Could it be that Pope Francis is critically aware of the high potential for nuclear war and bioloical warefare and he is doing the encyclical to remind leaders of the catastrophic consequenes of going there?
YES!!! What does it (Climate) have to do with Catholism!?? I'm guessing that it's all part of The Lord's "The Storm" Plan unfolding? Just the "pre-game" of this Climate Encyclical has caused anger, division and confusion amongst Catholics ... and handed "Piles of Ammo" to Catholic Haters Worldwide. You can already see it on "Christian" TV Shows where it goes something like this: "We done tole Ya so!! The Catholic Church is run by a bunch of Lefty Perverts!" ....... and considering the past, exactly, 50 years it's a point of view that, these days, is hard to argue against ;-( Do you think St Paul VI and his comment that The Smoke of satan had entered the Vatican was just mindless muttering? Well! The Season to be Merry and Don our Gay apparel .. Ah! ... better not go THERE!! Anyway! Time for the Renegade CrewDog to get on his SoapBox and PO the Goody-Two-Shoes Types ... again.. ;-) Contrary to what some may think, I love the Catholic Church and would join no other (It might annoy St Patrick & all my Irish Ancestors) but I also know that the leadership of Our Church has failed US miserably these past 50 years! The Western Church was hi-jacked by Marxist-Socialist and/or "Lavender" Agents and these agents did (still doing) a lot more damage than just gut OUR beautiful old churches and taking away OUR cherished prayers, hymns and traditions .... all in the "name" of Vatican II and "Modernization"........ The festering wounds of perverted sex and financial scandals is ongoing as is the bankrupting of Dioceses worldwide. Countless $$$$ Millions that should have gone to the poor, schools, foreign missions and/or seminaries/convents has been squandered upon victims and lawyers. No wonder countless millions of laity/clergy have voted with their feet these past five decades. Like many here, I grew up/was taught the notion that whatever Father or Sister or the Bishop who showed for Confirmations said "could be taken to the bank" ... Well!! How has that #$*&%$# Worked out for US!!?? ............ and it's not the first time in 1900 years of Church History that the Hierarchy has failed. The Great Schism and Protestant Reformation are two "incidents" that come readily to mind. Jesus established His Church as a means to channel US to Him, away from satan and to eternal life with Him and The Father and The Holy Ghost. I'm guessing ... and just my guess ... that a major "prime directive" of The Storm is OUR taking back OUR Church. I Hope and Pray for Pope Francis and All My Comrades in Faith ... but ..... I'm getting the feeling that Pope Francis may be The Guy to "lead" US into The Storm but not The Guy to lead US out!!?? GOD SAVE US ....... EVERYONE!!!
I understand that we could find a list of problems in the world every year for that past several decades. Times are getting worse no doubt about it, but I took Charlie's 'last normal Christmas' in the light that it would be hard to have a Christmas in the normal way. For instance, on the MOG forum we all live scattered throughout the world, did anyone not have the typical Christmas with family? There will come a Christmas when it won't be typical and not allowed to be celebrated publically, but it wasn't in 2014 in most places in the free world.
This too was my take on Charlie's statement about 2013 being the "last normal Christmas". But it seems that we have been -again- granted a little more time. I have to say that I highly respect Charlie and particularly his humility; I haven't read much of his blog but I like many things, particularly his motto, and don't agree with some others. But that's plain normal I think. And yet, I point out this particular "prophecy" because we need to remain always in the alert with a critical eye. I see messages totally dismissed due to petty silly things that people disagree with and the discernment doesn't seem to be very serious. In the same way, just because Charlie said it, we can't take it as the Word of God. This is my little caution here. He is the first one who is always in that kind of alert and suggesting readers to be as well. On the other hand, if we believe that this year's Christmas in our first world was as it is going to look like when the Tribulation hits full force I think we are being naive or deceived. The Tribulation is here already in full force in Iraq and a few other places -Nigeria etc- but we still haven't even hinted at it, I guess. There is a lot of praying and converting that we still need to work at to prepare for what is coming to each one of us and to us all, I think.

for the angels, everything is always “soon” (Though since July of 2012 it is all “now” –though I get confused about heavenly references to time, I am pretty sure that, even there, “now” comes sooner than “soon”). So, for the most part,I have to interpret using a whole host of other things I am told and based on temporal signs of the times and a few other pieces. But, the primary purpose of much that is said is to draw us towards God –and as we come closer to Him, our faith and offering can mitigate some of the effects. Don’t get me wrong –we cannot avoid the Storm entirely. But it could have become fully engaged as early as mid-2005, in which case it would have raged for 12 years. But a remnant of the faithful was praying and growing more faithful, so the onset was delayed that more might be brought in. It should have been fully engaged in 2012, but the numbers of people returning to god was growing, and as they added their voices to the chorus, God has been extravagantly generous in giving more time to gather more in. As these things came, it gave me a much deeper understanding of what the Lord means when He says, in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 that, “for the elect’s sake, those days (of tribulation) shall be shortened.” What was striking about the prophecy concerning rescue in 2017 is that it is the almost unique instance when I was not told “soon.” I was told “very late in 2017.” So I have given thanks to God for shortening “these days” leading up to the rescue. Though I must confess, with only a few years left to go and a whole LOT to be done in the remaining time," C.J.
I think we are all showing our age. The reason we are seeing so much more misery in media is because of the great increase in technology. News stories fly about the world with worst making the headlines...it makes you feel the world is a mess. Well...maybe...or maybe not. Just think about it...30 years ago vs. today. We see hundreds of millions of people pulling themselves out of poverty. The 3rd world is exploding with potential. We only see the rot in the West...but they are in there 1950's and 1960's. We in the West somehow thinks the Will of God is only directed by our national standard of living. We are myopic...we only focus on ourselves, our own families, our own situation. Less we forget...all the peoples of the world are Gods children. Maybe He keeps us going because He loves all His children...not just those in the U.S. and Europe. I think Charlie is right...perhaps we really don't know of what we speak. Maybe we got it all wrong...something to ponder I suppose.

Kathy...I understand what your implying and perhaps its true...but I can't give up on mankind. Mary our Mother has not given up on us...and somehow we owe it to her...not to so much think or even speak of the evil we deserve. We have evil everyday in our ordinary lives...but we have so many souls who are lost...if only in time they could find conversion of heart. It is imperative we dispense only mercy...only mercy in this hour. I know the just desire for justice is strong. For I once called down justice in self righteous indignity but God properly chastised me. He did not give me the full portion I deserved but was merciful to me. Therefore...I pray...with Mother Mary that His hand be stayed a bit longer so that many more will come to know Christ saving grace. Mary Mother of grace, Help of Christians...pray for us!
So knowing Christmas 2013 would be our last normal Christmas must clearly be absolutely necessary for us to know then . Otherwise Charlie wouldnt have told us.
Does Charlie have any explanation why things are so bad? He has everything he could want. Recent Sainted Popes ,the wonderful spirit of Vatican II.And now Pope Francis. The Church should be in great shape.The spirit of Vatican II was apparently blowing during the recent Synod. All should be well.Especially with the accepted Consecration of Russia.
When Jesus walked the Earth, we had everything we wanted with us.....but he died for our redemption. His passion was for our redemption. The apostles could not understand why He had to go through this. They ran from him, save John! They hid in fear and horror. And they were privileged to know him in the flesh. I cannot wrap my head around God's plans. Why we may need a bit of redemption through horrible trials in order to set us straight for His return one day....Too much for this little woman to think about...So I pray, and ask God to direct me to whatever His will is in this minute. And I especially cannot throw stones in a glass house, because Lord knows I am a sinner!
IMHO the state of the world is either set in stone / pre-determined, or it is plastic with any person's surrender and prayer for mercy actually changing the course of events. A few months ago I went through a few weeks of intense prayer for mercy - for no conscious or obvious reason other than that was where the Spirit led me. Either there was some point to that or there was no point. I believe that God is faithful and that the weeping, repentant sinners on this forum are enough to hold up the arm of the Father in the same way Moses' arm was held up. Coz otherwise there is no point - and we're all dooooomed!
