I think there is - as you highlight, a bigger plan. All the participating countries from Australia to the U.S., Britain, France, Canada, Ireland etc etc will soon converge in their policy response to Covid.
I also believe that this is 'their' winter. They can't let us get to Spring without turning the screw down hard. Buckle up!!

  2. Israeli 'wargame' sees kids suffering vaccine-resistant COVID strain

The script sees a fictitious strain, "Omega", bypassing the vaccines which Israel rolled out at record pace this year. Omega also sickens children - largely spared by the actual virus - prompting mass hospitalisations and school closures.”

    it is ADE.

So after mass vaccination of Israeli children, they are now projecting widespread sickness in children...

Well we will know better, won't we, when/if it happens? People should start talking about it now...that the vaccination of children is going to lead to much harm that will be touted as a new strain.

The Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima is a foundation set up to provide financial aid to Americans who lost their jobs due to refusing the vaccine:

This Confraternity is from Bishop Athanasius Schneider. Vaccine exemptions are granted through this website as well. (y);):)

Why is it down to you to find a vaccinated Deacon to replace you? Isn't that the responsibility of the Bishop or the Pastor of the parish where the nursing home is located?

The Bishop can't mandate you to take a vaccine. He can withdraw you from that ministry if you don't get vaccinated. I don't see how your refusing to be vaccinated amounts to disobedience to your Bishop when nobody has the authority to order you to be vaccinated.

The Catholic teaching on vaccines is that they are not mandatory
Each soul has a right to refuse

    Whatever,

This situation is very difficult personnel wise. With the continual shrinkage in the number of priests, the Diocese has become dependent on the deacons to give assistance at the parishes. A number of parishes have deacons as Parish Administrators with retired priests coming in to celebrate Holy Mass; in such scenarios the deacons will usually give the homilies, too. Thus, the number of deacons given faculties as chaplains is limited. I had a conversation with the supervisor of deacons dedicated to chaplaincy; he recommended only one possible chaplain to fill in. Because of that deacon's existing commitments, the supervisor also said that deacon would have to voluntarily assume the responsibility. He gave me the task of making the sales pitch. I'll find out soon if that particular deacon is willing. If not, the pressure will be on me to take the vaccine. If I decline then the nursing home will be out a Catholic chaplain.

Also, New York State mandates that all healthcare workers be vaccinated including chaplains. Unvaccinated workers could claim a religious exemption until last week, but then the circuit court shot down that privilege. This means I must now be vaccinated if I want to continue serving in my current capacity. Every other deacon chaplain has already chosen to be vaccinated. I'm the oddball in the mix.

Not any more special than the others; just trying to follow God's Will.

Thank you for explaining the personnel issues.
However, I cringe when I think of you putting that shot into your system.
    Still praying.

I understand your reasons, Mario, and was merely pointing out that refusing to be vaccinated is not disobedience to your Bishop.

People refuse the vaccine for various reasons. I suppose it boils down to your reason(s) for avoiding this vaccine. If you believe in your heart that taking the vaccine is cooperating with the intrinsic evil of abortion and the ongoing harvesting and sale of foetal organs, then no good works can justify such co-operation. I think that's covered by the teaching that we can't do evil so good may come of it. If you can square your conscience with taking the vaccine on the grounds that the Church leadership sees no harm in what they call remote co-operation, then your hesitancy must be down to some other reason. If it's distrust in the long term effects of the vaccine on your physical health, then you must weigh up how much you are willing to risk the possible consequences for you and your family for the sake of the spiritual wellbeing of the nursing home residents. Maybe you have other reasons but I can't see how any reasons other than the two I mentioned could be weighing so heavily on you.

The people in the Church who are most enthusiastic about promoting the vaccines tend to be those who also promote primacy of conscience over Church teaching on adultery, sodomy, co-operation with or promotion of abortion, Communion for non-Catholics and Catholics openly opposed to Church teaching, etc., so where this vaccine is concerned, it's hard to see how a properly informed conscience shouldn't be what guides any Catholic's decision. Secular authority has no role in deciding what is the right thing to do. They, like your Bishop, can punish you but the decision is entirely down to you and your conscience. I will pray that you will have peace of mind whatever is your final decision.

None of that changes the fact that, no matter who asked you to find a replacement, the responsibility for doing so is not yours.

It is easy to become desensitized to the horror of abortion. Every once in a while I'll go back to the following, to watch the numbers grow (80 abortions per minute). This is why the argument of remoteness crumbles before this death dealing cult of Moloch!:cry: We must detach and resist!

Yes, given enough time, people can become desentitised to all sorts of evil. Our parents would have recoiled in horror at what we accept as normal. One abortion is evil, yet it was legalised using concern for the poor and suffering women as the excuse, and now hardly anyone raises an eyebrow at millions every year. Concern for the poor and suffering is always used as a cover for evil agendas.

A couple of my acquaintance who are very devout Catholics contracted the virus despite being fully vaccinated. They got the monoclonal antibody treatment because it was available and they could afford it. I don't know whether they were aware of the use of humanised animals in the development of those antibodies. Maybe knowing wouldn't have made a difference to them because they aren't theologians and remote co-operation is an elastic term that can be stretched to cover any and all situations short of personally removing the child from the mother's womb and negotiating the price of the baby's organs.

I will pray for you, Mario, and everyone in your predicament.

Praying that the legal system causes these evil mandates to collapse for you and everyone trying hard to do the right thing.
I think the mandates will not hold up upon appeal…possibly not going to be appealed and the lower court ruling stands.

    Sigh.

Here we go again. Another Lock down.

Total insanity. I wouldn't mind so much but everyone will go along with it. It reminds me Turkeys voting for Christmas.

    Sigh. Sigh . Sigh.

Praying for you. My own situation is exactly the same with different circumstances. My sick mother now on chemo won't see any of my family now since we're unvaxed, this dispite being perfectly healthy and testing everytime we see her. (Up to now)

I only find peace in not taking these mRNA shots. If Novavax was available I think I'd be the first in line to get it, not because I belief it is safe or effective or buy into any part of what is going on but only for my mother's sake. But I would still act as unvaxed and refuse to jump on the booster train.

Meanwhile we can proove covid free and those vaxed can not. Cases are almost 50/50 vaxed/unvaxed. Ontario Health policy is vaxed do not have to test if involved in an outbreak unless certain conditions are met.

We look like selfish, self centered idiots at this point, but no one will listen to the long list of reasons and concerns we have.

I want to be following God's will perfectly but I'm hurting my mother in her time of need. Hours of prayer and thanks to many prayers here still leads me to holding off.

I am putting it in Mother Mary's hands but seems this cup isn't passing from me.

My heart is broken and the doors all seem closed. I Trust Jesus will bring us through this but at what cost?

Todays first reading is certainly sobering. In fact all the readings today and next Sunday… Feast of Christ the King….focused on end times. Now who knows, maybe we are getting close? But, more likely, we all have our personal end to face first. And not to scare us, but these reading remind me that while God is full of love and mercy, He also is a God of Justice. He will have the scales ready. He separates the goats and sheep. And all I know, is today is a good day to get right with God. Continue my conversion. Trusting in his mercy, but also cooperating by repenting , frequent confession, prayers and fasting. God is good!

    In those days, I Daniel,
heard this word of the Lord:
"At that time there shall arise
    Michael, the great prince,
    guardian of your people;
it shall be a time unsurpassed in distress
since nations began until that time.
At that time your people shall escape,
everyone who is found written in the book.

    “Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake;
    some shall live forever,
others shall be an everlasting horror and disgrace.

“But the wise shall shine brightly
like the splendor of the firmament,
and those who lead the many to justice
shall be like the stars forever."
