You did indeed receive a great grace, from your pastor himself, no less.
My Bishop did this (Waterford and Lismore):
His reward will be great in Heaven.
Over in the "Signs" thread, EarthToAngels posted a link to a story about how the rat population in New Orleans are taking over the streets of the French Quarter. There aren't any people walking the streets, and with the restaurants closed there isn't a lot of food waste for the rats to feed on. So the rats are spreading out in the open.
And I am coming to believe that the Wuhan virus will not stop spreading until such an exorcism and re-dedication takes place.
And all our pope can talk about is of nature having a 'fit'. Ongoing Pachamammaism.
A good man. I'd always read good reports of him. Still, it's depressing when this is the exception that encourages us and not the norm.
I do hope it is not true but there are reports from hospitals in the UK and USA of substantial under reporting of deaths:
Unfortunately, Pope Francis will never agree to do this. I just don’t see it.
It's in Amos 8:11-14 --
See, days are coming—oracle of the Lord GOD—
when I will send a famine upon the land:
Not a hunger for bread, or a thirst for water,
but for hearing the word of the LORD.
They shall stagger from sea to sea
and wander from north to east
In search of the word of the LORD,
but they shall not find it.
On that day, beautiful young women and young men
shall faint from thirst,
Those who swear by Ashima of Samaria,
and who say, “By the life of your god, O Dan,”
“By the life of the Power of Beer-sheba!”
They shall fall, never to rise again.
He went through his whole diocese walking through all the towns holding up the monstrance and prayed over the diocese from what is believed to be the site where Christianity first came to Ireland, pre-dating St Patrick, the holy well of St Declan in Ardmore where there is also a round tower.
Wow!Father Goring has always seemed like a great priest but who knew he was a prophet too. Didn't he say this was the year of an illumination of conscience? I hope this is a short drought as he prophesies.
What. A. Legend.
I’ve inestimable respect for Bishop Alphonsus. I’m privileged to have my Christmas and (usually) Easter Masses said by him in the Cathedral.
A real example of someone who lives for Christ.
God bless him.
I’ll say a prayer for him.
Video was sad, and disturbing. My son is actually concerned about food shortages in NYC should the situation worsen. I pray this never happens.
Testing for the virus in the US was troubled from the get go. It was either unavailable, or results were not always accurate, so no surprise deaths have been under reported.
There must be thousands of people who had COVID-19 but were never tested. Hopefully things will improve with the new 15 minute test that is supposed to roll out this week.
Wow! Any idea how long it took for him to complete this pilgrimage?
God Bless Cardinal Burke as he stands at the foot of the cross with his Mother, Mary Most Holy.
And just like St John, he has not abandoned Our Lord through fear.
He remains with the Way, the Truth and the Life.
May God Protect him always. Amen
Permanently? Forgot the separation between his "state" and church?
WOAH! NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio Threatens to Permanently Close Places of Worship That Don’t Comply With Shutdown (VIDEO)
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s power trip has reached new heights.
On Friday, de Blasio warned religious leaders during his press briefing that if places of worship do not comply with the city’s shutdown order — he might close them down permanently.
“A small number of religious communities, specific churches and specific synagogues, are unfortunately not paying attention to this guidance even though it’s so widespread,” de Blasio said during the briefing.
While he specifically mentioned synagogues and churches, he did not mention mosques at all.
“I want to say to all those who are preparing for the potential of religious services this weekend: If you go to your synagogue, if you go to your church and attempt to hold services after having been told so often not to, our enforcement agents will have no choice but to shut down those services,” he added.
The out-of-control mayor continued on to say that if churches and synagogues resist authorities, they may be shut down forever.
“If that does not happen, they will take additional action up to the point of fines and potentially closing the building permanently,” he said.
