https://www.ncregister.com/intervie...ovid-related-sacrament-restrictions-grave-sin No wonder modernists within the Church pushed to have Cardinal Mueller removed Prefect of the CDF! The collaboration of Pope and bishops with globalists and the covid-19 agenda is so sad. O Mary conceived without sin, let us join you in interceding for the Prelates of our Catholic Faith!
Good link you found, Mario. So many church leaders have lost sight of the goal. I gotta wonder what it is they believe in. There are still good and brave shepherds out there. They seem so few and far in between, they're like lone voices crying out in the wilderness. Hopefully, they can change the tide. I need to make more effort to pray for our priests and religious. https://www.ncregister.com/intervie...ovid-related-sacrament-restrictions-grave-sin Cardinal Gerhard Müller Calls COVID-Related Sacrament Restrictions ‘Grave Sin’ In an interview with the Register, the German cardinal also warned against bishops and priests who ‘offer themselves as courtiers to the rulers of this world and make themselves their propagandists.’ ... How do you think the Church should be responding (to closing churches and forbidding unvaccinated Catholics from taking the sacraments); what should her leaders be saying? In times of crisis, places of worship and people’s hearts must be wide open so that people may seek refuge in God, from whom all help comes. All vaccines have a limited temporal effect. No medicine or technical invention can save us from temporal and eternal death. The Bread that Jesus gives is the cure for eternal death and — without an expiration date — the food for eternal life. “Whoever eats this bread will live forever” (John 6:51). An
This is a core and fundamental truth! When Church acquiesced to temporal authority by closing and giving in to their demands, she unfortunately, gave away her fundamental purpose- to help save souls via Jesus Christ. Not being able to receive the source of eternal life - the Eucharist- is IMO the most harmful impact to befall the Church in a long time. I’m glad most Churches are now open again, but the damage has been done both in it setting a bad precedent but more so in planting in peoples mind…especially the young that you can watch mass on TV or your laptop…as it it’s the same.
This woman expressed the sentiments of most parents …she was amazing. The children do not need these worthless mask and as she rightly stated…its for political theater. Last night on Fox News it was revealed that the pressure to keep our children masked was to please the teachers unions, otherwise the politicians would remove these restrictions. So to please these unions, they are willing to subject these children to the negative consequences of mask both mentally and physical pain to please these teachers unions…the same leftist unions that have been pushing CRT and the demonic sex education programs that are being taught in public schools as early as kindergarten. If the only good this pandemic caused was the awakening of parents to the leftist propaganda being forced on our children, then hopefully parents will now take this more seriously and stop the collective garbage being taught in our schools. The ones who have the ability to remove their children should. People are finally catching on.
This is so scary and it’s looking more and more to be credible. If this is true, God help us. It’s almost too much to absorb.
Rain, your post is so well stated. I think it represents how most of us feel after the fallout of this pandemic of over two years now and especially the churches response to it. As you rightly noted , “No medicine or technical invention can save us from temporal and eternal death. The Bread that Jesus gives is the cure for eternal death and — without an expiration date — the food for eternal life. “Whoever eats this bread will live forever” (John 6:51).” Going forward with regards to our church, I think your quote from Cardinal Muller also gets it right….and I think he represents most here, even if he doesn’t echo the majority of the hierarchy….to repeat…: Cardinal Gerhard Müller Calls COVID-Related Sacrament Restrictions ‘Grave Sin’ In an interview with the Register, the German cardinal also warned against bishops and priests who ‘offer themselves as courtiers to the rulers of this world and make themselves their propagandists.’ ...
I will say I am my family in our little corner of the world have been quite blessed to have had what I can also describe of priests who have been Christs “foot soldiers” - they threaded the needle - obedience to their bishop when in height of pandemic Churches were ordered closed and obedience to Christ to make the Eucharist and sacraments available.
The good pastor of the church I’ve been attending is one of the few faithful in all matters. Although he does not offer a Latin mass, he is old school. Initially he followed the diocesan directives re Covid restrictions but has since apologized for limiting the sacrifice of the mass and the restrictions that went along with the whole thing. Recently he has told the congregation that he’ll never do that again. He’s no flame thrower, but he’s firmly orthodox. I pray we’ve all learned a lot from these past two years…priest included. I don’t feel confident that the hierarchy is listening to the voices of the faithful as they seem to be complicit with the state.
There was a religious painting behind her on the wall. I could not quite make it out. I wonder if it was a famous painting of Our Lady holding out a pair of Rosary Bead?
To expand on this miker, it trickles right down to the children who are the future of the Catholic Church. For nearly two years now, all religions education at our parish have been 'zoom classes'. My seven year old granddaughter is in the First Communion class this year, and my daughter said that these virtual classes were hardly adequate to prepare the children to approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and First Communion with confidence. My daughter has done her best to fill in the gaps, but nothing takes the place of a physically present teacher, and priests, at the church. This is such a spiritual experience that without human interaction the children cannot develop a solid relationship with their teachers or parish priests. There are very sensitive children who need extra reassurance, how can they trust a face on a laptop screen? My granddaughter was terrified to go to her First Reconciliation this past Saturday, it went far beyond the typical nervousness, she was in tears. We all did our best to console her, but I worry that she will always be fearful. It is heartbreaking to think so many Catholic children will not have a solid faith foundation, they barely learn their prayers. There are also many Catholic parents who rely completely on parish religious education programs, and these children receive little to no instruction in the home. Once this zoom nonsense came on the scene, it led to an attitude of disinterest since children and parents were detached from the parish community. I do wonder how this breakdown of parish life will affect our children years down the road. As you said, the damage has been done.
Like you Jo, I also fear the long term consequences of the lockdown/ video schooling, etc. You’re also right that many families completely depend on the catholic education programs to train their children in the faith. It must have been a anxious event for most of them…including the poor parents! I’ve read that the children have essentially lost two years of their overall education not to mention the social issues. Boy, there are a lot of people that forced this nonsense on our children that will have a lot of accountability.
Trudeau is passing an Emergency Act against truckers in Ottawa. Not sure what it entails, but doesn't sound good.Hard times ahead for Canada, as Trudeau projects hatred against anti vaxed. Media is helping it grow. My husband is still unemployed from suspension from Federal government .He had several interviews, but when they hear why he was suspended they don't call back. He may have to vax.
You know Jo even before the pandemic many parents imo abdicated their responsibilities in bring the “first and best” teachers of their children in passing on the faith. I taught 7th grade CCD and I saw how poorly catechised kids were. They did know their prayers, the fundamentals of the faith , etc. It was sad. And now no doubt the fact they’ve been on zoom for 2 years only exacerbates this situation. Thank goodness your daughter tried. And for your granddaughter maybe you find a friendly priest who helps her feel comfortable. I will pray she find the right experience to find the joy in encountering Jesus and his mercy in reconciliation
Praying he finds a job Carmelite! Hopefully these mandates are over soon! Peoples are going to fight for their jobs that they were forced out of for no good reason. Maybe he can get his old job back!
