Let's not get too exited here. Can you remember what happened to Iceland when they left the EU. As a voter for exit, I made my decision purely on the fact that a former free market arrangement had somehow morphed into a stealth theft of the sovereignty of the UK. And without realising there would be so many other voters for various reasons ticking the same box to exit. I am so happy to be able to say to my God; I Trust You to take care of everything, not some faceless nameless nobs in Europe. It was also very interesting that two Popes, Benedict and Francis recommended us reading that book 'The Lord of the World.' It makes me angry to hear the gays trying to call my decision some sort of phobia, everything has to be about them and their perverted view of the truth. I makes me sad to hear some say it was about immigration. There will always be movement of peoples between countries, there always has been. And people from the commonwealth who had a right to move to the UK prior to EU taking our sovereignty, were put to the back of the queue on the orders of EU. EU decided who could come to UK. Viv I'm afraid that the vote in Scotland was for Remain, roughly 60-40, with many people voting Remain solely because they feared that la Sturgeon would use a Brexit vote to force another referendum in Scotland over independence. It looks as if those who govern Scotland want to keep it in the EU by dislocating from England and taking over its veto at the EU. This would require all 27 member countries to vote on, and Scotland would be a net receiver, unlike the UK which is a net contributor. I'm not sure the EU grandees would like that but out of spite they might go for it. It would break up the UK in all probability. Scotland, if it goes into the EU alone, will probably have to adopt the Euro What appalls me now is the bad-loser sour grapes of our liberal elite. They are all calling for the referendum to be ignored. Having frightened many people who voted 'out' with dire predictions, many who voted out now say they regret it. Or so they are claiming - and the bossy boots liberals want a new referendum, no doubt until the vote goes the way they want. Or something. It is really dreadful. I don't know what will happen. I fear for my country. The EU is a vast overpaid bureaucracy, answerable to no one, with pockets stuffed full of cash from the poor 'people'. Many other countries are sick of it as well. My husband has long said that the EU is failing so disastrously that it will collapse. So we are really much better off outside it. Americans, think of 1773 - no taxation without representation. Brexit was our Boston Tea Party moment. The issues are much the same. We elect representatives to pass laws for our land, and if we dislike the government we can vote them out in 4 years time. That's democracy. It's not the EU way though. We can never get rid of them unless we vote out.

Padraig, where is your faith and confidence in God. If God chooses to make all things new, we can expect to take just one step at a time. Trust in God to take care of us. Live our faith in the present moment. And love those we come in contact with. Surely that is all we need to do. And to be honest, I have to say the thought of faceless government in the EU was my primary decision to vote exit. Call it NWO if you choose. Padraig, if we have earned the biggest kick up the arse for our failure to heed Gods laws; then should we moan and complain, or should we humbly accept what is after all a well deserved punishment.
