My name is Gerard Thomas Joseph McGoldrick. I am a 59 year old, single man, a daily communicant since 1983, resident in Sydney, Australia. I have had relationships in the past and, perhaps, should have married one particular girl, named Avril Mary Juliana Fennell, who I loved very dearly, but, because of something my father told me as a boy, I thought that I might possibly become a priest, so I was always torn between the two. I did investigate the possibility and, obviously, because of my history of mental illness (schizophrenia), I was found unsuitable. But I also lost the girl. She has since stopped praying, and going to church, so please pray for her to be graced by Our Blessed Lord to resume the practice of the Faith. Because of her relationship with me, she studied and became a psychiatric nurse, and works, now, as a "community nurse", liasing with Rozelle hospital, a psychiatric treatment facility in inner-west Sydney. She is 51 and single. On another matter, I have some good friends who belong to a new religious order, founded in New Zealand in the late 1960's, called the "Mother of God Brothers". They have a strong pro-life apostolate and a deep devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe, who they take as their principal patroness. Please pray for vocations to their order. Please, also, pray for me - for the speedy and complete healing of my schizophrenia, of my diabetes and of an acquired brain injury. Additionally, I have been on the internet since it first began and I have repeatedly offended Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother by viewing inappropriate, lewd images of women. Although I have confessed every occasion, I earnestly seek prayer that I may receive all the necessary graces to cease this activity forthwith. Also, I have been legally required to reside in secular "supported accommodation" since 2010, (I have been a disability support pensioner since 1986). Very shortly, I am being required to move from my current location of Bondi Beach, to a far less appealing locale. I do not want to go but I have no say in the matter. Please pray that this move will actually prove to be beneficial, affirming, life-giving and life-enhancing, and that my practice of the Faith can remain undisturbed, even though getting to church will be, logistically, more difficult. Finally, please, of your charity, pray for my mother, Angela Mary McGoldrick, 78, mother of seven, a great-grandmother. She hasn't been to church, or even prayed, since a most unfortunate encounter with a woman involved in the occult, in 1988. My father, Daniel, 82, is also a daily communicant, but neither of us have been able to influence her - she is a very stubborn woman. Please pray that she receive a dramatic "wake-up call" conversion experience and return, joyfully and willingly, to the practice of the Faith. She enjoys playing snooker and shopping in opportunity shops.
May God bless you and your loved ones with the healing graces and the conversion that you so greatly desire. Entrust everything to our Blessed Mother. She will be your refuge in all of your struggles and worries.
Keep your eyes on Christ and he will lead you safely home...This life is very short, sometimes the best things you can do is lead by example.
Prayers for the spiritual, physical and emotional healing and conversion of your family and acquaintances. I understand some of your pain, as my husband has been disabled since 2003 with traumatic brain injuries along with physical limitations, due to another careless driver. He has offered up his daily pain and suffering for his family. May by the grace of God you find peace. God bless.
