I read in the news today that residents in wuhan have been shouting to each other encouragement from their apartments they are shouting "add oil" ?? how strange,,, I suppose we catholic's could translate that to keep your lamps lit ...
Japan just reported the 1st case in someone who has not traveled to China. I just received this alert from my alma mater Miami University in Oxford, OH. 2 kids in quarantine, 1 of whom just came back from China. This is a campus of 20,000 student in tight quarters so could spread quickly as the student has been back on campus for a while before reporting the symptoms yesterday, they just cancelled the basketball game for the rest of the week and the kids on campus are starting to walk around with face masks on: Miami University, the Butler County General Health District and the Ohio Department of Health will be holding a press conference at 2:30pm on Miami's Campus, Room 106 Gross Center, next to east side of Millett. Hopefully Miami U. is unique in that they just started back to classes yesterday and I just read that the Chinese student had NOT been back a while but instead just flew back in over the past weekend. There's many Chinese students on campuses all over the country but most colleges started their 2nd semesters 2 or 3 weeks ago so that's a good thing as the timing of the spread to campuses would have been bad if they were all flying back now.
I'm sure this has already occurred to everyone here, but please allow me to suggest: Stock up on bottled water and canned goods. I've squirreled away a month's worth of water and two weeks' worth of food. Big Lots sells a 24-pack of 16 ounce bottles of water for $2.60 in my area. Normally I avoid bottled water (plastic), but this is a justifiable exception.
When I would hear talk of the ability of receiving the Holy Eucharist being taken away from us I used to wonder how that could possibly be in such a free country as the USA. While at mass this morning I saw clearly that all it would take would be for some over zealous government officials to shut down group worship to solve the problem of the spreading of deadly viruses. No more mass. We indeed would have to go underground to receive the sacraments.
Just thinking about this. There are “unconfirmed” reports that this virus is displaying pneumonia, seizures and other neurological symptoms as well as kidney failure as presentingsymptoms, before the more common “cold and flu” symptoms. Plus it’s transmissible prior to the development of any symptoms. These characteristics point to a virus that has been purposely tweaked to be used as a bioweapon, although it’s certainly not definitive. Unfortunately, as this started in China under a totalitarian communist regime, none of the details we are hoping to see about its origin will be forthcoming.
I thought of this immediately. Two Chinese scientists in a research facility in Canada lab years ago took Corona virus samples and research back to China illegally.
This is not good. Sister Sasagawa said in October she felt "the time is here" and I believe we are going to see some terrible days.
I like the guy who does these videos. I believe him. He is not hysterical, he is just telling the simple truth.
Yes I believe you are right. As you said earlier we must go to Our Lady for help to get spiritually ready. I do fear for my family members. I want to tell them to prepare. I pray God gives me the words and an opportunity.
