I think she is reckless. Her reasoning is flawed. Just because children generally will not die from the virus doesn't mean they cannot spread it to those who can. Yes, the evil one is using the virus to institute changes that suit his purpose. But that does not mean that the virus is not a real health concern. The evil one will tempt people to overreact and tempt others to under-react.
Rest in Peace. But at least she sounds like the kind of soul tht would not be kept wating long on the doorstep to heaven.
The virus is real but the lock down is unprecedented in History. The narrative is dictated by scientists who give conflicting information. Don't wear a mask/do wear a mask etc. The death rate for covid is 0.2% for those who get the disease. You have a 99.8% chance of survival. The key is to protect the vulnerable and let the rest of us get on with our lives.
If not for a presidential election year, does anyone think for a moment the Covid issue would try and shut the USA down? Socialists/communists will do anything to gain power and many politicians have done as much as they can to this point. It shows what they are willing to do if/when they get power back.
No Fatima, if not for an election year I do not think we would be dealing with shut downs, or the horrific rioting. They are pulling out all the stops to tear our country apart, and remove President Trump. All of this is demonic.
Then the world should shut down business, travel and schools every year due to cold and flu viruses based on this. WHO estimates 2017 flu killed 290,000 to 650,000 people worldwide. Why didn't we close down to save them? So is this an overreaction?
It is a walk across a tightrope. I have known 4 people right in my little village who had the virus. Two were deathly ill and the rest were not. The link between them all was the local Methodist Church. So there is some validity to concerns about gathering in enclosed spaces. Some people show no symptoms at all but bring it home to loved ones who get very sick. (Also know of this personally)I don't like manipulation of this at all by ideologically driven pols and others but it must not be ignored or minimized either.

I have come to realize if he is re-elected, we will no doubt have wide spread all out rioting. If Biden is elected, nation-wide socialism will be outwardly accepted, hence communism more and more easily introduced. Clearly that's what the American CP is hoping for. Therefore, my heartfelt prayer remains, Lord, THY will be done!
I just attended a Zoom meeting for choir. We are gradually returning, women first followed by men, followed by all......gradually seeing how it goes. Several of us sang full mask in the front of church for our director at the end of Mass to celebrate his 10th Anniversary as Music Director for the parish. It so struck the Pastor and Director, they made the final decision to bring us back bit by bit. Consensus on masks in definitely mixed. For us to return as a group indoors, I support masks. I think we'll go downstairs from the loft to receive Our Lord and stay down for the Communion Hymn. We'll see how it goes!
I learned today that my parish was once again open for Mass from a friend I was visiting. I asked how they were handling communion and she said the priest consecrates and when it is time to receive, the priest disappears and 2 EM's roll out a plexi-glass contraption and you go up (masks of course) and the EM's pass the host through a notch in the plexi-glass, much like a bank teller that is behind plexi-glass. I said, where does Father go? And she didn't know but he did not hand out communion. How very sad and sterile. Do these people NOT realize what the Eucharist is? Wow, has the Tucson diocese sunk low. I mentioned this to my husband and he was upset. He said "So the shepherd is abandoning the flock and putting the lay flock (EM's) in danger?" The virus is the harm and the shepherd has left the building letting them deal with any danger. Ugh. Good point but it is very sad. So, we will continue to go to the Phoenix diocese where things are relatively normal.
How awful Tanker. Thankfully you have some place to go. We must pray for this priest and others like him, to reawaken to the faith. This is a time where we need our pastors most to lead us and comfort us with God's love and mercy. I never expected this total abandonment by the Church. How is it that hospitals, with their doctors, nurses, and technicians are open to heal the body, but churches, with their priests, which we need to heal our souls are closed?
Sadly we have the same awful plexi-glass booths going on at our church. I think it is an insult to Our Lord to distribute Holy Communion in this manner. It has become a terrible distraction for me.
