In this video chat with Dr Marshall, Bp Schneider is very supportive of the SSPX, and defends what Abp Lefebvre did as something necessary in the state of emergency that had been present (and is still present until today).
Bp Schneider says that future popes will thank Abp Lefebvre for what he did.

    41:35
    (Dr Taylor Marshall).....
persecuted society and culture but in

    41:38

the book you talk about your encounter

    41:40

and as a visitor of the Society of

    41:43

Saint Pius the X and their

    41:45

seminary life. And could you speak to

    41:48

that. A lot of people ask what is the status

    41:50

of the Society of St. Pius the

    41:52

    X. Is it schismatic, is it irregular

    41:55

is it non-recognized? Can you share

    42:00

what you shared in the book and

    42:01

    maybe add anything more?

    42:02
    (Bp Schneider)
Yes, firstly we have to say what is

    42:07

    schismatic? According to the tradition

    42:10

of the church, schismatic is/are people

    42:14

who are refusing, in principle, the

    42:19

    authority of the Pope.

    42:23

Let us say, the Orthodox, they are

    42:26

    called not heretics usually, but

    42:29

schismatics, because they are rejecting in

    42:32

principle the authority of the Pope.

    42:36

And so, and then the fact of

    42:43

    the Episcopal ordination without the

    42:47

papal approval, it was in the old Canon

    42:53

    Law not punished automatically with

    42:56

excommunication; and so only in the new

    43:00

code of Canon Law, so this is a

    43:02

difference. So the church, so many

    43:05

centuries, did not consider the fact to

    43:09

    ordain someone bishop without approval

    43:11

of pope, per se, as a schismatic act.

    43:15

And the church history shows us that for

    43:18

example, the entire first millennium, the

    43:24

majority of the bishops were ordained

    43:27

without asking Rome, the Pope, for the

    43:31

approval; just simply ordained bishops in

    43:36

maintaining the unity with the Pope, and

    43:39

mentioning him in the Eucharistic prayer

    43:43

or consulting the Pope in some, and so

    43:47

maintaining the unity in this way. Let us

    43:50

say all these Saints which we know: St.

    43:53

Athanasius, Saint Basil, they were not

    43:56

ordained with the approval of the Pope; no.

    44:00

And so on, we can make so many examples.

    44:03

And therefore this is not pertaining to

    44:09

the Deposit of Faith; the act of

    44:11

ordination can be done in different ways.

    44:15

And if there is an emergency situation,

    44:18

emergency situation, to my opinion, it

    44:22

is in which we are living, even after the

    44:29

introduction of the New Mass which is

    44:31

    substantially a kind of Protestantisation

    44:34

of the center of our life, which is

    44:40

the Holy Mass, even if it is celebrated

    44:42

correctly, the texts of the New Mass

    44:45

itself, like the offertory prayers, for

    44:48

example, the second Canon, and so,

    44:50

    this is Protestantising, without doubt.

    44:53

Well, this is only I said this in in

    44:57

    bypassing but continuing the your

    45:02

question, my answer to your question,

    45:04

and so, Archbishop Lefebvre had not true

    45:11

    schismatic intention when he ordained

    45:14

because he asked until the last moment

    45:19

    the Pope to approve this.
    So, if someone

    45:24

usually the schismatic bishops, they don't

    45:27

care. (TM: Yeah, the Eastern Orthodox

    45:29

don't write to Rome) and even other

    45:33

    sedevacantists, or other, they

    45:37

even don't want to ask the Pope for

    45:39

    permission, but Abp Lefebvre,

    45:42

they wrote several letters until the

    45:44

last moment, with very much respect,

    45:47

reverence, and asking that he wants to

    45:53

ordain them with the approval of Rome. And

    45:56

all this is a demonstration that he was

    46:00

not, he did not do this in a schismatic

    46:02

intention. It is obvious, and we have to

    46:06

be just also and fair. And in view of

    46:11

the great tradition of the church. And

    46:13

then, he also mentioned the Pope during

    46:16

the ordination of the bishops, in the

    46:18

Canon of the Mass. And this is

    46:22

a proof that he maintained the desire to

    46:26

    be united with Rome, but

    46:29

    in specific historical difficult

    46:31

situations, he could not act in another

    46:34

    way
. And he did this not to make a new

    46:38

parallel Church. And he said these, but to

    46:43

do a real help and a service for the

    46:47

Roman Church itself, for the Popes

    46:51

in the future, which God knows, will thank

    46:55

him that he did these. And I'm sure this

    47:00

    will come.

    And now we are

    47:03

looking, we are seeing this. And then now

    47:06

    concretely, after Pope Benedict

    47:15

    XVI

    47:16

    in 2009, lifted the excommunication

    47:21

penalty, even from this time, they are

    47:26

not anymore excommunicated, and then the people

    47:29

are not excommunicated, they are not schismatic.

    47:32

    Otherwise the church

    47:34

would not lift/ revoke the penalty.

    47:39

And so, and then it was only touching the

    47:44

4 bishops, not the priests. Well,

    47:49

when we see according to the

    47:54

Canon Law, strictly, ad literra, to the

    47:58

letter, the priests and bishops are/ may

    48:02

be suspended in celebrating Mass because

    48:07

they are have no (?)incardination, and and so.

    48:11

But now the situation changed because

    48:16

Pope Francis gave to all the priests of

    48:20

the Society of Pius the X the

    48:22

    faculties of confession.

    48:27

Ordinary faculties, and now how can

    48:31

be a suspended priest be an ordinary

    48:35

    confessor? It is a

    48:37

    contradiction. And therefore to my

    48:40

opinion, Pope Francis with this act

    48:43

in some way, he implicitly lifted also

    48:48

the suspension, the canonical I mean. And

    48:52

    then the possibility to assist

    48:56

canonically the marriages, also how can

    49:00

a suspended priest assist canonically a

    49:03

marriage? And then in the provision

    49:06

of the Holy See, is saying that it is

    49:10

also possible in some cases that after

    49:13

this the priests of the Society of St

    49:16

    Pius X assist marriage, when

    49:20

there is no other available priest, he

    49:22

can celebrate Mass for the spouses at

    49:26

which all assist. And then, it is not, how

    49:32

can the Pope permit a priest publicly

    49:36

celebrate a mass, who is suspended?

    49:39

So we have to say, now in this moment, he

    49:42

is not suspended; and then finishing the

    49:45

mass, he is again suspended. It is absurd

    49:48

to my opinion, or when he is hearing

    49:51

confession, in the confessional, he is not

    49:54

suspended because the Pope gave him the

    49:56

faculties. And then when he goes out from

    50:00

the confessional and goes to the altar

    50:02

and celebrates mass, then he is suspended.

    50:05

We are in absurdity, because we are

    50:10

interpreting the law in such a strict

    50:13

manner. We are becoming Pharisees and

    50:16

scribes, really, because the church law is

    50:20

pastoral, and all these laws are for the

    50:24

aim of the salvation of souls. And we

    50:29

have to always to keep these; otherwise

    50:32

when we are too much stressing the

    50:36

human part of the law, the positive part,

    50:41

we become positivists, in the law and

    50:45

this is a danger because we are

    50:48

forgetting the eternal salvation of the

    50:50

    souls

    50:51

and becoming in some way the mentality

    50:55

of the Pharisees and the scribes which

    50:57

Christ condemned, you know. And so,

    51:02

therefore I consider this now, this is a

    51:05

quite new situation, a substantial new

    51:08

situation of the Society of St Pius X

    51:11

    after the lifting of the

    51:14

excommunication of the bishops and after

    51:18

the granting of the general faculties of

    51:20

confession, and after the granting of the

    51:23

    possibility to assist the matrimony,

    51:27

even to celebrate a mass for the

    51:30

spouses. And then in, de facto also, there

    51:35

are bishops around the world who

    51:40

    publicly permit the priests, the

    51:44

bishops of the Society of St Pius X,

    51:48

    to celebrate public masses in

    51:50

exceptional cases. And therefore I think

    51:54

that there are so many bishops and

    51:57

priests in the world who are doing

    52:00

    really, blasphemies and sacrileges

    52:04

in the masses publicly; and they are

    52:09

not punished. They are more hurting

    52:13

and offending our Lord and damaging the

    52:17

faith and the church entire, than the

    52:21

priests of the Society who piously

    52:23

celebrate the mass as always did, only

    52:27

because there is not yet resolved some

    52:30

problem of the positive law of the

    52:33

church; which is subordinated to, in an

    52:38

extreme situation, which we are now

    52:40

living. (TM: Yeah I remember Archbishop

    52:43

Lefebvre said, I read this, that in England, they

    52:47

were allowing Methodists to have an

    52:49

    ordination ceremony, which is invalid

    52:51

inside of a Catholic cathedral, and yet

    52:54

he said, we cannot say the mass for which

    52:58

    that Cathedral was built. The

    53:00

bishop won't let us go in there to say

    53:01

the old Mass, for which that

    53:04

cathedral was built for this mass. Those,

    53:06

all those private altars all the way

    53:09

around were built for this mass. There's

    53:11

a Methodist ordination in there and yet

    53:13

we can not say the old Mass in there.

    53:15

    That's a state of emergency!

I've said this before - the only reason the Tridentine rite mass is widely available and ever-increasing in numbers now is because Abp Lefebvre took all the young men who asked him, into his Traditional SSPX seminary, which trained them to offer the usus antiquior.
I believe the rest of the seminaries abandoned the Tridentine mass after Vatican II and also didn't teach Latin anymore.

Sadly, 12 of the SSPX priests (and some seminarians) betrayed Abp Lefebvre after he consecrated the 4 Bishops and Rome "excommunicated" him. These priests then formed the FSSP and had to sign an agreement with Rome that they would obey and not question (the troubling issues of) Vatican II anymore.
All of the FSSP priests were from the SSPX. This is true and cannot be denied.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time now to go through the whole discussion on whether Benedict XVI is still the Pope.
But, I would like to point out that Bp Schneider has not addressed/properly rebutted:
    - the distinction between munus and ministerium in the wording of the resignation,
    - the plotting of the St Gallen mafia and former Cardinal McCarrick's public admission that someone influential asked him about Bergoglio becoming pope just before the conclave,
    - and the perfectly legitimate question about whether Benedict XVI was threatened and pressured into resigning.

Also, Bp Schneider mentions as "proof", the journalist who "quoted" Benedict XVI as saying "the pope is one, it is Francis". This was debunked by LifesiteNews in July 2019.
No evidence Pope Benedict said ‘the Pope is one; it is Francis’
    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/no-evidence-pope-benedict-said-the-pope-is-one-it-is-francis

Another point made by Bp Schneider, that Benedict XVI names Francis as pope during celebration of mass, I note that Bp Schneider did not say that he himself witnessed it, but rather, he was told of it by others.

It is very telling that Bp Schneider has to address this problem in the video - that tells us that there must be enough voices clamouring for the truth, doubting that Bergoglio is the pope and believing that Benedict is still Pope.

Bishop Schneider still maintains that PEB is not the Pope.
PEB himself says “speculation about the invalidity of renunciation is simply absurd”.
This is PEB’s own wording. I like his use of the word “absurd” at this juncture. He himself is telling us so many times that Francis is the Pope. Now he is using the word “absurd.”
    I totally agree.
    Kindly put this to rest.
Regarding rebuttals online, anyone can find anything online, except discernment.
When anyone, even a Bishop , points out what you disagree with, you will follow with a barrage of posts to “prove your point.” This Bishop is highly esteemed and orthodox.
This time, PEB himself has repeatedly denied he is still Pope.

This is what I believe and I cannot be untrue to myself and put the matter to rest.
As Bp Schneider himself said in the video, even holy Saints have made errors in their judgement, therefore His Grace may yet change his mind.
The false reporting of what Pope Benedict XVI said and quoted by Bp Schneider, is a case in point:
There are many aspects of the debate that Bp Schneider has failed to address.
I believe that the truth will come out in the end.
    May God's Will be done.

But if PEB maintains that he himself is not the Pope, then there should be an end to the debate. It's possible to believe falsely, you know.

And yet there is much to be said for courageous priests who have not celebrated illegal and illicit Masses and have remained canonically correct with Rome. Let us not forget that form of courage in their priesthood. It is sad the SSPX priests advise their faithful to avoid going to other Masses, even to satisfy their Sunday obligation. That is the flip side to this argument.

    As Bp Schneider said:

Is it surprising for the SSPX to advise that, when it is clear that the Novus Ordo mass is a Protestantisation of the TLM, and blasphemies and sacrileges are occurring repeatedly, which most certainly offend our Lord?

Just one aspect which, without fail, causes sacrilege in the Novus Ordo Mass is the reception of Holy Communion in the hand.

    1970, Pope Paul VI stated
"Many of the faithful feel troubled in their faith due to an accumulation of ambiguities, uncertainties and doubts that touch upon essential matters of their faith. Such are the Trinitarian and Christological Dogmas, the mystery of the Eucharist and the Real Presence, the Church as Institute of Salvation, the Priestly Ministry in the midst of God's People, the importance of prayer and the Sacraments, moral demands related, for example, to the indissolubility of Matrimony or the respect of human life."
