Come spring I think I will ask about hawthorns at our local nursery. I would like to plant a few around our property. We don't have very good soil where we live, it's very sandy, but if we fertilize well they may grow.

Dear God this is horrible. Considering they have 2 laboratories in Wuhan linked to a Chinese bio warfare program, it doesn't surprise me that the Chinese tried to cover this up. While it certainly is possible people were sickened by eating infected animals, I'm more inclined to believe these laboratories were somehow involved. Poor people.
Just thought I would put this out there for anyone with flu we have used this successfully for the last few years Toast topped with banana manuka honey and ground cinnamon (no butter or margarine) Hot drink Boiled water honey cinnamon turmeric lemon and ground ginger let it sit for 10 minutes and then sieve and drink Works for us
Apparently the symptoms of this particular Chinese type are said to be three times worse than that of a normal flu. So I'd say if you had it you'd know you had it, you'd be out for the count.

Don, you live in the Seattle area and a case has been reported in Washington. Hopefully all the precautions are just an abundance of care to protect the vulnerable. I’m in the PDX area now and a case has been diagnosed in Orange County, CA. So it has reached the west coast.
