Catholic Prophecy (Yves Dupont) Holzhauser (17th century). "The Great Monarch will come when the Latin Church is desolated, humiliated, and afflicted with many heresies. The Mohammedans will come again." (Note: "The Latin Church," which presumably, ex-cludes the Eastern-Rite Churches.) In the same period of time, the Pope will die in exile. A new Pope will be elected in Rome, but the validity of the conclave will be challenged by a number of Cardinals — the Church will then be in an incredible state of internal dissension. Then, the first Mohammedan forces will march into Rome. The Mohammedans will take advantage of the complete anarchy prevailing in Western Europe, and proclaim a new "Holy War." They will be armed by Soviet Russia who will endeavor not to become involved directly, at least not in the beginning. Europe — and Italy in particular — will suffer greatly through wars. The Mohammedans will take advantage of the complete anarchy in Europe and invade the land (a great many prophecies say so). But they will eventually be thrown back into the sea by the Great King who comes from the Ardennes, in Belgium (The Ardennes is the cradle of the Capetian Royal family). Old English Prophecy (On a tombstone at the Kirby cemetery, Essex). Other prophecies predict Rome will be looted and destroyed by the Mohammedans, who will go as far as Germany where, as we have seen, they will be defeated by the Great King. The King will cross the seas and carry the war into Arab lands, which will eventually bring about the conversion of the Mohammedans. Suffice it to say that the Mohammedans will overrun the whole of Southern Europe. In France, they will be stopped on the banks of the river Loire. In Germany, however, they will cross the Danube, reach the Rhine, and possibly the North Sea. In Eastern Europe they will clash with the Poles who, by then, will have shaken off their Communist yoke. The Mohammedans will commit innumerable atrocities, but no great military feats, since Europe will already be on its knees through civil wars. As soon as the European nations can gather up their forces again, the Mohammedans will suffer crushing defeats on every front, will be thrown back to the sea again, and pursued into their own homelands — which will mark the prelude to their conversion to Christianity.
Fascinating. "Europe will already be on its knees through civil wars." - one would wonder what on earth will happen to reduce Europe to this level of conflict and also, how far away is this?
I wonder would the civil wars mentioned be in fact the many upheavals in Greece, Spain, Ukraine, Portugal regarding the many violent protests and strife brought on by austerity measures? I'd like to include Ireland in that list but although we have been hollowed to the financial core, we have yet to protest or take to the streets in any meaningful way.
Perhaps. I was thinking the unrest could be a reaction to a major event elsewhere. Seems like there are so many situations "on the edge" that all it would take is a nudge to push them to boil over.
Europe will probably crack apart as a result of debt. The same with the USA. Remember that the French Revolution (1789) was largely brought about by the enormous debt the French monarchy incurred by financing expensive wars. When it came time for the monarchy to push back against the revolutionaries, it had no money and no other government would finance it.
Thomas, that's my take on it as well. Financial collapse will lead to anarchy and the people "on their knees". I think we see this army already building in the Islamic State. Think what will happen when (not if) Iran has the bomb and gives it to them and IS is successful in building/beating into submission their Islamic brothers of different sects into one larger army that could roll into Europe
