As it is my own. I'm often conflicted. God has moved me into a new job though after much prayer, which will isolate me from some the daily violations of His will I was forced to witness. (teaching clients to access Planned Parenthood and encouragment of abortions) I stopped getting my professional literature because of the continuouse articles and research in support of the gay movement in both agency counseling and in the schools. My code of ethics says if you can't support the gay movement, you can't be a counselor. But, I can be a Christian counselor. Tell him to hang on to that label and it will help. At least for now. Not sure about in the coming years though- could become a badge of martyrdom. So be it. It is hard, Pray, pray, pray Kath
I am sorry that this has come to your door, Terry. A few years back I voluteered to join an organistation called , 'The Samaritans' to help talk to people over the telephone who are considering commiting suicide. At my interview the panel asked me if what I would do if I was asked by a lady caller for a referral to an an abortion agency. I told them that I would no more refer her than I would refer her to a hitman who would shoot her husband for her. That I considered abortion murder, plain and simple. They said I was being too , 'Judgemental ' and I did not get the job. To make matters worse my brother in law who is a devout Catholic and a member of , 'The Samaritans', said that they were right to reject me. I think having strong Catholic beliefs would hinder you very badly in any Social Work field over here at the minute. Social Work/ Welfare is just full of this kind of thinking. It's very,hard hard when persecution comes right up knocking at your door like this. I only hope in this particular instance that the Church in your country is trying to help out by making a stand.
