in Heaven prepared for them. May the Lord continue to give them the grace to carry on for as long as it takes.
Dolours, I used to think the same...about not being able to carry certain crosses. I would flee from those crosses with as much energy as I possibly could. But when they catch up to you in spite of everything you do, you know you have no choice. If like the others here, you manage to get thought it, you know without any doubt, that it not you.. It’s simply grace. You are actually shocked that you survive...except you know who brought you through the storm. In the long run, for people who have and credit their faith, these crosses actually strengthen your faith. You quickly learn that if you survive them, it wasn’t you at all...you know it’s heaven sent. Just about every day of my life, I look up to heaven...and I say, “ Thank you Jesus “ Without Him....I cannot even imagine. I’m sorry for those who don’t know Him....those poor souls.
