I agree but its way too early to draw any conclusions from all this. We in the West are at what would amount to December in China for the progression of this virus through the population. We also have far better medical and hygiene practices in general. China, in spite of its megalithic cities is not a first world nation. It will be IMO the coming 6-8 weeks that will shed light on how it will progress through the rest of us.

I agree Don. I have been following this closely and I think the jury is still out. It is troubling that Italy and iran and South Korea have deaths and an ongoing spiking of cases.

Here's another video from Dr. John Campbell. It makes for grim viewing, especially the part about Iran. Dr. Campbell said that Italy has 30 cases now but Euronews are reporting 59 cases: 46 in Lombardy, 11 in Veneto, one each in Piemonte and Umbria. That's a whole lot more than the 27 cases reported yesterday.
I knew there weren't enough non Asian cases to support the theory but I hung onto that pipe dream as long as I could . It's gone now for sure
No dreams. I'm not a sharp dreamer anyway. But a few Christmases ago a few people here felt it would be the last Christmas celebrated in the way we knew it. That things were about to change. Well I felt that big time this Christmas.
I'm from Southern Calif, also earthquake country, I wrote essentially this to a friend: There is no reason to think that what is happening in China, and now just starting in Italy, Iran and South Korea wont happen here. Your going to want to self isolate your family and have the supplies necessary to do it. I've been stocking up on food supplies. Did you know you cant buy toilet paper in Hong Kong, that and hand sanitizer, masks etc were the first things to go. You can't get hand sanitizer or masks here either. But its still early enough to get the rest. Dont delay, ask God. I strongly suggest you stock up on the following items and more for survival for at least one month and then after you have made up you list and gone shopping , then double/triple or more the quantities. When it finally becomes apparent to other people that this needs to be done. The store shelves will become bare overnight as the system cant handle it. Now this list will work for the pandemic where you assume electricity and running water may not be a problem. But for an earthquake it would be very inadequate as electricity and water will go out. toilet paper cough drops cough syrup aspirin etc ( flu medicine) current working thermometer first aid medicines, to include pepto bismol, etc , anything you have usually used. (for me bandaids, triple antibiotic ointment) **rice cooker** **crock pot** 10/20lb bags of rice; enriched white rice or brown rice dried beans; (all kinds; do not buy **kidney beans**, a crock pot is not sufficient heat for them and they will cause serious stomach problems, garbanzo, red, black,pinto etc just fine) canned goods: beans, soups, cup of noodles (canned gets you by if no electricity or water, buy a mix of these things; Walmart is cheapest for canned items; Asian stores for dry rice/beans; I'd start at Walmart first) When your sick you probably cant stomach much more than a thin soup or cup O Noodles. laundry detergent: cough syrup is expensive: but get several 8oz bottles at Walmart very cheap or maybe Costco etc. cough drops: get large $5 bag, perhaps several. 3lb tubs Quick Oatmeal: can be even eaten dry , even if no water You can also shop at SmartNFinal, and get supersized canned good (meant for instutional/restaurant cooking), which are good for a family situation. rice and beans together is known as the perfect food, as together they are not missing any nutrient or protein. Buy some kind of sauce for the rice/beans, SmartNFinal is good for bulk for this item or know that you can even get by with any kind of salad dressing. Most sauces/dressings if they contain vinegar , once opened, can last up to 2-4 weeks(more or less) outside of the frig, true!... but not advertised. Very dependent on where vinegar is listed in the ingredients list Go through your pantry and make a list, buy on Monday, rethink, buy some more on Tuesday,repeat. You must hurry at this time! fill up your freezer and refrigerator. I've been buying the last two weeks. Los Angeles and Orange have huge Asian/Chinese populations as evidenced by their concentrated areas/regions and ethnic stores. It should hit strongly here. I can share youtube videos of one expert who does a daily analysis...probably the best out there. Dont be afraid, be prepared. Apprently when it hits you its like getting hit on the back of the head like a 2 by four.You can't even get out of bed. Like three times having the flu. Something to consider...and plan for. Not being able to get out of bed is a big deal for nursing.
I had read a few days ago about the impacts of the epidemic that could cause an economic recession in Japan and Italy, now reading about the speed of contagion in Italy, I wonder if this epidemic would be a possible trigger for a major global economic crisis
