I am more worried about the apostacy in the West than I am about militant Islam. A strong Christian civilization is the best antidote to aggressive Islam.

The Pope may have tactical reasons for his attempt at engagement with Muslims. Just condemning them is not going to change them.

Garabandral, the west of you is all the Americas. Though there may be apostacy in the US in Canada, once you start venturing south you see a much different story taking place. The pope is a Westerner you know and the first pope from the Americas. There will be a strong, devout remnant though and many saints to come from the US, I believe, in the times to come leading up to and after the warning. I see some of these saints every weekday I go to church. They are silent ones, reverant ones, with total love and devotion to Our Mother and pray for the whole world. They get there an hour before church and usually stay at least an hour after everyone else. I love them and seeing them so much. They bring so much peace to my heart. I wish I had more time to just sit there with them in their silence for longer than I do right now.

I must clarify that by the west I mean Europe, USA, Canada whole nations that have aposticised and abandoned God.

Of course there is a holy remnant led by our Lady.

The sins of the west make the angels blush - pornography, abortion, euthanasia, idolatry of money, fornication, licentiousness, greed, sins of the flesh, abominable marriage etc

If we do not repent in Europe God may allow invading forces who will rid us of many of these sins at the price of our freedom and even martyrdom.

I agree. These same sins, which sadly I must confess to you my brothers and sisters some I have committed, now make me sick and hang my head in shame for the world and total embarassment for all those in heaven who have to watch them happen. I get sick to my stomach and sorrow for all those in the world who still have not woken up to what their sins mean and have done. Thankfully, that is why I feel the greatest miracle or act of grace our Lord will ever do for us will be the Warning. It is truly a wonderful grace to see what our sins have done and caused and to finally have a chance to understand why sin is so wrong and why we must humble ourselves before Him in that moment and beg for forgiveness and strength to get up and move on and truly repent!

The muslim faith was founded by Mohammed. And from the get-go, they made war on Christians, especially intent in taking over all the holy sites of Christianity. Hence, the crusades, when Christians set out to take them back.

But who did the peoples living in those lands worship prior. I always thought the split and creation of the two main original faiths came from Abrahams two sons.

It appears there are several warnings against Vassula, and the faithful are warned not to participate in her unapproved activities,..things like automatic handwriting would not be coming from God as detailed in the second link, for your discernment...

    TRANSLATION
    CONGREGATIO PRO DOCTRINA FIDEI
    10 July 2004

    Prot N. 54/92-19631

    Eminence/Excellence,

As you know, this Congregation published a Notification in 1995 on the writings of Mrs. Vassula Rydén. Afterwards, and at her request, a thorough dialogue followed. At the conclusion of this dialogue, a letter of Mrs. Rydén dated 4 April 2002 was subsequently published in the latest volume of "True Life in God", in which Mrs. Rydén supplies useful clarifications regarding her marital situation, as well as some difficulties which in the aforesaid Notification were suggested towards her writings and her participation in the sacraments (cf. Attachment).

Since the aforementioned writings have enjoyed a certain diffusion in your country, this Congregation has deemed it useful to inform you of the above. Concerning the participation in the ecumenical prayer groups organised by Mrs. Rydén, the Catholic faithful should be called to follow the dispositions of the Diocesan Bishops.

In communicating to you the above, I use the occasion to assure you of my lasting and profound esteem.

    Yours Emminence's/Excellency's

    Most Devout

    (Signed)

    Joseph Card. Ratzinger
    Prefect

    AND HERE!!!

Modifications by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith (CDF) on the Situation Concerning True Life in God
When Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict the XVI, was asked, "what will your office reply if anybody asks if the notification is still valid?," his reply was ...

    "The situation has been modified"

    January 2005

For almost 3 years an ongoing communication had taken place between the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) and Vassula. This communication has modified the situation that emerged after the Notification published by the CDF in 1995. The dialogue between Vassula and the CDF was published in the latest editions of TLIG worldwide at the request of the CDF’s Prefect at that time, H.E. Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now H.H. Pope Benedict XVI. The publication of this dialogue has resulted in a letter dated 10th July 2004 which is signed by Cardinal Ratzinger himself to a number of Presidents of Catholic Episcopal Conferences who had expressed particular concern on Vassula and her writings. His Holiness explained to them in his letter that the position of the CDF has been modified towards Vassula and her writings. Pope Benedict wishes that everyone reads the questions put to Vassula and her answers. All the correspondence can be accessed FROM HERE.

Please disregard all other sites bad-mouthing her. It frankly doesn't get any better this while a visionary is alive. The many testimonies and letters from the priests, cardinals and bishops Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant etc.
Even Fr. Gobbi wrote a public letter stating our Lady gave him proof of her authenticity. I am starting a thread called UNITY. Lets discuss love and unity in this beautiful time of ADVENT....what a gift we could give our LORD!!

  10. The article in Time Magazine even got it right....the Pope has said 'nothing has changed.' Which is true!! Homosexuality is NOT A SIN! LOOK IN THE CATECHISM! The sexual ACT IS!! But so is fornification and adultery from heterosexuals! There are MANY, MANY homosexual people who are living devout, chaste catholic lives. ( some have called in on EWTN)
The Pope never said, " Abortion is ok"....he said, "We must tend to the devastated person who is in this situation with love and kindness and compassion!" There are PLENTY of women in the Project Rachel programs who had abortions and were forgiven in confession and on a day to day basis are suffering silently and horribly because they cannot talk to anyone about what they feel. Anyone who has spent time at a Planned un-parenthood abortion mill facility literally cries for these poor souls who feel at the end of their ropes because of pressure, fear, anger, hopelessness etc. We are doing SO MUCH GOOD with our pregnancy aid, our care-net facilities etc. BUT it needs to come from the pulpit, "Jesus loves you, we love you. Jesus has not abandoned you, he wants to hold you in his arms, he understands, come back to HIM who gives forgiveness and comfort and healing instead of a life filled with anger, hate, rejection and bitterness! This is the priest, bishop, and laymen's job!!

I PRAY the Pope brings in MANY , MANY women to the Vatican to do outreach to women who are hurting. Look at the women we saw in those videos who were attacking men who were praying! I bet every single one of them was molested, abused, experienced an abortion or two, or three and has never felt the love of a man in her life! It shows! These are wounded souls. These souls need Jesus' saving grace. These souls CAN BE SAVED. We have the armor, the prayer and the sacraments to do it!! But we don't. These satanic attacks are only going to get worse. We cannot continue to give vinegar instead of love and prayer. We must forgive and love. Thats our job.

MS7, interesting point. Heterosexual sex is a sin as is homosexual sex. We do tend to look at them differently. I know I used to when I was in sin. That reminds me, I still am a sinner and need to get my but into confession. Once the publican always the publican.

Both are sin but one is based on a natural act and the other on an unnatural act so the weight of sin is greater on the latter.

Best to avoid all sins of the flesh as these acts drag many to hell (Fatima).

    Garabandal,

Is what you are saying here true? I know there are grades of sine - like venial and mortal, but if the 6th Commandment is broken with full knowledge, is it not a mortal sin wheter it is natural or unnatural?

Best to avoid all sincs of the flesh is true I think,.

MS said... We cannot continue to give vinegar instead of love and prayer. We must forgive and love. Thats our job.

As the Beatles sang 'All you need is love' havent we had a few decades of love? What vinegar from the vatican are you talking about? I havent seen much vinegar in my life.[from church authorities thatis.]
Are you suggesting Blessed JP11 and Benedict gave to much vinegar?

Tough to disagree with that Mac. I think, possibly, it's the difference between what V2 was supposed to promote, and the "spirit of V2", the latter being the apostasy that was promulgated by various prelates. I believe Pope Francis personifies what George Weigel calls evangelical Catholicism.

Yes it is true. Notice that I used the term weight of sin as both merit punishent but the weightier one receives more serious punishment. Divine Justice is just and the unnatural act will be punished more since it is so against natural order.

It only takes one unconfessed mortal sin to be condemned to hell for all eternity. That being said, there are many levels of heaven and hell. Each person, justly judged by God, will eperience a greater or lesser joy in heaven or pains in hell based on ones sanctity in this life or evilness in this life.

Thank you Garabandal. Now I get it - this is how there a different levels in hell - I will remember that. The greater the mortal sin the greater the punishment. Thank you. I am going to think about that a lot more.
