On the "Countdown" thread, it is important to remind people, I think, that Mark Mallett and his collaborators' ideas, are not (yet?) mainstream in the Church.

Mark Mallett has been criticized for his writings on"End Times." Also, for the link with Vassula Ryden through Fr. Iannuzzi. There is a post on Mark's blog that gives his side of the debate, "Rethinking the End Times." He reacts strongly,

"IT’S not every day you get called a heretic.

But it so happens that three men are suggesting just that. I have remained silent about it for the past two years, quietly refuting their charges through numerous writings. But two of these men—Stephen Walford and Emmett O’Regan—have not only attacked my writings as heretical on their blog, in books, or on forums, but have even recently written my bishop in order to have me removed from ministry (which he ignored, and instead, issued me a letter of commendation.) Desmond Birch, a commentator on EWTN, has also taken to Facebook of late to declare that I am promoting “false doctrine.” Why? All three of these men have something in common: they have written books which declare that their interpretation of the “end times” is the correct one.

Our mission as Christians is to help Christ save souls; debating about speculative theories is not, which is why I have not worried too much about their objections until now. I find it somewhat grievous that, at a time when the world is closing in on the Church and so many are being divided by this present pontificate, that we would turn on one another.

I feel a certain obligation to answer what are rather serious public charges, even though most of you are likely not aware of them—yet. It is the wise advice of St. Francis de Sales that, when our “good name” is calumniated by others, we should remain silent and bear it with humility. But he adds, “I except certain persons on whose reputation the edification of many others depends” and by reason “of the scandal it would provoke...”

I believe, this "dispute" between Mark Mallett and Emmett O'Regan, etc., is discussed in other threads on MoG.

  5. Edson Glauber – The Church’s Purification

Our Lady to Edson Glauber on June 20th, 2020:

    Peace to your heart!

My son, pray much and allow me to tell your heart my painful call to all my children in the whole world. With the departure of Pope Benedict XVI from the Vatican[1], God is giving a signal to Catholics around the world that He is about to punish the Holy Church and humanity in a most terrible way, because of sins, scandals and corruptions; and the false stone will break in half[2], because it was not the real one and it was not grounded in Christ, my Son.

All men and women of goodwill bow their knees to the ground, because the son of darkness is receiving the power of the father of lies to act and bring pain, suffering and terrible persecutions to the Holy Church and to all humanity. There will be few who will remain faithful on God’s path. Many will betray eternal truths out of fear of pain and persecution, and they will be the ones who will no longer live the teachings that my Son Jesus left in His Holy Church. This is the time when the devil is mocking the Ministers of God who have became cowardly and let themselves be overcome by the authority of men, disobeying the authority of God, not having the full courage to defend the rights of the Lord, because they did not love the truth that they preached, and many of them have been living only by appearances, offending the Lord with a double life of error, full of sins.

Pray, pray and make reparation for the terrible sins of the world, for God’s justice is coming in a way never seen before, and intensely upon all the Ministers of God and on all humanity, and when it reaches them, stone will not be left on stone, because they did not listen to me, offending the Heart of my Divine Son and my Immaculate Heart.

I bless you, my son. Remain with the peace of my maternal Heart and with my protection for you and your whole family!

Before leaving, the Holy Mother, comforted my heart with these words that entered into and moved my heart:

Glauber, pray for the Pope. Glauber, have faith and live up to your baptismal name, the name with which God enlightened your parents[3] and with which you will be known until the end of your life. Faith, faith, faith, my son, Glauber! … Be an example of faith to all the people of Amazonia, Glauber, and in the end, my son Jesus will give you the reward of those who have never doubted and always trusted in the power of His name and His divine love.

    Translator’s notes:

    1. The words “departure from the Vatican” almost certainly refer to Benedict XVI’s current journey to visit his ailing elder brother Msgr Georg Ratzinger in Regensburg, Germany. This is the first time that Benedict has left Italy since his retirement: www.catholicnewsagency.com. The current message should not be taken as implying that the Church entered into schism or apostasy with Benedict XVI’s abdication, as since 2013 the Pope Emeritus has been living at the Mater Ecclesiae monastery within Vatican City.
    2. Note that it is only the “false stone” that will break in half, whereas the Church is still referred to as “Holy;” thus, this message to Glauber clearly cannot be construed as describing the Church itself, under Francis, as “the false stone.”
    3. “Glauber” means “believer” in German.

A red flag, to me, the way that this message has "the Holy Mother," praising Glauber so much.

Has anything happened with the dispute between Glauber/his followers, and the Vatican? I remember, they were unhappy with the request to stop spreading messages?

  7. I agree with you. something is wrong with this seer. there are very serious people in Brazil stop believing in Edson Glauber and Pedro Regis. the latter has said that there is no authority over him within the church and implying that Pope Francis is a false prophet.

  10. Do the visionaries of Medjugorje have a whole different outlook on the future compared the other people presenting themselves as receiving messages?
Here is an excerpt from this internet generated translation of the interview that Jakov Colo gave in 1999. He along with the other five visionaries have been tested exhaustively multiple times by scientists, they have taken polygraph tests. They have been found to be normal.

JAKOV: Sometimes, when there are so many pilgrims in Medjugorje and every moment they knock on the door, we happen to say: "But how do we do it ...?" Sometimes difficult situations arise because we are all men and we all get tired. But we certainly did not complain to Our Lady because she chose us to give testimony.

FATHER LIVIO: Perhaps people do not realize how demanding the daily and continuous witness before pilgrims is. I'm not saying it's difficult, but it certainly requires a lot of patience.

JAKOV: Much depends on the groups that come to Medjugorje. There are some who come only to hear the messages of Our Lady. But there are others who ask strange questions, such as if there will be three days of darkness, if you have to prepare candles and things like that. It really depends on the people who come. Of course if you see people who want to welcome the messages of Our Lady, you feel immense joy in your heart, but if strange questions are asked ... (59)

    (59) Jakov wants to allude to those groups that refer to self-styled private revelations, who come to Medjugorje out of desire for morbid curiosity and not to grow in faith, as Our Lady asks. One of their characteristics is the search for prophecies on the details of the imminent end of the world. Pilgrims of this kind are certainly not numerous, but they are annoying, because they do not have an open heart to receive the message of the Queen of peace.

Yes, the way the above highlight is nuanced, the speaker implies the Pope's departure would be more extended, not for 3 days!o_O:censored:

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

The messages from Medjugorje have consistently been what we as ordinary Catholics should be focusing on. Prayer especially Rosary, Fasting, Confession, Holy Eucharist, Penance, read the Bible.

At least this is in a nutshell how I have come to understand Medjugorje. We are not encouraged to get into curiosity about the future. If we are following these guidelines, we are doing everything possible as foot soldiers in the service of Almighty God.

I believe when people ask the Medjugorje visionaries about other messages or old handed down messages about 3DD, these would not be relevant to them, since Our Lady has come to lead us all back to our roots NOW. This would be the mission entrusted to the visionaries. We could not reasonably expect them to be experts on other revelations, messages or visions. They tell us what they have heard and seen....their testimony.

It is all about The Present Moment. The past is history, tomorrow is a great mystery, and we have only today at our disposal. The Present Moment. IMHO :notworthy:

in fact, the original in Portuguese has the sense of definitive departure, of moving to another place with no intention of returning. I think this time the devil left his tail out

  19. Forgive me, but how are people taking this alleged “seer” seriously? Good grief! Just read his words. Is this what happens to good discernment when everyone and their grandmothers are getting equal airtime: desensitization? It all seems so weak and rambling. This is the time of much false prophesy. Be sober and watch. Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, keep us from all error!

At the core of these prophecies that we are asked through Holy Scripture and the Church to prayerfully discern, is to convert, repent, love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and be in a state of grace. This has been the message for two thousand years.

The purpose of private revelation is to deepen our faith and to bring about some form of action. For me personally, at the very least, contemporary private revelation has moved me to seriously pursue the above actions, and in the end, is this not what God and our blessed Mother have desired for us through all the ages?

As I continue to read and discern private revelation on these times (for this is a relatively new discovery for me) I make a conscious effort not to get wrapped around specifics, which results in fear and anxiety for me, and is the work of Satan; rather, I try to focus on God’s love and divine providence, and that if I fully give myself to him, I will not lose sight of the knowledge that all that happens is an act of love.

    Blessings to you
