That is sad. A similar incident as a child caused my Dad to leave church altogether, and stop believing in God.
Ugh, what a nightmare to have a child go through this. I wish she would have reminded him that it isn't "his" Church but of course she was probably decimated to be reproached by him.
I am saddened to read these posts. I have always suspected that treatment at St Luke’s was medieval and now I know for sure.
All this reminds me of the Legend of the Genie who was let out of the Bottle and no one could get him back in again. So many Genies are getting out of bottles and cannot be put back in again. I hope they never will.
Pray for our poor Church. I hear rumours of really huge scandals about to hit, much bigger than any we have heard before and I am afraid Pope Francis is up to his neck in them. Pray, pray, pray.
I wasn't sure if I would sign it because I wasn't sure if it was my place as a layperson to do so, but I have decided to sign. We are now in a life or death struggle for the Church against those who would seek to destroy her and empty her of her Divine content. They have already surpassed the 15,000 signature goal they set and revised it hoping for 25,000. People are mad. Very mad.
My suspicion is that this is the equivalent of taking down fellow Chicagoan, Al Capone, for revenue breaches. I suspect far worse.
Yes. I have believed this for awhile. The Church will be rocked off her axis I fear but it has to come. This cannot go on.
Recently, I was trying to recall who had mentioned this before on the forum - so now I know it was you, Fatima. I wonder if he ever had the faith to begin with.
I guess you have to call your brother, pack your bags as fast as you can, and leave for an undisclosed location. This priest just made it to safety imo.
