Two of my sisters daughters are teachers, one is in nursing and the other is a public health worker in the community. All in Southern Ireland. She expects they will all be taking the vaccine, one of the teaching girls told my sister she expects to have to take the vaccine if she is to continue in her job. This girl teaches at secondary school level, I think they call that High School in America, so it will be interesting to see how many of the pupils will be vaccinated. It appears here in the UK vaccines will not be given to children under the age of 15. Secondary school (High School USA) age in Ireland used to be 14, don't know what it is now. Time will tell.
Interesting Julia. In the bible it says in the end times "what is bad will be good, and what is good will be bad". I never related that to a vaccine, but think about it. Something to ponder. Where I live in Alabama the majority of the people are against the vacc. About 25% are pro as far as I can tell. In other parts of the country it is just the opposite.

l am aware of much of what you include in your post. In response to the message out of Akita after the idol event at the Vatican, I tried to encourage recitation of the Seven Sorrows Rosary here on the Forum. That Rosary was recommended at the apparitions in Rwanda, and it seemed like a good option to make reparation to Almighty God for the idolatry, We have to hold on to our Faith, we have to stay with the Pope to be united in our precious Faith. I have great peace in this regard by thinking how many people have poor parenting, yet still can't deny the reality of their parents. We have always known our Holy Fathers to be excellent examples of good fathers, but now we have an example of what appears to be a father who does not seem to be in the same mould as we have been used to. We are like a family with a father whose eye does not seem to be on the ball so to speak. We need to sincerely love him and pray for him, and with God's help he will complete the mission entrusted to him. We are getting a taste of what some families have always known, a father who seems to be more concerned with other (faith) families while his own are starving and naked and emotionally bereft for want of a good father. The danger in saying , 'Yes', to something that appears only mildly bad to ourselves is that something much worse may come into our homes with it. The vaccine is a good example. If we Sign up for this we are implicitly agreeing to take this vaccine for the rest or our lives, with all that that entails. I am in judgment of no one who chooses the government sponsored vaccines. But the fear-mongering concerning new variants means Big Brother intends to play this game out into the future. In the past few years as a chaplain, I've had to get a new flu shot that had been developed to address (as far as possible) the current variant, the most recent strain of the flu. Mask wearing, social-distancing, and quarantine weren't required. But we're in a different reality now.
